Chapter 15

In a fsh, I stood waist deep in a pulsing fluid that stung my skin like crawling ants. I struggle to see through blinding tears to mold a burning glob of something to match a symbol that burned in my mind. When it fell apart, Xianta’s voice boomed, Again. Do it again. You cannot go back until you master this.

I shook the memory away, into… a sort of hole in my mind where others like it resided. They pulsed with an unpleasantness. I settled in to do my nails, choosing a pastel pink and painting bck stripes over it that made me happy. While I did that, I peeked at those memories that been… set aside. Learning the basics of my mistress’s magic had been about as pleasant as attempting to wrestle a swarm of centipedes but it been done. As I painted the st stripe on my nail, I even remembered why. I’d need it to get in the door at work without tripping the wards. My colr wouldn’t to it for me anymore and I needed to be careful using magic until I had another… meal.

Would Freddy help me again? I wondered as drifted back to mirror holding a tube of lipstick. I pursed my lips as I had seen my mother do, but I’d painted my nails yesterday as an uncritical compulsion. This though… I had no urge to do this one way or the other. Is there any point in covering up your bck lips when you have fuzzy ears and a tail that hangs down to your knees? My left ear flicked in annoyance and the motion made me smile. It was cute, even attached to my face. I was getting cuter. Chuckling I smeared on the lipstick and popped my lips together. Then huffed at my reflection. I looked better with the bck lips.

Oh well, not like anyone, but Freddy would really appreciate the new me. Especially Agent Boon, I’d have to figure out what to do about him soon. Till the MDA packed up and went away, I couldn’t show my stripes. I fished out a fleece bck hat from my ski stuff and pulled over my ears. Just a little white fuzz at the base of the ears stuck below the hat rim. Comfort was far from optimal but the tail stuck down pants leg was far worse.

Once I got to work, I traced a glyph and instantly felt a brick of horny hit my nethers. This was a simir illusion that Xianta used yesterday and I only had a little scrap of humanity left to myself that I’d gotten from Freddy, if I ran out of that, it burn mine which, according to Xianta I’d find myself on all fours, hunting coworkers for meat within ten minutes.

I got inside through the wards, clocked in and suddenly heard Xianta’s voice.

Chaos is the disruption of order. Using it to soothe perceptions is difficult at best, but even the most unskilled channelers can use it to distract. Choose the target of this hex wisely. I doubt you’ll maintain your focus for a second attempt.

Her words caused me to shiver. They had been a memory but I could almost feel a hand on my back, urging me forward. I walked from the employee entrance, lockers to my left and an aluminum dividing wall on the right that separated me from the rest of the store. Ahead of me, a small herd of fellow employees chatted and stowed their belongings. Who? My attention bounced around the faces, several cashiers, Tom in frozen goods and Lisa in her greasy stained overalls from automotive. Then Floyd, the store manager, stepped around the corner of the st locker, wearing his wane smile and carrying a clipboard in hand. I recalled that the image Xianta had repced me with in the video had looked a lot like Floyd. Perfect.

A part of me reached out in a direction that didn’t exist, out beyond the world, and grabbed hold of the chaos that lingered in depths. It came into my being as a torrent, bending around my being and rushing up between my legs. My body obeyed Xianta’s half remembered instructions, cmping down on the throbbing energy, compressing it in a thread of possibility. My leg quivered, threatening to buckle while the energy felt like an endless cock surging up into my womb. A fluttering orgasm sent a gush of wetness spreading through my panties before I got a mental hold on it. Clenching my teeth to maintain concentration, I created the second glyph Xianta had taught me, a complex weave of pulsing threads that trailed from my nails. With a ssh of my thumbnail I cut it off, hooked it using my index finger, and flicked it toward Floyd. His skin rippled as the spell entered him.

I released my hold on chaos. One of my wobbling knees betrayed me and I toppled sideways, hitting the lockers with a bang. All the heads in the hallway swiveled toward me. Brows furrowed as they took in my flushed face and panting breath. Mouths had begun to open to unch questions when the distraction kicked in.

“Ack!” Floyd cried out, both hands flew upward to sp his own forehead. The clipboard he’d been holding cttered onto the polished concrete floor. His knees folded and he crumpled, clutching at his head until his elbows rested on the floor.

  “Chief!”

  “Floyd!”

  “Sir!”

All manner of titles were used as people rushed to assist him as I pushed myself back upright. The mob of helping hands obscured my boss entirely.

“Sorry,” Floyd mumbled, “Sudden onset migraine, I guess. I’ll be fine.”

