Thread Title: “New Murder Hobo Cape???”
KillSwitch77 – OP
So are we just not going to talk about the fact that some no-name cape stabbed Sunstrider to death and vanished into the ether? Dude just walked in, shanked a literal Vanguard pyrokinetic speedster IN HIS OWN HOUSE, and now we got footage of him ghost-phasing through walls and wrecking junior Watch capes like it’s nothing.
We’re calling him “Eclipse” now apparently??? Any solid info on this guy?
ChickenWings33
New? Maybe. Murder hobo? 100%. You don't knife Sunstrider and cripple Windbreaker unless you’re on your Punisher arc. Also, Eclipse is such an edgelord name I can’t even deal ??
CapeTruthOfficial
Unconfirmed reports say he used a katana. A katana. In 2025. The last time that was acceptable was 2009 on a DeviantArt OC sheet.
SheepWatch
What I don’t get is how he pulled it off. Sunstrider wasn’t just fast—he had thermal precog. Dude could see heat movement three seconds ahead. You’d have to be intangible and unpredictable to get around that. Which, okay, explains a lot, but still—he died. That’s… unreal.
Corpse_Curator
?? I’m not saying the Vanguard’s falling apart, but between the Cardinal meltdown last year and now Sunstrider getting rolled in his jammies by a random street-level ghost boy, things aren’t looking too prime.
PsychosRUs
Lotta people forgetting that this “Eclipse” guy was caught on a gas station camera robbing it, then throwing hands with Windbreaker in the same hoodie. That’s not a professional. That’s a desperate, reckless cape spiraling. He’s not planning moves—he’s surviving.
Void_Rewrite
I ran frame-by-frame on the Leverage encounter footage. Whoever this guy is, he toys with her. Flickers in midair, phases out of her grip, humiliates her publicly. Dude might be cracked. Or suicidal. Possibly both.
KillSwitch77 – OP
There’s also this theory going around that he’s the kid from the Hamilton footage. The one from the grainy stab video. If that’s true, then he didn’t just kill a Vanguard hero—he robbed him first. Which is next-level unhinged.
BasiliskData
Friendly reminder that Sunstrider had enemies. Not saying he deserved what he got, but the Hamilton family had skeletons. There were rumors he wasn’t exactly squeaky clean. Some say this Eclipse kid found something he wasn’t supposed to. ???????
TrollFeast
What if he’s a Reject Project cape? Or one of Dr. Time’s secret clones?? There’s been chatter about “anti-capes bred in basements” since 2023.
DrTime420
i have BEEN saying this. capes are just tools of the elite. eclipse is the first real countermeasure we’ve seen. dark times are COMING. read the chrono-scrolls.
Sleeted
Whether you believe the theories or not, one thing’s clear: this guy isn’t playing by cape community rules. No costume, no handle until the media slapped him with “Eclipse,” no moral code. He’s a ghost with a knife and a debt to settle.
CrimsonComet42
You know what? Good. About time someone turned the heat up on these ivory tower capes. If Eclipse is half as dangerous as people say, I hope he keeps running. The city needs a wake-up call.
KillSwitch77 – OP
Mod just messaged me. Locking thread due to influx of troll theories and borderline doxxing.
But I’m calling it now:
If Eclipse survives the next month, he’s either dead, hired, or leading something big.

Markend, OR — In his first public appearance since the shocking murder of Charlie Hamilton—better known to the world as Sunstrider, the golden flame of the Vanguard—Chadwick Hamilton, 19, broke his silence.
“He was my father,” Chadwick said, flanked by SRC agents and a family lawyer. “He wasn’t perfect, but no one deserves what happened to him. Not like that. Not ambushed in his own home.”
The “that” Chadwick referred to is now one of the most controversial and dissected cape killings in recent history: a brutal stabbing and arson that left the Hamilton estate in ruins and Sunstrider’s secret identity publicly revealed in death. And at the heart of it all stands a singular figure—a person in a bonnet mask, phasing through walls, slipping between capes, and wielding a knife like a whisper of death.
The Superhuman Regulation Commission (SRC) has officially designated the suspect with the code-name Mask, citing their long-standing policy of neutral or non-threatening titles for unidentified villains. Past names like “Snip,” “Mottle,” and “Dipper” follow this tradition.
But the name the public has seized upon is different.
“Eclipse.”
