Update 4: Shackles and Celebration Part 1

Even though I was just in a sluggish state, I feel very lively now. I look up and see a binary star linked together by a yellow tether. The bigger star is golden like the sun and the smaller star is bluish-white. Although there are two stars, I don’t notice a difference in brightness from Earth. In fact, I could say that it’s dimmer. I’ve been staring at the system for longer than ten seconds, yet I haven’t blinked my eyes. After a while, I feel my sweat dripping from my temple to my neck and I stop from observing the stars.

I can’t properly see below. My vision is distorted and I feel nauseous. I stared too long at the twin star and I’m facing the consequences. Well, normally I would’ve avoided staring for a long time at bright objects. Then this must be the result of Absolute Bravery.

How convenient. As a summoned savior to this world, it’s an honor to have cheat-like skills. I look back at the crowd. They seem much calmer, but the smile painted on their faces has no sign of going away. Myriad colors sparkle around myself. Little by little, I descend to the platform, I land in front of the girl I met earlier, and then I kneel and bow my head slightly. It’s roleplaying time. I’m going to have my fun in this world.

“You…” the girl says. “Weren’t you the suspicious man earlier?”

“In a sense, yes.” I reply. “It was my specter. I sent it here to survey the continent I am to be summoned. Let me introduce myself, I’m Vulcan, a swordsman from a lost continent.” It’s a lie, of course. Using my real name—not the Arth Miorus from my dream state—in this place don’t have a use.

“Vulcan, from now on, I am your master. I'm Estella Waterpeak, a royal knight and a daughter of the Viscount of this land.”

“Master? I will not call you that. I am not your servant, Lady Estella. I suppose I’ll never listen to you from now on.”

“Please excuse me,” a voice says. The white-robed man approaches and stands beside Estella. “Summoned being, please excuse her rudeness. She may be a royal knight, but this is the first time she has had freedom to do as she wants, so please forgive her.”

“What’re you saying, Harold?” Estella glares at Harold. “It says here in the summon that I am his master.”

“You’re right, but not quite right, Lady Estella.” Harold says.

“What the hell does that mean? You’re not making any sense. He is my servant.” Estella snaps her fingers. A transparent popup window appears before her.

  Status: Servant of Stella

  Level 1; E-class]

I look at my status as well. On the first few lines, I find [Status: Servant of Stella]. So, she isn’t lying. “You’re Harold, right? Explain to me why I became level 1, an E-class, and her servant.”

Harold thinks for a moment, and then with a sigh, he begins. “I’m not sure why you’re level one. You’re an ultra-rare summon, meaning myriad colors appears as you’re being summoned. Someone like you should’ve been a level five or more and in the upper third class. I don’t really get why a level one would be an ultra-rare. With your level, you should just be a rare summon.”

“No offense,” Estella says,” but among the ultra-rares, you’re trash. A normal rock among jewels. A pebble among mountains. A stick among legendary swords. Basically, you’re garbage. That’s why you’re a servant, not a partner!”

Wow, she doesn’t know how to hold back. I feel my blood boiling. There may be a lot of people around, but she’s the only focus of my attention. I unsheathe my sword and hold it with my left hand. The sword is rather light as if I carry a feather. I swing it. It cleaves the wind, and the shockwave from that slightly pushes back Estella and the others. I throw sword above and let it spin until it sheathes itself to the scabbard on my back. Amazing. I can’t believe I just did that.

“You’re underestimating me too much, Estella. How about we have a duel to know who deserves their rightful place?”

“I accept. Let’s do it right here. Harold and everyone, please vacate and move further from this place. I’ll let you all know the power of the Waterpeak family.”

I unsheathe my sword again and brandish randomly since I’ve no idea how to actually use one. I’ve never touched a sword until now. I’ve only seen it. Estella unsheathes the sword from her waist. It has a blue hilt and the sword seemed the have been folded many times.

“We’ll start now,” she announces. She immediately rushes to me with her sword facing downwards. She swings it upward using her two hands. I step back and bend my upper body backwards. Her sword nearly hit my nose. I begin my offensive as her sword go past beyond my face. I raise my sword, and as I swing it to her defenseless body, she becomes farther and farther. My swing didn’t connect at all. I seem to have lost my footing earlier, and now I fall to the ground. She takes this chance. She rotates the hilt of her sword until the blade faces downward. Then she struck the ground beside my ear. Too fast. Too scary.

I clear my throat. “You’re good. I concede in this duel. It’s your victory.”

“Don’t speak like that. You couldn’t even react,” she retorts.

“You must be misunderstanding something. In this duel, I just want to know if you deserve to be my master.”

“No, I don’t even want you as my servant now.”

It’s too late for you to say that. As long as I appear strong to the crowd, I don’t care what you think, Estella. “Enough of this farce. I accept that you are my master. Harold, let’s continue the ceremony. My weapon is doing fine, but I can’t recreate my true strength.”

Harold walks back to the platform. “Estella, please continue.”

Estella put her arms on her chest, closes her eyes, and speaks some form of ritual language. The air around her intensifies and forms a visible wind in front of her. The wind compresses, changes to a green color and turns into collar and chains. The collar, cuffs, and chains instantly latched to my neck, wrist, and calf. Then the chains dissipate. The collar around my neck disappears and cuffs on my calf disappears while the cuffs on my wrist becomes wristguards.

[Activating additional auto-skill of Chains of the Summoned Being. Effect: You will always protect Estella from harm no matter what. Instead of her feeling pain, you will feel most of the pain she receives.]

  That is not good.