“You need an ambunce?” Someone asked.

“No. Just… Let me sit in my office in the dark for a little bit.”

I felt a pang of guilt, realizing that Xianta had never told me precisely what the spell did. Too te for that. I walked around the cluster of folks helping Floyd up to his feet. Every step reminded me of the wetness spreading across my skin and the sheer tightness of my pants. I debated ducking into the bathroom to wipe a bit down there before my jeans developed a wet spot but decided that it would be too tempting to do more and instead hoped my apron would cover for me.

Freddy practically jumped out from behind the appliance aisle as I entered my department. “Hey, I need to fork a few pallets. Wanna spot me?” A normal, everyday request, but the flush of his cheeks and the way his eyes dipped over my body brought to mind something entirely different. An invitation.

“Sure.” I smiled, imagining pinning this rger man against a wall or pallet with a kiss as I thrust my hand down his pants.

“Great.” He stepped closer, staring down into my eyes with naked desire. I watched him take a deep breath through his nose. “You, uh, smell… really good today.”

The compliment warmed every part of me. “I do?” I asked as a soft, low growl rolled from my throat. “Maybe we should check to see if everything’s okay in the machine room first?” He started to nod.

“Hey Boys!” A new voice intruded on the moment and we parted like a pair of cats doused with a bucket of water.

Car approached, her heels tap-tapping on the floor and my eyes fixed on the jiggle of her breasts before she came to a stop. She wore a low cut top, perhaps to distract from the yellow colr around her neck, and smiled at us tightly. “Could I get your help this morning? My helper keeps yelping as if I’m going to eat her. If I spend much more time with her, I’m going to start wishing I could.”

“Uuuh,” I considered, it probably be better to hold off pying with Freddy until I really needed it. Just the way he’d looked at me had pulled the tiger heat into the driver’s seat.

“Sorry Car, we got-” Freddy started

“No problem, happy to help.” I concluded and endured Freddy’s pout.

“Great. I’ll go get the vests.” She gave a thankful nod and walked by us en route to the loading dock.

Freddy lingered to whisper, “What about… unscheduled maintenance?”

“Lets wait till lunch, Clock out and find a more sheltered spot.” I said, gnced around and seeing the coast was clear, briefly grabbed his crotch. He turned beat red in the second it took me to step past him. He didn’t catch up with me until I’d reached the loading dock.

Nobody said much until Freddy stepped up into the forklift, then Car whispered, “Getting curvy there, Gav. You wearing hip expanders or…” She trailed off and let her teeth twinkle. “Found something in Wild District, maybe?”

The backup buzzer of the fork lift gave me sometime to think. Once Freddy threw the lift into drive, I came up with, “We’re not a thing anymore Car. I’ll tell you when I tell everyone else.”

“Oh come on Gavin,” She rolled her eyes, “I’m just curious. What’s under that hat? You suddenly grow long flowing locks,” that beautiful grin lit up her face, “or there something else under there?”

Dammit, what did I do? I wondered, the distraction hex clearly hadn’t worked on Car.

“Stop it!” Freddy suddenly thrust himself between us. “You dumped Gavin months ago and it's not safe to be around you so long as you have that thing around your neck. It got all sorts of recording crap in it.

“It does not!” Car bristled and stepped back. “That’s a conspiracy theory. It just has a GPS tracker and I’m at work where I’m supposed to be.”

“You don’t know that. You’re not a safe person so butt out.” Freddy hissed and I saw something wriggle in the seat of his pants as he centered himself between us, protecting me.

“The damn colr’s not my fault! Its a… paperwork error. Nothing more. That damn agent going over everyone with fine toothed comb. He spped one on Herb in meat processing, too.” She insisted.

“As long as you got that thing around your neck, you’re a yellow bellied snitching bitch. Go away.” Freddy said before giving a strange growling squeak. “Find somebody else to spot your pallets.”

There was a moment of silence between them and my fluttering heart filled it. Watching Freddy stand up for me did made my ears burn in an entirely new way.

  “But-” Car started.

“Go Car.” Freddy crossed his arms and stood tall, a tall that seemed a bit shorter than usual but had more force behind it than I’d ever seen him dispy.

My ex-girlfriend gave a frustrated grumble, before turning on her heels and tap-tapping away.

A purr rose in my throat as pced my hand on Freddy’s back and rubbed his shoulder. Parts of me warred over what do say, whether to thank him or tell him I could have done that. Instead, I rose up on my tip toes and whispered, “I am going to fuck you so damn hard at lunch time.”
