"What should I make?" Momona opened a fridge and looked through it.
"Ah, yeah, bacon and ham omelets should be good." She got to work cooking everything when Kelk walked up to her.
"Bun. I saw how you acted. Are you projecting on the girl?" Kelk watched Momona stop for a moment, then grabbed the handle of a pan a bit too tight.
"No, I'm not. She's... in a far more difficult situation than you know, and she needs to know someone cares." Momona poured egg into the large pan until there was a full layer of eggs that sizzled on the pan.
"Those things are not exclusive, Bun." Kelk put his hand over hers as he spoke.
Momona softly pushed his hand off and added cheese, bacon, and ham to the pan before folding the omelet. "I'm going to focus on cooking, and you should too... please?"
Kelk sighed and lingered next to her and watched her put the omelet on a plate. "Don't overdo it. It'll make it worse for both of you."
Momona silently made 2 more omelets and brought out the 3 plates outside. One omelet alone would usually feed three adults, but she could only hope it would be enough for the hungry Wolf vampire waiting for her.
She already knew where Echo would sit and went to join her, greeting all of the people who said hello to her on the way.
When Momona got a good view of Echo and Marri, she squinted at them, not sure if she was seeing things right.
Marri was tapping the table with her sharp nail over and over. She was staring daggers at the empty glass in front of her with a bit too wide eyes.
Echo seemed stressed as she took another sip from her drink. Marri's angel looked at Momona and gave short mew, the cat asking for help from the bunny.
"What happened?" Momona slowly asked as she sat down the plates.
"I gave her some of what I was drinking, and she's having a... bad reaction?" Echo glanced at Marri, who switched to drumming her fingers on the table.
"What did you give her?" Momona sat next to Marri and slid an omelet in front of her.
Echo glanced over to Marri and braced to get yelled at. "Crim drip."
Rage filtered through Momona's face as she pressed something on the table, a small opaque bubble popped up around them and blocked off sound. "You gave her highly caffeinated blood?! Why?!"
Echo scratched the back of her neck. "She asked for some... But I really thought the caffeine wouldn't affect her much! The sedative we gave her did absolutely nothing."
"It made me very numb and hard to run." Marri chimed in as she poked at the food tentatively.
"But you literally sprinted like a mad woman through a labyrinth to the exit and climbed a wall faster than we could get over our shock at the sight." Echo retorted as she downed the rest of her drink.
The whole time Marri had the mask on was fuzzy, but the struggle she had with it on was still fresh on her mind. "I thought you were going to put me back into that box I woke up in. Of course I ran."

Marri picked up a metal fork and accidentally crushed it in her hand like it was made of styrofoam. Her eyes widened and bit her lip, trying not to get upset. "Ah. I'm sorry, I just grabbed it, and it just crumpled."
Momona stared at fork, contemplating what would have happened to her if Marri didn't hold back when she grabbed her arm. "It's fine, dear. It happens. Just be careful. if you did that to a person, they would need to go to the hospital."
"Right..." Marri mumbled as she used the mangled fork to start eating. The moment she tasted the omelet, her eyes dilated a bit and focused entirely on eating.
"Do you think she'll be fine?" Echo asked as she stared at Marri, devouring the omelet in an increasingly ravenous manner.
Momona shoved another omelet towards Marri as she finished the first and watched as she immediately switched to eat that one. "To be honest? I have no clue. Hybrid races don't exist, and she's well... a lot of things."
"I poured over the rest of the notes she grabbed, and it was incredibly demented but I only figured out 2 things." Echo pulled a folder out of her coat and opened it to see a bunch of gibberish on the paper inside.
"What is this? You said you read these?" Momona grabbed a few of the papers and peered closer, trying to find the trick to read it.
"It's one of the ciphers the scared use. I've been looking into them for so long that I can just read it normally." Echo explained as she pulled some translated papers from the folder. "These are some of the more tame notes I'm willing to show because they won't make you want to vomit."
"Fantastic." Momona murmured sarcastically as she read through one of the reports. Report 19 This is by far the most promising chimera yet. It seems pure human that fractured is the most stable core I've ever seen. They said the supplements will be arriving soon, and we can really get started on project Hungering Chimera.
A deep scowl formed on Momona's face as she thought about what she read. "What the hell does this mean? Fractured human?"
"My best guess they forced her to break and... undid? Molded? Changed her into this afterward, but it doesn't really say why she has so many different traits from wildly different races. It's just absurd to think they turned a fractal back into person, but I'm apparently looking at the proof of it. " Echo said as she watched Marri eat the entire second omelet faster than the first.
Marri finished the omelet and went to reach for the third but stopped and shook their head.
Momona smiled at Marri's restraint and cut the last omelet in half. Giving one half to her. "This is the last you'll get. The rest is mine, dear."
"Thank you." Marri said as she started to pick at the omelet instead and focused on the conversation while eating the omelet in small bites. "What were you two talking about? I zoned out."
"You really weren't listening?" Echo asked, surprised. She really expected Marri to stay paranoid at all times for a long time.
Marri grimaced as she thought about it herself. She put the fork down and watched her angel nibble the omelet. "It's hard to focus on other things while I'm eating... although I'm repulsed by the act of... you know, and it stopped my sleeping self from killing Momo."
Echo and Momona had grim looks on their faces until Marri accidentally said Momo and then giggled. Marri blushed and hid her face behind her hoodie.
"I didn't expect you to get so comfortable with me so soon~" Momona teased with a smug smile on her face as she started eating.
"Y-you feed me!" Marri blurted out, trying to cover up the more embarrassing reasons.
Echo coughed and changed the subject, sparing Marri from the smug bunny. "So, are you still hungry?"
Marri glanced at her status and frowned. "I feel better, but it says 57 percent. I have like 2 hours. The crim drip was the only thing that affected it."
"Well, I guess we're going to the other place." Echo pulled her phone out and checked the time.
Momona glanced over to the kitchen and gave the angel a final pet as she got up, grabbing the 3 empty plates. "I'm going to stay here with my husband. I don't belong there."
"Belong there?" Marri questioned with a head tilt.
"It's called a vamp bar, and you can get some fresh blood there." Echo gathered her papers and the things she took out of her coat.
"I'll get you a phone to use by tomorrow. I have one collecting dust in my house." With that, Momona turned off the bubble and left for the kitchen.
"Alright let's go. I'll tell you about what we talked about on the way there." Echo rose from her seat and made her way outside.
Marri got her angel back on her shoulder and followed after Echo.
Everyone said bye to Echo and several people tried to introduce themselves to Marri but she gave them a short greeting and left before it could go any farther.
