Lydia, a receptionist for a New York City law firm, is on her way home from work when a terrorist attack hits her local police station. She is caught in the explosion and killed. Instead of waking up in the afterlife, she instead awakens in a junkyard in an unfamiliar, high-tech city. She is rescued from the junkyard''''s security by three petty criminals, with whom she forms a bond. She is then pulled into the Bloodied Knives Syndicate.
