Behind the right front, mages of all the ranking were stationed. Bella, Adrian, and several B-ranking mages stood in front of two huge bluish healing spheres. The human hostages who had been saved lay within the healing spheres, while Bella focused on casting heal on any adventurer that was injured in the front.
Bella looked around the battlefield, her eyes darting to the remaining goblins on the battlefield. "Looks like we'll be winning this fight without any loss," she mumbled. Bella turned her attention to her left, looking at Adrian Weeble. "How much mana do you have, Adrian?" Bella questioned as she looked at the young mage.
Adrian took a moment to think before answering. "I suppose I am at one-fourth of my usual level," he answered, looking into Bella's blue eyes.
"That's good. Try not to get a burnout then, the battle should be over soon," Bella stated. A loud kaboom sound caught her attention. Bella's eyes quickly went to the center front. She looked as Ais spell's boundary shattered, mana particles dispersing into thin air.
"Why'd she stop her spell?" Bella questioned with a confused expression. Her eyes quickly narrowed as she looked at the massive long rocky spikes that had emerged from the ground.
"Was the landscape always like that?" she questioned, her expression turning into one of bewilderment.
Adrian glanced in Bella's direction. "Did you say something?"
Bella waved her left hand dismissively. "Oh no no, I was just talking to myself," she replied. , she thought to herself. Her thoughts were almost immediately interrupted when a sharp sound entered her ear, it was a scream that came from the distorted landscape. Bella instantly accumulated mana around her body to decrease its effect on herself, though everyone else wasn’t as prepared as she was.
Adrian’s grip on his staff loosened due to the sound. It fell on the floor as he brought his hands in front of his ears to prevent his eardrums from bursting.
Everyone else on the battlefield was affected similarly or worse. Several hobgoblins on the farther end fell to the ground due to the sheer pressure of the shockwave, while Blake Rose and other A-ranking adventurers tried to stop the sound by putting their hands over their ears.
“Veil of the Goddess!” Bella yelled, and with her command, a massive blue circular crest appeared on the ground. Its area covered all the adventurers in the right front and the people that were placed in the healing spheres.
A light bluish translucent sphere emerged from the crest, separating the adventurers and the few goblins that were within the area from the outside. Bella looked at her barrier rippling from the sheer shockwave of the scream.
Bella brought her right hand in front of her right eye, her hand enveloped with a dense aura of ice magic. It was her attempt to use the ability of God Eye to get a closer look at the scene.
Bella's right eye glowed with light. She closed her left eye and focused solely on seeing what’s happening in the front. Bella noticed two large mana pools from the rocky arena, one was evidently Ais’s. Bella could never mistake her mana pattern. The other one though… it belonged to something else. “And how does it have such a mana pool…” Bella added, with a slightly terrified expression on her face.

Bella turned off her ability, a sense of urgency now in her mind. She turned to her left, her attention going to Adrian. "Are you alright?" she questioned as she quickly walked towards Adrian and crouched down next to him.
"I think..." Adrian replied. He removed his hand from his ear, his eyes widening as he saw blood on it.
"Intermediate heal," Bella mumbled as she placed her hand right in front of Adrian's right ear. A bluish aura emitted from her hand and healed Adrian's ears in an instant. Bella stood back up again. She glanced at the center front. "I think we should go and assist them," she added in a stern voice. "Can you get the communicator from the supply crate?" she questioned Adrian.
Adrian nodded at Bella's request and quickly moved back towards the supply box, searching in the crate for the communicator.
Bella looked around herself, noticing the other mages who were themselves as injured as Adrian. "Light affinity, Areal low heal," she mumbled, and struck her tree branch like staff's lower tip on the ground. Like a rippling effect, a light magic circle was formed on the ground. It wasn't a high heal spell, though it was enough for the mage’s back on their feet.
Bella's eyes turned to the battlefield. "We need a close combatant…" she mumbled under her breath as she looked around at the adventurers. Her eyes stopped at Rose Weeble. "She is an A-ranking swordmaster…, and I also patched her up," Bella mumbled. She nodded at her comment and added, "Yeah, she would be the perfect choice."
The person who was affected the most by the Goblin King's scream was none other than Alan. Having no mana in his body had drastically decreased his durability. He was confident in his close combat abilities, though a scream? That’s not something he had prepared himself for.
Alan's breathing came in gasps as the loud sound entered his ears and rippled through him. His ears, nose, and eyes began to bleed just from the sheer effect of the shockwave. he thought as he was brought to his knees in a moment.
This was the opportunity the Goblin King had been waiting for. With a quick dash, he appeared right in front of Alan. He dragged his right hand backward and, with his full force, punched toward Alan. His punch struck the ground with a loud thud, making a huge crater in the ground. Though his target, Alan, was now nowhere to be seen.
"Are you alright?" Ais questioned in a troubled voice as she placed Alan's body along one of the rock spikes, taking cover from the Goblin King. She glanced at Alan’s body, noticing the effect of the shockwave, his fingers bled through the nails, eyes bloodshot red due to the vessels popping off, his eardrums ruptured and blood coming out from it. Ais thought to herself as she bit her lip due to a mixture of anxiety and anger at herself, causing a drop of blood to drip from it.
She placed both her hands on Alan's chest. "High heal," she mumbled, and with her words, bright yellowish light released from her hands and enveloped Alan's body, healing all the injury at a rapid pace.
Alan's eyes opened again. He looked at Ais through his bloody eyes. , he thought as he opened his mouth to breathe since his nose was filled with blood. He took several desperate long breaths despite the pain he felt in his mouth and throat. Alan felt unbearable pain during the attempt to breathe, but he knew it was necessary.
Alan thought as he clenched his fist. I might've died he added mentally, as he remembered how he was about to be punched by the Goblin King in the state he was currently in.
"Don't try to speak for now," Ais whispered with a serious look on her face. "Just give me a moment. I'll heal you,” she added. Her attention snapped to the right as a loud sound caught her ears. The Goblin King had punched and broken a rock wall at the side. “He's trying to find us,” Ais thought to herself. "Who could've thought the Goblin King could do such a sound-based attack?" she whispered.
"I surely didn't," Alan replied in a low voice, his mouth now healed from the injury.
"You can speak now, huh?" Ais said with excitement in her voice. "Just a few seconds more and I'll be done with your internal injuries," Ais added as she closed her eyes.
In roughly half a minute, Ais stopped using her spell.
Alan was finally healed. He used the rock to sit back up as he spat the leftover blood from his mouth. "I could've died had I been any closer," he said in an apologetic tone, his gaze lowered, unable to look at Ais' face.
