Chapter 2
After reading everything written on the screen, it disappeared. I once again look at the corpse of the 'Young Goblin'. Unable to contain it, I suddenly burst into laughter, which continues for several minutes. After finally calming myself down, I consider my situation.
I can't quite believe it, but it seems like I've come to another world. One with a game-like system no less! Something I frequently fantasised about. I need to calm down for now though. I should probably get out of here first. Goblins are known to move in groups, and this one was still young, so adults must be nearby. The smell of blood also might attract other creatures. On top of that, I've been pretty noisy the last few minutes.
Having decided I need to quickly leave this place, I stand up, pick up the goblins club, collect my dropped bundle of purple apples and continue in the direction I was initially heading. My body feels a lot lighter compared to before. Levels and attributes are a wonderful thing!
I need to find shelter. Based on the position of the sun seen from the clearing it'll start getting darker soon. After a short while, I come across 2 more Goblins. These ones appear to be adults. I quickly hide behind a tree. It seems they haven't noticed me yet, and are slowly heading in my direction, so I decide to launch a surprise attack when they pass the tree I'm hiding behind. I focus on the sound of them approaching, trying to keep my breathing steady. Just as they walk past my tree, I tightly grip my club and jump out behind them, swinging the club at the back of the closest ones head. The blow connects and the goblin goes flying 2 metres forward. Just as the other one turns to look at me, the club reaches its head as well. This one also flies foward a couple of metres. I move closer to them, club at the ready, however neither one is moving. Upon looking closer, the first ones neck looks like its broken, while the other is bleeding from its ear. Neither appears to be breathing. The window appears again...
Well, that was easier than expected. I suppose I have my level up earlier to thank for that. Still, Virility... Damn horny Goblins. Did I just become a virgin sex god?
I don't feel anything after killing these two goblins. Then again, my emotions have always seemed dull compared to others. Honestly, my reaction to the first goblin was more surprising to me. After examining the bodies, I swap my current club for a new one, as it's slightly longer, then continue on my way. It's almost night time now.
As luck would have it, I stumble upon a large hollow tree, with an opening big enough for me to crawl in through. I search around the area and find a fairly large fallen branch, with the leaves still attached. I drag it over in front of the tree opening, crawl into the tree, and pull the end of the branch closer so that the leaves cover the hole.
I REALLY hope there are no spiders in here... Thankfully I found shelter before it got completely dark.
I settle in as best I can, eat an apple, and start contemplating what I'm going to do now. As it gets dark, the forest seems to come alive with sounds, putting me on edge.
Wait, if this is really a game-like fantasy world, there should be status screens. There was the level up screen earlier as well. STATUS!
To my delight, it works. A semi-transparent screen appears before me.

After studying the screen for a while, I focus on my 'Inheritance' skill, wishing for more information. It works.
Damn. This really is a reincarnation cheat... So I died. I know I should be angry and want revenge, but instead I'm happy. Am I insane? Maybe so, I'm having a conversation with myself inside my head after all. Good point!
I continue to exmaine my status screen, focusing on one thing after another to get more information. Name, race, age and gender are self explanatory. Other than that...
That's all pretty easy to understand. I not entirely sure how my unique class works, but it seems like it'll be strong in the future. There's also the fact that it increases luck and charisma, which seems like it'll be pretty insane combined with my 10x attribute growth... Still, I should leave those thoughts for later. For now I need to focus on surviving. I should try to get some sleep.
It's surprisingly warm inside the tree. I close my eyes and attempt to fall asleep, however the noises of the night time forest - the sound of unknown creatures, the rustling of leaves and the occasional howl of a wolf - keep me from doing so. Thus I settle in for a sleepless night and try to rest as well as I can.
