Chapter One Forty Trials in the Forest

Dreading what she might find, Milith stepped into the room. It had been a couple of days since she’d rescued the town, but there was no helping the time spent here. From talking with the local women, she’d heard about this particur pce. Supposedly it was a clinic, but the local girls said there was something more going on in this building. Upstairs was just a typical looking birthing clinic, well, an Abyssal birthing clinic, but what she was finding downstairs was rather different. Still being operated by brainwashed women she hadn’t yet gotten to, she found it was another chamber of horrors.

Only it was clearly a b, off to the left several pregnant females were being monitored. They had a pallor that didn’t exactly look healthy, but Milith didn’t look into them right away. Instead taking a moment to clear the brainwashing of the b girls. Who were also typically pregnant.

Coming to the first of the pregnant females and her pallor she asked. “So what did you four do to these girls?”

The first girl replied, “Well it was just a standard test, we took freshly procured premature babies and injected the fetus with a poison. The poisoned fetuses were then impnted into these pregnant mothers.”

  “Standard? You’ve done it before.”

“Sure have, the Mistresses take great pride in developing better toxins, this test is always very informative.”

Milith sighed, “Of course it was something like that. What’s the poison for?”

“It’s supposed to make the mother quite sick, and kill her babies. This version is the test refinement and its working much better than the st test. Mistress has been rather pleased.”

Turning to the first of the pregnant test subjects, Milith started working to diagnose the poison, how far it had spread and what she could do to save them. Abyssals were certainly good at making a big mess of everything. “What does an Atarli even want with a baby killing poison like this?”

The second of the four b girls replied, “It was a request from someone in Abyssgate I think.”

“So you don’t really know,” commented Milith. “Now, what is this about Abyssgate?”

The girls shared a look, “Um, its somewhere the Mistress goes every few months to sell the roasted baby meat. We, uh, don’t really know where it is.”

She sighed, “Of course you don’t. Are there any other projects I should know about?”

“The mistress was running several projects involving premature infants. We’d be happy to expin them all to you.”

“Wonderful,” replied Milith with a ft tone. Figuring she’d find out sooner or ter regardless of her feelings on the matter. Something that proved quite true when she checked out the next room a few minutes ter. Stepping in she had no words, just a string of curses.

Emily shifted her weight and pulled herself into position. Up in the branches she had a better view of the path ahead. Beside her she heard a buzz as Amber settled on the branch beside her, “See I told you.”

“So you did,” replied Emily as she observed the battle. Up ahead was an army of Mapri Bees engaged in a skirmish with Armalisks. The bees were one thing, but the Armalisk was one monster she’d hoped not to see. She sighed, “Looks like we need to take a new route, I doubt that battle will end any time soon.”

It really didn’t look like it would end soon. Magic flew as vines entangled brutal Armalisks, or fire rained down on them, only for magical shields to protect the armored creatures. Who barreled forth into the ranks of the bee girls, who used their wings to try and keep distance. At the rear, other armalisks flung rge projectiles into the air.

It was hard to keep track of numbers but there were easily a hundred Armalisk down in the clearing. The Mapri outnumbered them, but they were individually weaker so it banced out. From what she could tell the two forces were evenly matched and not making any headway against each other in any way.

“Well there is another path, but it will take us longer.”

  “Longer?” inquired Emily.

“Yeah it would take a few more hours then going through here and we’d be closer to Armalisk territory.”

“Wonderful, well we better get going then. Hopefully we can make up the time ter.”

Amber’s wings started to buzz, “Sure! I’ll show you the way, and we can bring your cart.”

That was nice to hear, she’d been worried the forest path wouldn’t allow it. Dropping from the tree she braced for the nding, and made for the cart, her gaze on the naked bee girl. As adorable as Amber was, she couldn’t help thinking about how she was a monster. A friendly one perhaps, but a monster nonetheless. Was it really a good idea to trust her as a guide? Her gaze turned back to the clearing, down here her view wasn’t as good, but she could hear the noise. Then again it wasn’t like she had a better pn.

Reaching the cart was an easy walk, as she’d left the cart and horse just a shortways back on the road. Cmbering into the driver’s seat she gnced back to notice Megan was fast asleep but Celine was awake keeping an eye out. “Mommy?”

“It’s okay, just taking a look ahead. Nothing to worry about.”

Emily wasn’t entirely sure about that, but her words seemed to reassure her young daughter. Amber beamed and then gestured to the right, “New path requires us to go back to the st fork then take the right path.”

“Easier said, but I can get us there.”

Amber nodded, “I’ll watch for any stray Armalisks. If there is a troop here, there are likely more in the trees.”

Emily shuddered at the thought, as she got the cart turned around. Thankful she’d picked a cart of lighter construction. She hadn’t needed the big heavy carts favored by merchant caravans. This one was designed to be pulled by a single horse and built out of lighter metals and wood. A cloth canopy covered the rear where her daughters could ride with their supplies. Nothing all that fancy really, but she didn’t want something that would stand out either.

As the cart rumbled down the path already traveled, Amber took the chance to recim her previous spot in Emily’s p. Emily sighed, “Really? You just said you’d...”

Amber giggled, “I can watch from here and I like your p!”

Emily looked down at her wiggling and making herself comfortable. It was kinda adorable, but it didn’t feel like the right time. Flushing a little, she said, “So, um, are battles like that common?”

“Sure are, the Hives are at war with the Armalisk Queens. We don’t exactly get along.”

  “I guess you wouldn’t.”

