Extra Chapter 1

Leonhard smiled, watching the events from his eye implant.

  "What an unexpected scene."

"What are you talking about?" The voice of a girl raised, filled with curiosity.

Leonhard turned to his right. His sister was looking at him with curious eyes, holding a small bag of snacks.

"Is it something exciting? Your eyes glow. Does that mean it is something important, a fight perhaps? Or a raid!" Her ruby-red eyes were shining brightly.

Leonhard smirked. "No, not of that scale." "She probably got bored. I dragged her across two continents, and she has yet to use her powers."

"Then I am not interested." She moved away and almost melted to the plain seat as she relaxed and let her body go.

A small black tentacle-like substance appeared behind her, reaching for the snacks. It split into two at its end, like a tongue, and grabbed a bag of crackers from its bottom.

Another tentacle in a similar shape opened the bag and pulled crackers one by one, feeding them to the girl.

Leonhard chuckled, hiding his mouth behind his hand.

"What?" The girl turned to her twin, still eating the snacks.

"Nothing." *Sigh "You must have been bored, Olie."

"Yeah. There isn't much to do anyway. I was at least having some fun in the attendance matches."

She created one more tentacle and shaped it like the tip of a spear.

"But you said we might see some action here. Right?"

  "His Majesty the Chancellor's words."

"Oh, did he finally become a monarch?" Olie pushed the snacks away with her tentacles and stretched her arms.

"No, he is still our 'democratically' elected head of the United Nations." Leonhard grabbed a tablet from his side and connected himself to the device using a long USB cable he pulled from his neck.

"You may want to see this." He turned the tablet towards Olie, showing the news.

It was an aerial broadcast of small towns around Bakü, one of the three capitals of CaucaussSSR.

Destroyed buildings and streets filled with corpses.

The tri-council leading the country and a representative from Moscow were giving a talk to the local news stations.

"All three capitals are under lockdown. We thank our neighbors for offers for help, but our citizens have nothing to fear as the mighty red army is on its way." Olie grabbed the tablet. "Bastards. Their stupid pride cost them lives, yet they accept no help."

"Walls should hold the bulk of the invasion." Leonhard pulled the tablet from his sister's hands before she snapped the fragile thing.

"Still..." Olie got up. "Alright, I will see action at least."

Leonhard nodded. "Can't deny you that." His eyes glow for a moment. "Our plane is near landing."

"Oh, already?" Olie sat back and buckled her seatbelt.

"This one is much faster." She patted her chair's handrest.

"Of course, after you whined about using public airlines, I had to ask Gray for a private jet."

"Give him my gratitude when you talk with him next time."

  "I will."

Soon, the jet twins approached the airport. Large quantities of military vehicles stood around it. None of them had UN markings. "Why only the government forces are stationed in this place," Leonhard murmured.

"Leo." Olivia poked her brother to get his attention. "You think they will stop us for inspections?"

  "Don't worry."

The private jet landed softly and quickly parked.

A humanoid butler droid exited the driver's cabin and opened the jet's door.

This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it

"We have arrived." Its voice echoed through the sound system.

Leonard and Olivia got up from their chairs and exited the vehicle.

Engines roared as a convoy of military jeeps surrounded the jet, soldiers hastily exiting them and taking positions with weapons drawn.

"I am sorry, but we cannot allow you to exit the vehicle." A higher-ranking soldier stepped forward, a goat-like horn chipped and scratched on his head.

"Really?" Leonhard stepped forward, pulling out some papers from his pocket. "I don't remember quarantine being a procedure under enemy raids. We also have the paperwork."

  "Sorry, but orders from higher-ups."

Leonhard looked around. All soldiers were well-armed.

"An airport is a critical infrastructure, but the enemy is not even here. Why are they- the devil in the detail." His eyes spotted something, and he smiled. "Ah, your good-for-nothing mayor's prick of a son is here." He pointed towards a private jet slightly larger than the one they exited.

  Soldiers reached for their weapons.

"You have a loose mouth, kid. Go back to your vehicle, and let me talk with your father there." The high-ranking soldier stepped.

"You called for me?" A commanding voice echoed as a man, almost 3 meters tall, showed himself.

He put one hand on the soldier's shoulder, his long golden hair hanging down, covering the sides of his face. "Are my children causing you trouble, sergeant?"

Despite that, all the soldiers surrounding the twins knew who had just arrived. They dropped their weapons and greeted him.

