Statues Doesnt Cry, They Just Watch

Another Wednesday, before school, his parents took Elias Reagan to the common arena where there are four statues.

First, Nerissa. Whom cries to give life and fills the rivers. Her statue has a crying face too. Her right hand on her face, and the other is reaching forward, presenting that she gives her tears to the people.

Then, there was Helion. Whom the sun is jealous of. He gives joy to everyone who ever sees him. He bathes the world in sunlight and warmth. His arms are open towards the sky, he's smiling.

Then, Verdanya. Who owns the nature. She's the Heart of the Earth, she rules what will grow and what will fade. She holds a flower, and the she put her other hand on her waist, smiling confidently.

Lastly, there was Calyxius, who looked so serious. She believed that the world was fragile and needed to be controlled, that perfection could only be maintained through structure. She owned every soul, even the other ruler's. That’s why the people believed she was the highest.

"Hey! Elias! Listen to me!" Elias quickly turned to his mom who was shouting to him to come next to them. Elias realized he engrossed so he quickly ran next to his mother who was now bowing infront of Calyxius next to Elias's sister and father.

Elias sighed. "When will this end?", he thought. He was born in Puebla and he's always been forced to worship these rocks. He never believed but couldn't tell to anyone because of his family's pressures on him and the country's system that arrest anybody who doesn't believe.

He bowed like everybody else. Teachers chant. Smoke and lights filled the air like it’s holy. Elias was silent, he was rolling his eyes behind his messy hair. "This is an absolute nonsence, I hate it." His sister griped his sleeve. “Don’t talk like that,” she whispers, terrified. “They’ll hear.”

Suddenly, Elias' eyes drifted, just like his attention. He saw her. Lilith Tinsley. Hair shining like diamond, walking like she owns the world—and maybe she does. Her friends are talking with her, all of them polished and perfect.

And suddenly he felt a pain on his back. His mom hit him. "Get up, you loose! We are going to the Master of Joy's statue!" Helion.

Elias quickly got up and said, "M-mom, I need to go to the bathroom." His mom gave him a bad look. Elias started running and shouted, "I'll be back real quick!"

He didn't go to the bathroom, he went to to Lilith. "H-hey, Lilith!"

Lilith and her friends turned to him. While her friend's were laughing, Lilith checked him out.

Then she looked to his eyes and said, "What do you want?" Elias stirred in his place, "I j-just wondered... how are you?"

All of her friends busted into laughter and whispered stuff to Lilith's ear. Lilith just stared at him. "Go away." Elias, "B-But..." S

uddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder. "But what?" Elias quickly turned to his back, and saw Miles Brent. Lilith's lover who was loved, popular, handsome and was head of the bully team.

This team tried to kill Elias many times, once they tried to drown him for watching Lilith in the lesson, then they locked him at the girl's bathroom for two whole days for trying to hurt Miles. They always beat him up, at least twice a week.

Elias swallowed and turned to Lilith because he couldn't dare to look to Miles. But Miles pulled him by his collar and lifted him up in front of Lilith.

Her friends started to record them, laughing. Lilith wasn’t showing any expression.

Elias' eyes drifted to Calyxius' statue. It felt like she also looked to him.

Then, Miles punched Elias in the face. Then again, again, again, again, and again. Lilith's friends laughter's were getting loudler.

When Miles throwed another punch, Elias' noise started bleeding. Then, Miles put Elias down, Miles' friends started to punch him from the back.

After some time, while Miles prepared another punch, Lilith suddenly hold his hand. Miles looked to her in surprise. "He had enough."

Miles nodded his head and make a move to his friends to stop. "Let's go, Lilith." said Miles.

While they were walking together, away, Lilith looked a to Elias and whispered, "You will never learn, will you?" Elias looked at her crying. "Eww, what a trash." Lilith's friends said and stepped on him, then went. Elias just sit there, crying.

He looked to the Calyxius statue again, who has watching him. And he thought, “One day I’ll make his world pay for what it did to me, and I’ll make you pay for just watching me suffer.” He was furious.