Amber looked up at her, “You guess? They are fucking menaces, taking women, even ours and turning them into brainwashed breeding stock.”

Emily shuddered as she was reminded about Armalisks. Their nests were far from pleasant pces. Mating with an Armalisk was a... painful experience, and those girls were brainwashed into doing it willingly. The scars of the experience usually stayed with the girls rescued, but they were never the same. The brainwashing venom was a potent mind altering substance.

The two chatted for a while before they found their turn, and then made their way down a new route. Emily started to rex when she noticed Amber behaving more rexed. It seemed they’d managed to avoid a rather unpleasant entanglement.

With time to spare, Efim left the inn with the innkeeper, not really knowing what he would do after he got someone to look at his sword. Turning his gaze to the demonic foxkin, he noted she’d changed outfits but was still wearing something cut so her boobs were out. “Do you like your boobs exposed or something?”

She giggled, “Sure, its a great attention grabber and I have good ones.”

Efim had to admit she was right, they looked fun, “So where’s that weaponsmith?”

  The dy smiled, “This way.”

She led him down the street and past several lightly dressed demon women and more than one shop before they reached a modest building on the north side of town. The innkeeper turned, her short skirt fring and revealing her bare pussy. It seemed to hover far too long and it took him a moment to realize it really was. She giggled, “I need to get you out of that armor. Anyway we are here.”

She pulled him inside, and he took a look at the weapons on dispy. Just as a snake girl slithered up to him, his gaze fell on her tail. It was long, covered in sturdy scales that glittered in the light, they were quite pretty actually. The outfit she was wearing, however, was little more than straps and hooks for her tools, leaving everything on dispy, including a rather rge bosom. The girl smiled, “Welcome! Looking for a new weapon? Or just here for maintenance.”

He pulled his sword from his belt, yet he couldn’t help staring at her rge bust. It was so perky, the nipples glistening with just a bit of moisture. Down lower, below a well muscled belly was her gaping pussy. “Yeah... um, my weapon needs some...”

She took the weapon before he could finish, and drew it, “Serviceable, but barely. I think you’d be better off with a new weapon.”

  “A new sword? I don’t know...”

She chuckled, “Taya? Could you get him out of that armor?”

  The innkeeper grinned, “Sure thing!”

He blinked, but didn’t fight her too much. Down lower he could feel his member pressing against his crotch guard. It was almost uncomfortable, but only for a moment before the armor was released. As it came free to reveal his figure, the snake woman licked her lips, “Yeah I thought so, you are quite the catch. Tell you what, you have sex with us until we are happy and I’ll give you a new weapon. You can put this one on a wall or something, after I clean it up. It will make a good decorative sword, but it’s pretty much at its limit.”

He’d been afraid of that, but sex for a sword sounded pretty good. Efim nodded, “Uh, deal.”

Then he regretted it for a second as he fshed to the girls, but he didn’t have time to think on it before he felt Taya pressing her breasts into him. The snake girl moved in, and pulled them both into the back, where there was a rge low bed waiting for them.

Emily gnced up at the sky, seeing the moonlight shine through the canopy above. She’d pnned to stop by now, but with the detour they were further behind schedule. Next to her Amber was curled against her, the young bee girl seemed sleepy, but wasn’t yet asleep. It had been a long day for both of them, the bee had even spent some time pying with her girls earlier. Just not without supervision, Emily had watched them carefully, but the longer she watched Amber the less wary she felt of the bee. Monster or not, she did seem to be an honestly good girl.

Emily was tempted to stop the cart and make camp, but they were close to town. She may have packed tents, but that was no substitute for a proper inn. Seeing a curve in the road, she signaled to start turning. The horse dutifully turned a little, bringing the cart around the bend in the path and bringing buildings into sight. A sturdy wooden palisade, with two towers on either side of a gate. She smiled, they were finally here. She jostled Amber a little, as she was dozing off. “We are almost there.”

Amber looked up, and energy returned, “Yay! We can have so much fun!”

Emily chucked, as the cart rumbled up to the gate. A moment ter a young dy wearing nothing more than a belt with a spear in hand and a shield strapped to her arm walked up to her. “Evening travelers.”

Emily stared at her bare breasts, “Um, evening?”

Amber giggled, “Oh? Did I forget the girls here don’t like clothing either?”

Emily was tempted to give the bee a look, but the guard started speaking, “Just here to stay the night or will you be here longer?”

“Just the night, I’m heading to Bordertown for a funeral. Sad news aside, I am looking forward to seeing my brother again, he’s the guildmaster there.”

“Oh? You are a Greybeard? I’m honored that someone from such an esteemed family is visiting our town. May I see your travel papers?”

Emily produced them, and the guard looked them over.

“A bit te aren’t we? Well I guess with the battle going on out there you needed a detour.”

She nodded and the guard moved to open the gate, saying, “Enjoy your stay. I recommend the Bouncing Bee, best inn in town.”

Another guard commented, “you mean the only inn.”

“Hey, it’s not my fault old Hilda closed her inn.”

“Well I don’t bme her. She’s got one foot in the grave, and her daughter ran off to be an adventurer.”

“The Bouncing Bee? I’m not familiar with it.”

Amber commented, “Oh! I know it. My sister moved into this town a couple years ago. It’s her inn!”

Emily blinked, great it was run by a bee. She wasn’t sure if that bode well or poorly. Still it wasn’t like she had better options. Not to mention camping didn’t seem safe, not with Armalisks out wandering the woods. With those thoughts in mind, she headed into town.
