Thirty: Taron Kingdom - Ricker Dungeon - Rank ? - Location ?

Crap!! Davren said as Slain grew a deeper shade of red looking as if he were either going to explode or launch a powerful attack.

I won’t be able to hold anything back in reserve and save these people. He thought begrudgingly.

Sovereign Shield!! A glow briefly emanated from his body

A solid large brown shield also appeared in Davrens’ hand. A golden lion could be seen on the front of it before he, in a speed that was hard to follow, dashed forward crashing into Slain stunning him and interrupting his attack.

You again, Slain said, Why don’t you just die!! That will be all of your fates soon anyway, no matter how powerful you are.

Immolate!! Davren said through gritted teeth. Breathing much harder than he had before.

Argh, Slain screamed in an ear splitting pitch.

Davren pushed with all his might as Slain aura had reverted to a light blue. Davren realized all he needed to do was outlast him to win this battle. As he pressed his attack beams and blasts of heat, ice, lightning and various other types hit Slain causing even more pain.

Have your win here human, I will return after this dungeon network finishes its upgrade to B- Rank thanks to you. Will you be able to coddle these appetizers then? When I return I will no longer be held by the shackles of this low level dungeon's rank and rules. YOU will be my prize dear food. Slain snarled

Yeah well that's tomorrow's problem, Daven said as he dismissed his shield and rammed his sword through Slain pinning him to the ground. With a slash upwards powered by essence enhanced strength he bisected the beast. He continued to slice it apart until it disintegrated to dust. His vision was then assaulted with the number twenty as the body finished reverting to essence.

Two hundred and fifty experience points.. Whohooo, a male voice sounded from the crowd

Three hundred and ninety five here, a female voice said

Two thirty here.. One hundred… One Fifty nine. Voices continued to count off how much experience they gained as Davren stood exhausted, nearly drained and in complete disbelief.

After catching his bearings Darven looked where Slain died to find objects glimmering on the ground which was turning gray.

Loot!! Said a voice to his left as one of the now freed crowd attempted to push past him to grab an item. Davren used an empowered shove to send the thin man careening into the far wall. A collective gasp came from the crowd which fell silent.

Turning around, Davren addressed them all.

  Look here idiots…. He started

Who are you calling an idiot, a woman from the crowd shouted

The idiots who got themselves drugged and compromised by a shill of a beast. I’m addressing the lambs that were almost led to slaughter if not for me and my teammate. Davren responded

Silence gripped the room as the last person to enter the room moved to assist the boy Davren shoved. Sensing he had their attention Daren continued.

My name is Davren Ramtree, B- Rank Battle Warrior, noble and adventurer from the Taron Kingdom.

Noticing twisting expressions on some of the faces he continued.

I don’t really care what you think about your position, from now on I am in charge. Anyone who has an issue with that is free to navigate this dungeon themselves. Do not follow me or mine, do not ask for a drop of water if you’re on fire.

He pauses to see the response. A group of three haughty looking people who were clearly noble born made their way away from the crowd. Everyone else stayed put, either having a look of fear or uncertainty.

First thing is that this loot, he points to the pile on the ground at his feet, belongs to me. None of you losers helped but Kaylen. Where is she?

Here, Kaylen said in a regal voice. This one a far cry from the fearful tone she had taken in battle.

Second, get to know her face idiots, she will be your liaison. She’s a Duke’s daughter. Do not talk to me unless I talk to you first, you have a question, you pester her. She will tell me and then give my answer back to you. Where is my team?

Here, voices came in unison from the back right.

They are squad one, my leadership group. I don’t care if you bother them as long as you DO NOT harass me. You want to know how you join that squad… you don’t. Third, we do not know where we are specifically, my team came from Taron but i’m guessing many of you came from somewhere else entirely. That thing said something about an F- Rank network of dungeons. Now I don’t know if that means every F- Rank dungeon is connected here or that is only those in neighboring kingdoms . I also don’t know if there are more of you somewhere around here but one thing is for certain if what that beast said is true then i’m the highest rank and this entire network is being transformed to B- Rank.

Gasps sounded followed by whispers and outcry.

We don’t have time for this!! Davren yelled. Why? Because now instead of me building up my brother and his useless friends I now have to train and try to level all of you. The warning of war gave us a timetable which I assume is fast approaching and these beasts will be off whatever leash they have been on. This dungeon is already more dangerous than it’s supposed to be and if the loot received from this beast is any indication it’s getting closer to being fully cooked.

How does he know? A voice from someone who obviously thought they were quiet echoed.

I know because since this all began this is the first boss level beast that has given us any loot. I know this is getting more dangerous because this one was able to speak. Has anyone encountered a speaking beast in any F- Rank dungeons?, he said

The room grew still, the fear could be felt throughout the crowd. No one dared to speak, either because they were afraid or because they understood their situation and that this man was their only hope.

Now I will do what I can to get us through this but I will not promise everyone is going to make it. One thing I will say though is that the three who are likely wandering lost in this carcass will definitely be dead by the morning, whenever that is. The last thing for today is this and it's a sad reality, I need every item from your dead friends scattered around on the ground. I need you all to help remove anything useful or valuable in the next few moments and follow me. One because we will not survive without supplies and skills and two because this place will soon either disintegrate or trap us inside.

The crowd began to panic, some tripping over neighbors in an attempt to move.

Quiet!! A strong female voice sounded slightly stunning the crowd. We were given our orders, now let’s follow them in an organized manner.

Davren was surprised that the voice came from Kaylen. Who stood next to a tall burly black haired man with piercing blue eyes. The man was holding his head in apparent pain. As she spoke Davren felt a wave of calm try to wash over him but resisted it. It had to have been some F- rank ability as he was able to ward it off surprisingly easily. The last thing he needed was someone dulling his senses in a time like this. Recognizing the danger this ability could pose, Davren made a mental note to watch out for him moving forward.

Turning to the loot he was surprised to see a system message floating in front of his eyes.

Battle Warrior title upgraded to Battlefield Commander.