Where the SRC sought to sanitize, the media—hungry for infamy—glorified. The name “Eclipse” first appeared in local news captions beneath grainy robbery footage. Then it spread online—forums, cape watch groups, even tabloid reels. Unlike ‘Mask,’ it stuck.
No one’s entirely sure who coined it first.
“It's the kind of name you give an anti-hero in a revenge flick,” said pop-culture analyst Armin Crane. “Eclipse sounds dangerous. Purposeful. There’s an artistry to it. Which is why it's terrifying. People never liked Sunstrider for a reason and his PR personality was suffering from alleged rumors of his psychopathy.”
While SRC officials have not confirmed any link between Eclipse and other murders, internet communities have begun to draw lines in the dark. A few grainy frames of Eclipse slipping away from the scene of the Dragon Fist bar massacre on January 27 have sparked speculation that Sunstrider wasn’t his first kill—nor his last.
“Two public cape deaths, one month. Both stab wounds. Both ghosted clean,” said crime blogger Cryptix. “You don’t start your spree with Sunstrider unless you’ve already dipped your hands in blood.”
In the wake of the chaos, fear has risen among the cape community.
“He’s not playing by the rules,” said one junior Watch member, speaking on condition of anonymity. “He doesn’t monologue. He doesn’t posture. He disappears. That’s what makes him scary.”
For Chadwick Hamilton, the fascination with his father’s killer feels deeply personal—and cruel.
“He’s not a symbol,” Chadwick said of Eclipse. “He’s not some dark avenger. He’s a murderer. A coward. And if you think otherwise, I hope you never meet him.”
When asked about rumors of his father’s alleged hidden life—secret vaults, missing trophies, Vanguard-sanctioned black ops—Chadwick’s expression froze.
“No comment,” his lawyer interjected.
The room went silent.
SRC Director Halloran refused to confirm if Eclipse—Mask, as they insist on calling him—is considered a priority target, only stating:
“We are treating the incident involving Mr. Hamilton with the utmost seriousness. SRC will coordinate with local and federal cape teams to ensure justice is served.”
Meanwhile, underground circles are buzzing. Some fear Eclipse. Others admire him.
“Whoever he is,” Crane added, “he’s rewritten the rules. Mask is the SRC's name. Eclipse is ours. And that's the story of the modern cape world, isn't it? Institutions versus legends.”

Thread Title: "Mask? Eclipse? Or Something Else? Theories on SRC Naming and the Real Agenda Behind the Sunstrider Murder"
Posted by: GlassLion_404
Date: January 27, 2025
GlassLion_404 – OP
Okay, cape-watchers. You’ve seen the interviews. You’ve read the articles. Chadwick Hamilton cries on camera, the SRC insists the killer is called “Mask,” and yet somehow everyone and their dog is calling him Eclipse. Why? And more importantly—how did this slip through?
This thread is for compiling theories around:
- The true identity of Eclipse.
- Why the media broke protocol and used a “grandiose” name.
- Whether the SRC is losing control of the narrative (or actively shaping it).
- What Eclipse’s real goal might be.
Strap in, this goes deep.
CapeControl69
Honestly? I think SRC let “Eclipse” leak to give the illusion of danger. Mask sounds like something you name a lunch thief. Eclipse? Now that gets clicks. Fear is a better motivator than truth.
FoilTheory
I’ve been tracking SRC naming policies since '21. There’s precedent for this kind of leak—remember how Scarlet Thief was officially “Burglarina”? But Scarlet was sexier, and the news ran with it until SRC caved.
They don’t control the names. Public perception does. The real question is who benefits from “Eclipse” becoming the dominant name?
DrTimeChronicles
Y’all missing the forest. You think names are about branding?? They’re containment glyphs. Naming has power. SRC doesn’t pick weak names to make villains look silly—they do it to dampen their psychic footprint.
They called him “Mask” to suppress resonance.
Now he’s “Eclipse.”
You’ve invited the darkness in.
RuneBitch88
Okay but if Eclipse is really “just a kid” like the footage suggests… why is he moving like a pro? Two confirmed kills, zero forensic trail, AND he's fighting junior capes like he knows their powers in advance.
What if he's not new? What if he’s a former cape-in-training gone rogue?
Edit: It wasn’t confirmed he was a kid or anything, just the major assumption.
