So I died. How and why it doesn't matter; what matters right now is my soul was sucked into an expanse of nothingness. Right before I could come to terms with this new state of being,
I looked up to see the incomprehensible. It's a bit too hard to describe to you what is incomprehensible, but I would say it looked a bit like one of those Lovecraftian gods, or all of them combined, along with a bit of Gojo's limitless domain expansion adding information into my brain. So, it was not very pleasing to the eye. If I still had my meat bits, I would probably have died. Luckily, I was a soul, or some packet of information that thought it was a soul.
It's a bit confusing; being dead is not at all like being alive, and I wasn't exactly sitting next to some busty goddess waiting to reincarnate because I was 'good.' I was brought back to awareness by a packet of information that was shoved into my soul by what I'm now calling Azathoth, because naming it Rob would be disappointing.
It turns out that it was once reincarnated just like me and became the protagonist of a bad fanfiction, continuing to grow and accumute power and girls until his mind grew old and he became squiddy. In short, he had done everything there was to do. It's like an example of heaven: imagine you died and got to paradise.
It's an isnd with a house with some attractive girls and everything you could ever want, but you can't leave the isnd. You are trapped doing anything you want. It sounds great for the first 10 years, but what about 1000 and then eternity? It's the same if the box was bigger, like a continent, pnet, or multiverse; you would eventually get tired of existing or go crazy because you have literally done everything there is to do. With this in mind, he had no reason to do anything, much less reincarnate me, but he did. Not for fun, joy, curiosity, or boredom or some fate of the world type situation, but because he could, and that's all.
So I took my time to think and question absolutely everything that other protagonists never seemed to consider. Some examples that I asked in this infinite time and space were: If I reincarnated in Overlord, would I get to have another go at transmigration? Would I be bound to fate like those guys that transmigrated and didn't change anything in the plot, becoming someone who follows the main character like a puppy? Or bound to the destiny of that reality? If I had a nation, would all the people be loyal? If I used my original memories to make a better civilization, everything would go in a good direction all the time with no detractors or the depth of plots and schemes that would most certainly happen in reality. What would happen if I died again? Or would big cosmic entities ignore me because I refuse to believe a guy like Eternity, Death, or OAA from Marvel would let Otakus pollute their realities? Let alone allow them to grow as strong as them with systems and/or protagonist luck and plot armor so strong it kills anything looking at them the wrong way. Or worse, if I choose a multiverse traveling power, would I meet other reincarnated people? I mean, it's fine if it's characters I know from anime, but what about all those greasy and disgusting Otakus from fanfiction? Those stupid organizations that save or destroy realities because the will of the world said so when everything is infinite? Or the young masters? Oh god, the young masters. Like Le Shu Wo, who came from Blue Star and is now surprised he is in Marvel. As a half-Chinese American with the same name he had in his old life, he still loves China and is weak, so he wants to go back until his golden finger arrives. In that case, he is now getting all the jade beauties, feeding them his original Chinese food. All men will lick his boots because Tony is his friend, and Bck Braze Egg works for him, but any other Bck guy will be a violent dangerous beast attacking women left and right, which he will kill with no mercy, trauma, or guilt. (Yes, I have just ruined/spoiled 99% of MTL fanfiction for you.)
With those and many other questions out of the way. I had a few wishes and infinite reality to choose from thanks to Azathoth not caring about anything. Poor old SQUIDDY.
