Chapter 6 The Seasoning of the Dragon Kingdom

Tonight, Gorgin whipped up a simplified version of barbecue.

A stroke of luck led someone to obtain three boxes of barbecue seasoning, and they promptly reached out to Gorgin via the purchase information he'd posted on the trading channel.

The items they demanded were a bit more than what was involved in the Pixian bean paste deal.

After some deliberation, Gorgin agreed to the trade.

In exchange for a bowl of water and two flints, he got three boxes of barbecue seasoning.

This individual clearly had a good grasp of common sense, understanding that the desert experiences significant day - night temperature variations.

The water was for quenching thirst, and the flints for igniting the bonfire.

Materials were abundant here; the ubiquitous thorny bushes were perfect for burning.

Evidently, this lucky soul was in for a warm night.

  The barbecue ingredients were straightforward.

A few ogres made a trip to the oasis and returned with a Fiery Flame Tiger and three Sand - land Wild Boars.

After borrowing a battle - axe from the beastmen to butcher and skin the animals, Gorgin ended up with a tiger pelt and six wild boar tusks.

He didn't squander the internal organs and bones.

After a quick rinse to remove the unpleasant odor, he placed them all in a cauldron and simmered them over a gentle fire to make soup.

He cut the deboned meat into small chunks, skewered them on wooden sticks with alternating fatty and lean pieces, and then propped them diagonally above the bonfire to roast.

The Fiery Flame Tiger and the three wild boars provided ample meat, yielding over sixty large skewers, each about a meter long.

Gorgin summoned the six staff members from the House of Amorous Feelings and assigned them as supervisors to rotate the skewers regularly while he began sprinkling the barbecue seasoning bit by bit.

The boxes of barbecue seasoning were rather small, so Gorgin emptied them all into his "rice bowl" — actually the skull of a giant beast, which made handling the seasoning a bit more convenient.

As the barbecue seasoning was applied, the rich, savory aroma of the meat began to waft through the air.

  "Smells amazing!"

Horne, the ogre mage, marched out, her eyes gleaming at the sight of the roasting meat.

"Mom, hold on a sec. It's not ready yet!"

Gorgin quickly intervened as he saw his mother on the verge of digging in.

  "Come on, hurry!"

Horne was so eager that saliva dribbled from her mouth.

Before long, a ring of ogres formed around the bonfire.

  Stolen novel; please report.

The burly ogres packed tightly around it.

Gorgin directed the six waitresses to keep rotating the skewers while he carefully timed his seasoning - sprinkling.

Soon, the first batch of twenty large skewers was done.

Gorgin grabbed several and handed them to his mother.

Horne couldn't contain herself any longer and immediately took a big bite off one skewer.

There's no need to teach the art of eating skewers; it's intuitive.

The ogres around were itching to start, but none dared to move without Gorgin's go - ahead.

This was the authority he'd established through his prowess.

He signaled the six women to keep roasting, then took a skewer for himself and passed the rest to Nu, instructing him to distribute them.

A scuffle broke out among the ogres over the skewers.

Who could resist the allure of the barbecue seasoning from the otherworldly Dragon Kingdom?

Three boxes of seasoning were simply insufficient for sixty large skewers, leaving only a sparse coating on each. But for the ogres who'd never tasted it before, it was a rare treat.

They were used to eating everything raw and only got to savor cooked food when Gorgin prepared it.

When had they ever had such a delicacy?

Gorgin paid them no mind and took a bite himself.

Mm, the Dragon Kingdom seasoning paired with the otherworldly meat was a flavor explosion, leaving a lingering, mouth - watering aroma.

The six women couldn't help but gulp, looking pathetic as they roasted the skewers and pleaded for a share.

Among the nearby ogres, the stronger ones got to eat first, while the defeated, with their bruised faces, watched enviously.

  The approval rating soared.

The unique taste of the barbecue seasoning was unknown in this world, and approval ratings kept flashing in Gorgin's mind.

The desert - style BBQ had already won over these ogres.

The commotion attracted the attention of the beastmen having their meal outside the tribe.

Though they were puzzled by the sudden ogre scuffle, the enticing aroma in the air made their mouths water.

"Gorgin, what are you guys eating? Can you spare some for us?"

Gorgin waved his massive hand dismissively.

"Not enough. We're barely enough for ourselves!"

"Not selling, no matter the offer!"

While selling to the beastmen could earn him approval ratings, Gorgin, as a native, was content and didn't place a high value on such rewards...

If Gorgin had just arrived from the Blue Planet today, he might have been more focused on accumulating approval ratings for rewards.

But he was a native now, and the long - missed BBQ took precedence!

The soup simmering nearby was now ready, giving off a rich, earthy smell of offal.

"Let's call it Exotic - style BBQ and Tiger - bone Organ Stew!"

After a random name - making spree, Gorgin took his bowl and filled it with Tiger - bone Organ Stew.

Biting into a skewer and sipping the meat soup, life felt almost too good.

Horne needed no instruction. She mimicked Gorgin's eating style, and a look of satisfaction spread across her fierce visage.

Once the two most powerful figures in the tribe started eating, the other ogres resumed their squabbling, this time over who'd get to the soup first.

It was Gorgin's authoritative intervention in arranging the dining order that finally silenced these rowdy fellows.

With the chieftain's involvement, the ogres quickly shed their brawling demeanor and instead looked as docile as dunces.

There was enough meat soup in the cauldron for each ogre to have a bowl, with leftovers.

They wanted more, but Gorgin's firm slap sent them packing.

A taste is enough. Can't they tell when to stop?

Each ogre received a bowl of meat soup and a large skewer, with the remainder going to Gorgin and Horne.

This amount of food was meager for the ogres, but it was about participation. If they weren't full, they'd have to fend for themselves.

Once all the skewers were roasted, Gorgin noticed the six waitresses looking up at him with pleading eyes.

Considering their future service to him and guests, he offered them a large skewer and a bowl of meat soup.

The waitresses beamed as they carried the skewer and soup back to the House of Amorous Feelings.

The large skewer was standard fare for the ogres but seemed enormous to the women, with one skewer more than sufficient for them.