WrenchedMeta
Not gonna lie, the theory that he’s a failed Pride recruit has teeth. They do scout younger talents, and if he was rejected—or worse, used—it’d explain the grudge and the precision.
Sunstrider might’ve known him.
Might’ve trained him.

Re: The mask
The bonnet-style mask is weird, right? Not tactical, not intimidating. Almost… old-fashioned. Some say it's a callback to Mourner—the vigilante who exposed the Red House back in '97.
Maybe Eclipse is copying that on purpose. Maybe it’s a warning to the old capes.
“Your time is done.”
GlassLion_404 – OP
Adding one more wrinkle:
The dragon bar kill? Rumor is it was Iron Fang, leader of the Dragon Fist gang. No official ID, but the timeline fits.
If Eclipse is knocking off gang capes and Vanguard elites, what we’re seeing isn’t random violence.
It’s a hit list.
DustFeather
Someone check his targets:
Sunstrider (ex-Vanguard, secret identity)
Iron Fang (gang leader)
Both rumored to be tied to illegal side ops, human trafficking, or black contracts.
This isn't a murder spree.
This is clean-up.
TangentSpiral
Crazy thought: what if Eclipse isn’t a villain OR a vigilante?
What if he’s SRC black ops gone rogue?
They build assassins. Some leak.
You don’t teach someone to phase through walls with a knife unless you intend to use them somewhere dark.
GlassLion_404 – OP
So to recap working theories:
Eclipse is a rogue cape-in-training with ties to Pride or Vanguard.
SRC leaked “Eclipse” for narrative control—or lost the thread entirely.
His kills follow a deliberate purge pattern—targeting corrupt or dangerous capes.
The mask has symbolic weight. Mourner callback? Psychological warfare?
He may have deeper connections to cape black ops, or possibly some form of organization.
Keep eyes open. If there’s a third kill—and let’s be honest, there will be—we’ll know whether Eclipse is a ghost...
Or a goddamn reckoning.

Did anyone save the Iron Fang clip before it got nuked? I only caught a few seconds. Eclipse just dropped out of nowhere—literally from the ceiling—and buried a knife in his throat. No hesitation, one clean motion. Iron Fang spasmed once, then hit the floor.
No fighting. No warning. Just gone.
Also—THE OUTFIT?!
That was full executioner glam. Porcelain mask, slim hat, fitted black suit and tie. Not your usual street-cape armor. Guy looked like a ghost at a funeral.
UrsineActual
Okay but let’s talk about the kill.
Iron Fang’s skin is rated for Class-3 impact resistance. This is a guy who ate rebar during a warehouse collapse and walked away. The man’s been shot at point-blank with nothing worse than a bruise.
So HOW does Eclipse just drop and stab him ONCE, and it’s over?
My guess? Phased the blade into the throat past external dermal plating, then solidified and pulled.
That’s some cold, surgical murder. You don’t learn that at a gym.
GhostCircuit
^^ Confirming what Ursine said: I slowed the vid frame-by-frame (yes, I downloaded it—fight me). Eclipse phases halfway through descent. He’s already inside Iron Fang’s personal space before the knife is visible.
It wasn’t a stab—it was a detonation from inside soft tissue.
Intangibility + weaponization = terminal phasing event.
It’s rare, risky, and unbelievably effective.
ChronoFish
I’m calling it now: the way Eclipse uses phasing is innovative. Most known intangibles use it defensively—evasion, escape, stealth. Maybe the occasional grab-through-a-wall.
But Eclipse? He’s weaponized it.
Stab from inside flesh
Re-solidify for trauma
No need to fight durability on the surface
That’s not just power. That’s practice. He’s trained for this.
RealBlackbird
Reminder: Intangibility powers don’t follow any known laws of quantum physics. SRC’s own whitepaper from '23 says:
“The phenomenon cannot be reconciled with current molecular models. Capes classified as Phase-type possess spatial privilege beyond three dimensions.”
Translation? It’s magic with a lab coat on.
We don’t understand it. So stop trying to logic it like it's a gadget. You phase through something, you’re already breaking rules.
SwanDiveKnife
But can we talk about the visuals?
That suit + mask combo? It’s not just stylish. It’s myth-making.
Like… Eclipse isn’t just killing people. He’s building a legend.
Sunstrider died at home, behind a secret door.
