Episode 2: Alice and Uni Make Three

It’s been one month and one week since I told Maybelle that I’m willing to take in more chibis, and now she arrives. Lay is starting to learn basic words and numbers. Right now he’s napping. Maybelle has just arrived, and she is carrying a lone carrier, which is odd because I thought she was bringing me two chibis. When Maybelle and I are face-to-face, she tells me that this carrier is specially designed to hold two chibis.

I also notice that she is holding a silicone bag with the Gaudium seeds like before I led Maybelle inside to the Neonatal Nursery. Maybelle hands me the carrier, and I push the button, bringing down the shutter, revealing Alice and Uni. The two are sleeping side by side, cuddling each other close.

I turn to Maybelle and inquire.

Seth: Is there a reason these two are so close?

Maybelle: You see, they were born at the same moment, and in the nursery, they somehow ended up cuddled together like that. No one could explain it. Since then, whenever they are separated, they cry loudly.

Seth: I see it looks like I won't be needing the dividers this time anyway. Should we get ready for the video?

Maybelle readied her phone. Soon I opened the carrier and scooped up both Alice and Uni in my hand. I then posed for the camera. Pretty soon the two began to let out some soft yawns as they began to nuzzle into my hand, and I silently screamed out of pure delight.

Maybelle was silently filming as I began to feed Alice and Uni. I filled a bottle with twice as much contents so it would have enough for both of them.

Soon Uni began to lick his lips happily.

  Uni: Satisfied Coos

Seth: Well, I’m glad you like it, cutie.

  Alice: timid, curious Coo

Seth: Oh yeah, I should probably introduce myself. Ahem. Alice and Uni, I’m your Papa. I’m going to take really good care of both of you.

  Alice & Uni: Worried Coos

Seth: Yeah, that’s understandable, but I promise I’m not scary. You’re both going to be loved.

I soon place the two in the bassinet.

  Alice & Uni: Curious Cooing

After a few moments, the two let out a relieved sigh before drifting back to sleep. That was the cutest thing I have ever seen.

Maybelle handed me their shared file and asked to see Lay before leaving. I switched the nanny cam to the neonatal nursery, and I took her to where Lay was napping as we walked there. Maybelle hands me the bag of bulbs as we get closer to the Transitional Nursery. Lay makes himself known.

  Lay: Papa! Papa!

  Seth: And here we go…

Maybelle: Well, they usually are incredibly rambunctious.

We soon enter the room, and Lay lets out a loud squeal, standing in the crib and shaking the crib bars, but upon seeing Maybelle, Lay’s expression turns to a face of uncertainty.

Maybelle would begin to chuckle. I would then scoop up Lay, and he would nuzzle in my arms, but he keeps his eyes on Maybelle, his expression worried.

Soon I would begin to get my little one changed and dressed in a soft bunny onesie with a tail and hood. I look over to Maybelle, who was happily writing down notes. Maybelle would happily tell me that she would need an update on the Gaudium Bulbs and how they are growing. I promised to give her a full report.

Now with three Chibis on my hands, I would become busier than ever. Hopefully I could properly manage my time better.

With Maybelle gone, I would notice that Lay’s mood would begin to shift; he seemed to be a lot happier. I would then take Lay back to the office where we would do our little routine, mainly practicing walking and learning more words, colors, and shapes.

Lay impresses me every day. He’s getting a grip on counting and pronouncing words perfectly, and he’s doing so well with walking. At the end of our routine, we end up watching some TV together. Lay really enjoys this show about smiling animals who learn lessons from a magical faerie Queen it’s really cute. I soon check my phone and see that Alice and Uni are calling out. I let out a sigh and turn off the TV, causing Lay to whine.

Seth: I’m sorry, hun, but we need to move to another room. Come on, it’ll be quick.

Lay lets out a huff but agrees. I soon take Lay with me to the Neonatal Nursery. Upon entering, Lay is intrigued by the small yelping noises. I chuckle at Lay’s intrigued face.

I soon take Lay to the adjacent room, and I place him on the bed, putting up a rail along the side of the bed so he doesn’t fall out. I then move to Alice and Uni, preparing a bottle. This one is going to have apple and strawberry essence. I soon come over to my little ones; oddly enough, they sound like kittens.

Gently scooping them both into my hand, I grab the small bottle and walk to the Father Chair, and I begin to nurse the two. I notice that Alice and Uni take turns when drinking from the bottle; they truly are siblings, almost like twins. When the contents of the bottle are emptied, I put the bottle on the counter, and then I proceed to give the two nuzzles with my finger while also telling them about my day.

Seth: So my day is going well. I have three cuties now, and I love you all.

  Alice: Satisfied, Coos?

  Uni: annoyed Angi Coos

Seth: Hehe, Uni, are you unimpressed by my day?

  Uni: agreeing, Coos

I would let out a low chuckle.

  Alice: worried Coos

Seth: Alice It’s ok, we’re not fighting, and Uni, I’m still going to talk about my day.

  Uni: Angi huffs.

I then continued about my day, and about three minutes in, these two were fast asleep. I would place them back into the bassinet and walk into the adjacent room. There I would find Lay; he was napping. I looked at my clock and saw that it was about to be Lay’s nap time. I would let out a sigh.

And Scoop lay up in my arms, and I gave him cuddles, so as the months passed on, I would be caring for all three Chibis, and though it was hard, I do not regret it in the slightest.

At night I would be working in the garden room planting the seeds. There were two of each three, so six in total. Luckily, Gaudium plants take 9 years to grow to maturity. I’ll probably not be adopting any more Chibis by then since I’ll have six to care for.

With the bulbs planted, I would need to closely water and monitor their status.

I sleep whenever I get the chance, but it’s all incredibly short-lived.

As Alice and Uni develop at a steady yet calm pace, slowly exploring their movements and letting their voices be heard is the best part. Uni’s voice is full of feistiness, while Alice’s voice is soft and timid.

I think they're a good balance for each other.

While Alice and Uni improve, Lay is so close to the socialization stage to prepare for it, I’ve been potty training him, which has been an ordeal in itself.

But we’ve mastered it. I just hate doing it because Lay is one step closer to becoming an adult and not my baby anymore, and it hurts. I let out a sigh and continue to care for my Chibis, continuing to do my best.
