Ganglord: Rise of the Outsider
Chapter 5: The Training and the Path Forward
Recap:
After unleashing his uncontrollable UI Mode, Daesung becomes a mindless monster, defeating Jihan with terrifying ease. Even Jihan’s ability to copy techniques proves useless against UI Daesung’s overwhelming speed and power. With their strongest fighters down, Allied loses all hope—until an unexpected savior arrives.
Ryuji steps in, confident and unfazed. He faces UI Daesung head-on, engaging in a brutal fight that leaves both warriors near death. Despite the UI Monster’s raw strength, Ryuji's experience, unpredictability, and sheer willpower push him forward. He finally manages to knock UI Daesung down, ending the battle in a narrow victory.
After the fight, Daesung regains consciousness, realizing his body can now handle UI Mode—but he still cannot control it. Declaring Gangbuk under his rule, he reorganizes Allied’s ranks, placing Jihan as his Second-in-Command. With his dominance over Gangbuk secured, Daesung moves toward his next target, preparing for what’s to come.
Daesung:
Hey Tatsuya, what's next?
Tatsuya:
Your fight with Gangbuk made a lot of noise in the underworld, and now many people know about you. For now, we take a break, and during that time, Jihan will recover from his injuries. I will also give you some hardcore training.
Daesung:
Break is fine, but I don’t want training. I almost defeated Ryuji, and people say he’s equally powerful as you.

Tatsuya:
It’s because Ryuji didn’t want to kill you. He just wanted to stop you, and I told him not to deal massive damage. If Ryuji was fighting to kill you, he could defeat you in seconds. Also, when you get unconscious in a fight, there are only 50% chances that you’ll enter your Crazy Mode, and even after Crazy Mode, there’s only a 5% chance that UI Mode will activate. But if you train hard and your body becomes capable, those chances will increase. In my case, my chances are over 80%. But remember, you can’t surpass Crazy Daesung and UI Daesung. When you get stronger, those modes also get stronger—but UI doesn’t have a limit.
Daesung:
Okay, but what’s the difference between them?
Tatsuya:
In normal times, you have 100% control over your body. In Crazy Mode, you have only 50-60% control. But in UI Mode, you only have about 0% control.
Six months later, after hardcore training...
Daesung:
Now, what’s our next move?
Tatsuya:
Your task is to take control of Workers, one of the four major gangs. But before that, you need a signature move. I’ve realized your fighting style, and I think Joon Hah’s Hand Blade is perfect for you.
Daesung:
You mean the King of Seoul?
Tatsuya:
Yes, he was once the King of Seoul. But Tae Jin took his place, and now Joon Hah rules a small area on the east side.
Daesung:
So how do I learn his move?
Tatsuya:
Through fighting and copying his techniques. You’ll definitely learn by doing.
Daesung:
How many members does he have?
Tatsuya:
Three.
Daesung:
What? Only three?
Tatsuya:
Those three are far stronger than many large gangs. You can’t defeat them alone. Take Jihan with you.
Daesung and Jihan go to confront Joon Hah...