Iron Fang died in his bar, one stab, in front of a crew.
Both felt untouchable. Now they’re just bodies.
That porcelain face? That hat?
It's not a costume.
It’s a death mask.
GlassLion_404 – OP
This is the thread’s pulse right here.
We’ve got:
Confirmed second kill (Iron Fang)
Weaponized phasing—not just defense, but fatal insertion
Iconic visuals: porcelain mask, black tie, no wasted motion
Pattern of high-level targets, taken out surgically, not chaotically
This isn’t a rampage.
It’s ritual execution.
Next question: Who’s next?
DeathLogicX
Watch Seamark and Pride capes.
If another Enhanced-3 dies in a single strike, we’ve got a serial pattern built on intimate knowledge of cape physiology.
That means either:
Former SRC (covert op)
Former Vanguard recruit
Or something worse.
ChalkGhost
Everyone’s scared of Eclipse now. Good.
But what if he’s just Step 1?
What if Eclipse is proof of concept?
Someone figured out how to make the perfect anti-cape assassin.
And now we all get to watch what happens when he goes freelance.

Thread Title: Timeline of Eclipse Sightings (Confirmed & Rumored)
Posted by: FeatherKnife42
Date: January 29, 2025
Hey crew,
Figured it’s time to consolidate everything we actually know about this Eclipse guy. Sightings, name drops, kills, appearances—put it all here. I’ll start with the confirmed timeline, but feel free to add rumors, links, footage, or any unconfirmed sitings. Mods, pin if useful.
Location: Upper Markend Hills
Target: Charles Hamilton, AKA Sunstrider
What Happened:
- First sighting of Eclipse (not named at the time)
- Broke into the Hamilton estate
- Alleged brutal confrontation in the basement bunker
- Mansion caught fire, total loss
- Hamilton’s identity as Sunstrider exposed in the aftermath
- SRC designated the suspect “Mask”
- Eclipse allegedly used phasing to fatally wound Sunstrider with a katana
- No known footage. All info from news leaks and “forensic speculation”
Status: Eclipse becomes a wanted murderer.
Location: Local convenience store, West Markend
Target(s): None—robbery gone wrong
Capes Involved:
Windbreaker (aero-mobility)
Leverage (tether-based flier)
Tigress (shifter-class melee)
What Happened:
Eclipse (reportedly) robbed a corner store (Just why? Seriously? He poor?)
Windbreaker responded solo, got wrecked
Leverage and Tigress followed—led into trap at construction site
Eclipse phased through walls, disabled Tigress, humiliated Leverage mid-air
First known use of the name ‘Eclipse’, allegedly shouted during escape
Minimal video, mostly eye-witness reports and grainy cams
Status: Vanguard’s junior team publicly embarrassed
Location: Dive bar, Coiled Serpent (Dragon Fist turf)
Target: Iron Fang (Enhanced-3, ex-MMA, cape muscle under Pride’s payroll)
What Happened:
Footage leaked (now scrubbed)
Eclipse descends from ceiling wearing full costume: porcelain mask, black suit, hat
One stab to the throat—fatal
No fight, clean kill
Iron Fang known for ridiculous durability—Enhanced-3 means bulletproof-ish
Theorists believe Eclipse phased the knife through and pulled
Dragon Fist’s top enforcer gone in seconds
Status: Confirmed kill.
First time Eclipse is seen acting like a professional assassin.
Why the name “Eclipse”? SRC still refers to him as “Mask,” per their naming protocol. Unconfirmed whether “Eclipse” was chosen by him or the public.
Serial killer or mercenary? Some say both. Others say the name’s popularity comes from a mix of public fear and media obsession with lone-killer anti-heroes.
Was Iron Fang the start of a pattern? Unclear.
Will Pride retaliate?
Most users say no. Dragon Fist was under Pride’s influence, but not “real Pride.” He was just rented muscle, not one of their cape elites.
They’ll probably let it slide—unless Eclipse starts targeting their core.
Was there a pre-Hamilton sighting? Some say a “ghost” broke into another home weeks earlier. No confirmation.
Who is Eclipse working for now? Rumors tie him to Murder of Crows, maybe freelance.
How many others has he killed we don’t know about?
Has he ever been caught on a voice recorder?
That’s what I’ve got. Let’s fill in the gaps.
Replies below—sightings, rumors, theories, memes, anything.