"We greet the Chancellor!" All said in unison.

"Ch- Chanc-" the sergeant gulped. "I mean, sir, what brought you..." He finally processed what the man said.

He bowed down. "I am sorry I didn't know."

Leonhard and Olivia glared at the Chancellor. "We neither."

The Chancellor pushed the sergeant away and hugged the kids. "Oh, don't say it like that. You two are like my kids." He turned him to the sergeant. "I am borrowing these two."

A red lightning hit where he stood, and the trio disappeared.

  "Sir, should we search the..."

"No." the sergeant exhaled. "Just leave the vehicle untouched."

***On the other side of the city, where the trio reappeared.

Olivia quickly pushed the man away. "What was that!"

"Well, it's always good to shake things up a little. Keeps people on their toes, especially people who prefer bills over lives." The Chancellor turned towards the city outskirts. "I am sorry. I know you are uncomfortable with me, but it's good for the people, so can you two do me a favor, please?"

  "No." Twins said in unison.

"Pretty please?" The Chancellor connected his hands.

"Where is your dog? Wasn't Younglaw with you back in the facility?" Leonhard glared to the man.

"He is being punished for his incompetence."

  "And the winged ones?"

"Too busy waiting for a purge order."

Leonhard moved forward. "Then father found the source of the corruption."

"He still outdoes himself after all these years. Yeah, he did, almost half the cabinet." The Chancellor sighed and sat down on the edge of the wall. "I need to cut them down all at once to stop any bloodshed they may cause, but my assets are spread too thin." He smiled at the twins. "Help me here, will you? Not for me, but for the humanity."

"Convincing bastard." Olivia stepped forward. "Alright, what do we expect."

"That." The Chancellor pointed towards the giant dust cloud approaching their position.

Behind the veil of dust and dirt was a massive monster, standing taller than fifty meters despite running on its fours.

The ground rumbled with each step, sending cracks spidering across the pavement. Dust and loose stones leaped into the air. It was as if the very earth recoiled in fear.

No soldiers were present in the area, but it didn't they let the beast alone.

Jet fighers passed above the beast, thundering roars of their engines following them from behind. Five of them fired countless missiles towards the monster, their explosion almost consuming it in a ball of fire.

But the beast jumped out of the explosion, slightly damaged, but unshaken.

"Though boy, don't let it hit the wall, and don't worry, I will stop sorties in this region till you took that thing down. And bye!" With another lightning, he disappeared.

"Big beast," Olivia muttered, her ruby-red eyes narrowing. "Let's hope it lasts more than a few seconds."

Leonhard knew what his sister was thinking. "Alright. It is all yours, sister. Go crazy." He sat down. "Not like I have any equipment to fight in the first place."

"Finally!" Olivia jumped down the massive reinforced concrete wall.

Walls stood twenty meters tall, yet looked like speed bumps compared to the beast charging at them.

Soon, the beast entered the sight.

"Leo, this thing reminds me of a rhino. Just more bug-like and with battering ram-like tusks instead of horns." His brother didn't hear her, but he nodded, guessing what she meant.

Once determined it was close enough, she released a black mist from her body.

The mist quickly took shape and rushed towards the giant beast, crawling around it.

"Fell in my lap." Olivia smiled, her pearl white, sharp teeth showing, and her ruby eyes burning.

With one command, thousands of tentacles lashed out from the mist cloud and strangled the beast. Stopping the beast instantly.

She ordered her tentacles to lift the beast while the mist carried her towards the monster.

She clutched her fist. "This thing is weak. I get excited for a fight in months, and that's all I got!" She turned around, her mist carrying her toward the walls.

She didn't even watch her tentacles slowly twisting the Crimson and tearing its flesh until they ripped the monster apart.

When she reached the walls, she made her mist lift her back to the top. "I can't believe that bastard made us come here for just this." She pout.

"Well, I guess he could take it down too, but I assume he didn't want his presence to get detected." Watching the decimated corpse of the beast.

"Ugh, who cares." Olivia sat down. "At least the people are safe."

Leonhard shook his head. "Sadly, this is not the only siege attempt." He smiled. "Other sectors are under attack, and I want to help people there. Will you join me?"

"Of course! Bored or not, one must use their power to help others. So where they are?"

"On the northern sector, just follow my pointing."

A platform of black mist solidified beneath them, carrying the twins toward the northern sector.
