Chapter 1: Glade Awakening

The Ground Burrower, its squat, muscular form bristling, let out a guttural snarl. It wasn't expecting resistance. Elara, brandishing her newly conjured energy sword, felt a surge of adrenaline. The weapon, cool and light in her hand, hummed with a faint, ethereal energy. She hadn't a clue how to use a sword, energy or otherwise, but instinct took over.

The Burrower lunged, its claws extended, aiming for a swift, brutal strike. Elara, reacting on pure reflex, sidestepped, the energy sword flashing in an arc. The blade connected, slicing through the creature's thick hide with a clean, sizzling sound. A dark, viscous fluid welled from the wound.

The Burrower recoiled, its red eyes blazing with pain and fury. It charged again, this time feinting left before snapping its jaws towards Elara's arm. She parried, the energy sword meeting the creature's teeth with a sharp crack. The force of the impact sent a jolt up her arm, but the sword held firm.

"Okay, this is officially the most intense debugging session ever," Elara muttered, her breath coming in ragged gasps.

She knew she couldn't rely on brute force alone. The Burrower was stronger, more experienced. She needed to use her abilities, her tech-savvy mind, to find an edge. She focused on the "Identify" ability, trying to find a weakness.

  [Ground Burrower (Weakness: Soft Underbelly)]

A small window popped up, highlighting the creature's vulnerable spot. Elara grinned. "Gotcha."

She feinted high, drawing the Burrower's attention, then dropped to a crouch, sliding under its guard. The energy sword flashed, slicing upwards, and the Burrower let out a high-pitched squeal as the blade pierced its soft underbelly.

The creature collapsed, its body twitching. A faint, ethereal glow emanated from it, then faded. A small, shimmering crystal materialized on the ground.

Elara, her heart still pounding, picked up the crystal. She activated "Identify."

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

  [Ground Burrower Core]

  [Level: 5]

[Description: A crystallized essence of a Ground Burrower. Can be used in alchemy or as a magical energy source.]

"Well, that's… convenient," she said, pocketing the crystal. "Like a loot drop from a video game."

She took a moment to catch her breath, surveying her surroundings. The glade, bathed in the soft, ethereal light of the alien flora, seemed strangely peaceful now. The Flutterwing Beetles, undisturbed by the commotion, continued to flit among the luminous moss.

A new window appeared before her.

  [Level Up!]

  [Level: 2]

  [Skill Point Awarded: 1]

"Skill point?" Elara raised an eyebrow. "Alright, Aerthos, you're officially a litRPG now."

She opened her status window, examining her abilities. "Universal Magic Mastery," she muttered, tapping the ability. "What exactly does that entail?"

A new window appeared, displaying a list of magical disciplines: elemental magic, healing magic, illusion magic, and many more. Elara’s eyes widened. "Okay, this is… a lot."

She decided to allocate her skill point to "Alchemy," hoping to gain a better understanding of the magical ingredients around her.

[Alchemy Skill Increased: Basic Understanding of Alchemy]

[New Recipes Unlocked: Basic Healing Potion, Basic Mana Potion]

"Potions? Now we're talking," Elara said, a grin spreading across her face. "Time to put my pocket dimension to good use."

She summoned a small, portable alchemy set from her pocket dimension—a compact kit she'd designed for her camping trips, now repurposed for magical concoctions. She gathered some Luminescent Moss and Azure Blooms, following the recipe for a Basic Healing Potion.

The process was surprisingly intuitive. The moss and blooms, when combined in the alchemical cauldron, shimmered and bubbled, emitting a soft, blue glow. Elara carefully poured the potion into a small vial.

  [Basic Healing Potion Created!]

  [Effect: Restores minor wounds.]

"Not bad," she said, examining the vial. "Not bad at all."

As the sun began to set, casting long, eerie shadows across the glade, Elara decided to find a safe place to rest. She summoned a small, collapsible tent from her pocket dimension, setting it up near a cluster of Whisperwood Trees.

"Alright, Aerthos," she said, zipping up the tent, "let's see what tomorrow brings."
