Chapter 7

“Oh fuck. That’s a tail.” I told my reflection after I’d woken up in my bed, in my, so far as I could tell, mundane apartment. The only thing different was that the runes were gone from the mirror. Not that I made much progress in examining anything else once I noticed the bck and orange nub protruding from the estic hole in the rear of the simirly colored panties. It extended only two inches or so from the start of my butt crack. Memories of my time on Xianta’s… ship thing? Came crashing in. I remember the thing she called Jasper, how he’d dissolved in front of me. Xianta mentioned something about him being one of the more lucid pets. Then those bottles with the eyes. Was that where she’d kept other pets? If I didn’t complete her tasks, is that how I’d wind up? A semi solid pile of goo?

Her colr still ringed my neck. I felt the soft leather and cool metal of the padlock but I couldn’t see it in the mirror. A gmor hid it? What was the st bit she’d said? About not abandoning pets? Don’t let the MDA find us.

If you're invited to Arcadia, you generally come back. I did not get that impression from Xianta at all. That permeance scared the bejeezus out of me. I’d been wanting what? A break, a little magic of my own or something.

Didn’t matter, I pushed the imagined disasters away. Take this step by step. Finish the tasks as fast as possible and then I could decide what I wanted. Shaking my trembling hands out, I scanned my apartment, building a list of tasks I needed to do to get to work. Calling in sick when I had an interview with an MDA agent would be a good way to get a house call. As I stood there, the ache of the pussy she’d given me edged into my awareness, promising its pleasure.

I dressed hurriedly, putting yers of fabric between my fingers and temptation. The panties were much higher waisted than my usual boxers, probably to allow for wearers with thicker tails, with no shirt on they were very visable. I tucked my t-shirt into my jeans and notched my belt a bit tighter than usual. My tail though, it stuck out from my ass and produced a noticeable bump. With effort, my brain managed to find some unfamiliar muscles and coax it to sit nicely between my ass cheeks. That handled, I combed my hair, shaved, got in the car and went to work. The ol’ routine. Sitting on my tail wasn’t particurly comfortable, but the commute isn’t very long.

The routine broke the moment I clocked in and Agent Boon’s sharklike smile greeted me. He leaned against the employee lockers, arms crossed. “Right on time Mr. Trebic. Is there anything pressing you need to take care of before our interview?”

Damn tail practically sprang out of its hiding pce and I felt it bristle against my jeans. “Aaaah,” I articuted, brain ping ponging between the need to hide my ass or answering the agent, who raised an eyebrow at me.

“Uhh no. I… I don’t have anything that can’t wait so long as the te shift restocked stuff.” There, that wasn’t too bad, I thought to myself. With teeth gritting effort I even lowered my tail.

“Good! Why don’t you stow your stuff and follow me to my office,” his tone put air quotes around that st word. I didn’t actually have anything to stow, been too focused on my appearance to pack a lunch. He seemed to note this, then walked off without another word. I hurried to catch up. I’d expected him to have taken over Floyd’s office, but he instead lead me to a janitorial closet way back in the employee’s only section of the store. The cleaning supplies had been tossed onto a bunch of racks that assembled next to the door.

He ughed when he saw my confusion.

“In cases like this, you have to look for disruptions that the affected have been blinded to. Disrupting the flow of the managerial staff ads artifacts to the observation.” He opened the door and flicked on a light. “Won’t you come in?”

Something about the way he said it, the practiced spider to a fly tone, slipped my mind to Xianta, her swagger as she strode from the mist that had hid her massive body, the sh of that long tail and the swing of her udder. I brushed the image aside and forced a instinctive customer service smile onto my face but as I stepped into the closet, a warm wetness began to creep along the length of the slit my mistress had given me. I tried not to think about it as I sat in the folding chair he indicated. He squeezed around a desk that was just a little narrower than the space and sat down in the most expensive office chair we sold.

He pulled a tablet and stylus from somewhere and started asking me basic questions, name, address, birthday, everything but my banking info. Then he made me answer them all over again except by filling out a form on this tablet. I couldn’t be sure if that was an interrogation technique, or he’d just been too zy to write it down himself the first. Once I handed it back, he sat back in his chair, tossed off his shades and looked at me with pupils that were perfectly square.

“Now Gavin, why don’t you tell me what happened the day the wards were breached.” He asked.

My forehead prickled with the opening of my sweat gnds as I stared back at him. What could those eyes do? I wondered, as panic made me freakishly aware of my body. The ache of my pussy, my tail straining against the seat in arm and my suddenly damp palms.

“There’s nothing to be afraid of, Gavin. You work with fey touched all the time. I’m no different.”

Yes, he was! He was an MDA agent with magic eyes. Who the fuck knew what he could see. I managed to make my mouth move. “I uh. I uh. I was on the floor when the arm rang. I looked up from what I was doing and I saw this… mist or fog flooding in from the entrance. Sherri and… uh Gale were on carding duty and were backing the hell away from it. I saw… a shopping cart roll out of the fog. That's when I realized this wasn’t no imp with a foul mouth and I got the hell out of there.”

“What precisely were you doing when this happened?” He asked. “Specifically.”

Squinting, I tried recalled the moments before Xianta appeared and found myself drawing, not a bnk but a blur. I had been restocking something. “I think I was working with the pallet jack?” I hazarded.

“Is there anyone you typically work with, Gavin? A junior employee?” His weird eyes bored into me as I struggled to keep up with his questions. They were all about my work in the company: when I was promoted? How long I’d been there? Who hired me? What were the names of my coworkers?

Finally, they ended, those eyes looked to the ceiling and agent Boon frowned, tapping his arm rest thoughtfully. “Alright one more question before I let you go back to your job.” He showed me a video on his Tablet, the fog rolling in through the door and Xianta strode out of it. Her body seemed to shine through the blurry pixels and force the electronics to render her more real than the surroundings. Merely seeing her tugged a string of want that vibrated through my body and pulled me to the edge of my seat. “Who is this?”

“Uuuh.” I managed to swallow down my mistress’ name. “A uh really attractive, demoness?”

Xianta winked from the paused screen and ache between my legs turned into a sodden itch. Fearing I’d soak through my pants, I pressed my legs together.

“If you’re in huge tits… or udders.” Agent Boon said with a trace of wistfulness, then coughed, “Not the demon. The man there. Do you recognize the man?”

I followed the angle of his finger to a silhouette of a human that stood in front of her. Where I had stood in front of her. Yet, there was no way that was me. Tall so that ruled me out but way too thick around the middle to be Freddy. “Floyd?” The name came to mind and popped off out of my mouth.

“Huh.” Agent Boon flipped the tablet around and frowned at it. “That’s an interesting answer. Hrrrm.”

“You want me to look again?” A guilt panged in my chest, I hadn’t meant to throw Floyd under the bus like that.

“No. You may go. I’ll contact you if I have more questions.” He said. Still staring at into his tablet.

As I exited the room, I heard him mutter, “She does have a really nice udder.”
