CHAPTER TWO

Springtrap screamed as he flailed, his voice audibly distorting. Spinning around, he could only flail his arms and legs.

The rabbit landed with an audible thud and an oddly bitcrushed grunt. Golden Freddy and Puppet slowly floated down.

"What the hell is this," Springtrap demanded as he sprung up, "Where in the bloody hell are we?!"

  "We're-" Puppet started.

Springtrap's attention had darted elsewhere, however, "You motherfucker, you pushed me!!"

Golden Freddy stared back, "If I hadn't, you were gonna keep complaining like a baby."

Springtrap growled, but then realized something, something of a much more pressing issue.

  "Wait, wait... WHERE'S TRACY???"

Springtrap was immediately on the verge of panic, trying to find his precious axe, but Puppet stopped him.

"Relax, relax. Our bodies work... differently in this world, it's hard to explain. Your axe is still with you."

Springtrap stared at Puppet, he did not trust him as far as he could throw him, which was pretty far given his brute strength, but he groaned.

"She better be, because otherwise, it's your head."

Puppet, if he could roll his eyes, would've.

The three started walking through the digitized land. Springtrap looked around in discomfort, the blue VHS-like trees staring back.

"Everything here feels a lot freakier..."

"You'll get used to it." Golden Freddy didn't even turn around to address him.

Springtrap huffed, then turned to Puppet, "So this is that 'Flipside' place you were talking about, mmm?"

  "Yes. It is." Puppet nodded.

"Riiiight, and why does it look like this?"

  "I couldn't tell you."

"Okay, whatever. But where are we heading to, anyway?"

Golden Freddy turned, slightly agitated, "We didn't even know this was here, Springtrap, we know just as much as you do."

Springtrap recoiled mockingly, putting his now pixelated blue hands up in faux defense, "Woah-hoah-hoah! Somebody's getting a little fussy!"

Golden Freddy turned back and continued to walk, grunting an angry "Shut up!"

  Stolen story; please report.

Springtrap smugly smirked, and Golden Freddy simply tried to not let it get under his skin, they had a job to do, after all.

For now, they just needed to find an opening.

Searching around, Springtrap could see nothing but trees for (what looked like, at least) miles and miles, "Does this place EVER end?"

"I don't think so..." Puppet sighed.

Springtrap grumbled in response, his ears lowering, staring at the ground.

He regretted that choice. He immediately began to lose his balance.

There was no ground. It was the same dark blue, static void underneath him, as if he was floating in air. The rabbit began to wobble with a yelp, almost falling over. He immediately staggered and, stretching his arms out, slowly balanced.

Golden Freddy chuckled, "This really IS your first time, huh?"

Springtrap glared at Golden Freddy, "Piss off."

Puppet just rolled his eyes. This was like managing two little kids that wouldn't get along.

Eventually, they came across something different. An orange blob, squishing and stretching as if it was slime.

Springtrap approached it steadily, lightly touching it, and then...

  -

  "AGH."

Springtrap landed on his stomach, Golden Freddy and Puppet following, falling over on their sides.

The rabbit stood up, shaking his head, before letting out a ragged huff, "I guess falling is the new way of entering rooms."

Golden Freddy and Puppet stood up, looking over their new surroundings, a place they all recognized immediately.

  "Oh..."

"What the hell...? Thought this place was torn down." Even Springtrap couldn't hide his confusion.

The rotted boards immediately stunk up the room, but despite the dried paint and peeling wallpaper, it was easy to determine where they were.

Puppet slowly shrunk over to their old music box, next to the destroyed Kids' Cove.

  "I remember this. Good times."

Springtrap just stared, before realizing something, he quickly forced his hand to meet his back, and pulled her out.

"Tracy, you're okay!!" The rabbit yelled, immediately forgetting everything and happily hugging the axe, his tail lightly wagging, "I thought I lost ya for a moment, don't ever scare me like that again-!"

"If you're done having your emotional reunion with your girlfriend, we've got work to do." Golden Freddy side-eyed him, giving him a look of confusion.

Springtrap quickly regained himself, and cleared his throat, strapping his axe onto his back, "Right, right..."

With that awkward note, they caught up to Puppet, who had started floating down the main hallway.

  "Found anything?" Golden Freddy asked

"No," Puppet sighed, "Just a lot of abandoned stuff."

"I don't understand why the trail would lead here. What would a killer want with this place?"

Springtrap snorted, "Funny you think it's still just 'some regular killer'."

Golden Freddy turned to the rabbit and deadpanned sarcastically, "Well, with the mysterious Flipside portals and abandoned locations from our past seemingly being rebuilt, of course I assumed it was a natural killer, Afton."

Springtrap and Golden Freddy just stared each other down, Puppet getting in front of them, "Guys, we have no time to argue right now. We gotta try to get to the bottom of this, can you two please stop fighting like children for five minutes??"

Springtrap and Golden Freddy were quite quickly silenced. Puppet huffed, and continued to float down the hallway. The rabbit and the bear just glared at each other, before going along.

  -

Golden Freddy pulled open the rusty door to the Parts and Service room, a bunch of dust flying into the bots' faces.

"Agh- Damnit!" Springtrap roared, trying to rub the dust off. While Golden Freddy and Puppet had brushed themselves much easier, Springtrap, as an older, already decayed suit, did not have that luxury.

As Springtrap cursed up a storm (in a manner that would've made Foxy proud) behind them, Golden Freddy and Puppet searched for anything they could find.

  "Goldie, look at this."

Puppet picked up a piece of scrap paper, with Golden Freddy going by his side to read.

"It's the same cryptic messaging as the mirror, but it looks like an alphabet key."

  "That's good." Golden Freddy grinned.

"Al-alright," Springtrap joined them, his nose twitching violently despite cleaning most of the dust off, "We done here?"

  "I think so..."

  "Great..."
