Chapter: 5
Disposal
Deciding to not keep his presence hidden anymore Caleb jumped from the elevation down, *crack* the stone under him got smashed under dust as he landed a few meters down having already played around a bit with the limits of his body, he knew what was wise to do and what not. There were barely any at all due to his undead nature and absurd health bar. Caleb knew he barely had any Mana left but didn’t care, he just didn’t know if them leaving would count as clearing the dungeon and harm him in return. Following up he activated his skill weapon change. Making his long sword appear, he only now noticed a description for it but didn’t bother to read it, they were already barely in his sight anymore. Flexing his legs he shot forward leaving a cloud of dust in his wake his making it anything else but quiet.
Jacksons pov:
He truly hated that guy, Rodemir did nothing else but insult him and his skills, he also didn’t really contribute to the fights. He knew he was from a rather wealthy family, before the integration happened. But him even being a dick as humanity got their ass handed to him was beyond his understanding.
Jackson: “We should go on we haven’t even spotted the Boss of this dungeon yet.”
Rodemir: “It would be better if we go back and lick our wounds, it’s too risky, a few more of them and we are finished, maybe we sell even the recording for something.”
Alice: “I don’t know, if we don’t finish our Job pay will be bad and the economy is unstable, we need the money.”
Jackson: “Our wounds? You barely did anything you didn’t even get a scratch you lazy fuck, how many spells did you cast two? Or have you already forgotten you oh so wise caster?”
Sarah: “Stop acting like assholes to one another, Rod is right if we don’t leave now, we might lose a few levels and our equipment.”
Jackson: “ugh, but only under protest.”
Right as he said those words and turned around to leave this ominous deathtrap. A loud sound was audible behind him, they turned all around drawing their weapons before deciding to take a good look. What they saw made their eyes go wide, they were in big trouble now. Behind them was a large, armored figure, with burned armor and a long-scorched cape. The metal screeched as the dark figure dashed forward at incredible speed. Its dark blade reflecting the light of the eternal eclipse. The cherry on the cake was the obscene health bar and title of the boss “Lord of ash and fire” Jackson barked orders to his teammates as the figure charged forward like a train.

Caleb’s pov:
He knew he was still unsure about his enemies but still decided to face them head on. He dashed to the knight wielding a shield and short sword. The Equipment looked rather lacking, crude even. As he reached the ten-meter mark he activated dash catapulting him even faster toward his adversary Sword raised high. He could see the eyes of the guy widening as his sword seemed to block out the light, while also coming down like a guillotine. The knight raised his shield which to Caleb’s surprise got shattered immediately, his sword digging deep into the shoulder, a scent of burned flesh was noticeable. Did his weapons also burned his flesh; was it really hat hot? He was pulled out of his wandering mind by the scream of the knight who was wailing in agony. Getting slightly annoyed by the scream, he put more force in his blade basically cutting the man in two. To Caleb’s surprise the body shone in a bright blue light before disappearing, only his equip remaining. A notification popped up min the corner of his vision.

So, he got rewarded for killing invaders? Another reason to kill them. His gaze landed on the Priest who looked in horror at him. Well, another walking bag of XP begging to be unwrapped. He activated dash once more only in a few seconds covering the 30-meter distance. He felt an uncomfortable feeling when being close to her, just something about the light she was using bothered him greatly. Wanting to get rid of that sensation he thrust his sword threw her torso impaling her like a shish kebab. Before he could grin at the next sensation he felt a faint pain in the area of his lower hip. An icicle protruding from it. Turning around he saw the guy with the weird hat having his staff raised and his own health bar in his upper left corner of his vision.

I was distracted and this was the best he could do. Rushing forward he just barely avoided an arrow hitting him, he shot the archer a glare before continuing his approach on the mage. He wanted to try out scorch on a living test subject. With an open hand he gripped the Head of the poor soul. His Gauntlet encompassing his entire head. He Gave the mental command. A sudden burst of flame burst out from his and, burning a foot wide hole in the man’s head, The flames even coming out from the back of his head, the corpse slumping to the ground before disappearing. The archer gulped as she saw the hollow sockets turn her way.

“Hmpf still not enough to test out everlasting mark” looking with a bit of disappointment at his screen, a faint sizzling sound still audible from his hand. “guess I should take care of her too…hm…let’s do suffocate I’m curious how it works” sending out the mental command, small trickles of ash inched closer to Caleb’s body gathering at the tip of his right hand until a head sized ball was levitating above it, before launching itself at the retreating archer, closing in rapidly before colliding with her. Rather than just disappearing each grain forced itself in her nose and mouth. Only after a few seconds she laid on the ground clawing at her neck trying to spit out the ash, but it lodged itself inside her repertorial system. It was a gruesome `death` but interesting nonetheless, the spell could surely be countered by avoiding it or covering your face with something but for anyone else it would bring a sensation that was surely unpleasant and with the last notification the battle had ended.
