Chapter 2: Shadows of the Seventh Floor

  The chilling revelation shocked everyone especially Scott and Carter, If Marie had died two years ago, then who did he speak to at Carter’s house ? Was it a trick? A soul? Or something even darker?

  Are you saying that I saw the shiner? asked Scott. Carter took a deep breath, "If what you’re saying is true, and if it really was Marie, then this hotel... this Hampton Hilton... it’s not just haunted. It’s cursed.". We need check the hotel list again, all the reservations and the details of them.

  They went to the hotel again, checked the list, they saw a name by M it was Marie-Antoine, they revealed the truth, but something caught the eyes of Kane there was name George-Antoine, they thought it was somebody related to Marie, they turned the page and found the name Emily Carter, it was Carter’s wife, the rumor was that she was passed by a car accident. Emily, George and Marie were from the Carter’s family. They thought shiner had something with the Carter’s family. Kane told maybe they want revenge, but Carter couldn’t understand why. There was many other writer’s singer’s name. The receptionist said that this hotel was really famous before, but after this incident lots of celebrities was not found. Kane told them to go to his house and have dinner there.

  As Scott and Carter left the hotel, the heavy snowfall still going on outside, but their minds were racing. The strange discovery of the list had only deepened the mystery. The names of Marie-Antoine, George-Antoine, and Emily Carter had left an unsettling impression on them. Why were these people went missing, and what was the connection to the hotel? How could a hotel, which had once been so vibrant, have transformed into this ghostly soul?

  As they drove through the snowy streets to Kane’s house, Scott couldn’t help but feel like they were getting closer to the truth. But the truth was a strange thing. Suddenly, Scott thought of seeking into the hotel from the back door. The were about to reveal the truth about it. Kane thought it was a wise idea, he drove the car back through the heavy snowfall again but this time the car stopped, it wasn’t working.

  Kane attempted to restart the car. The engine sputtered once, twice, but then fell silent, as if the car itself had decided not to turn on. "Great," Carter muttered under his breath. "Just what we need."

  Kane stepped out of the car in the snow. "Let me check under the hood," he said, though there was a sense of hesitation in his voice. He knew this was no ordinary breakdown.

  But Scott won’t give up easily, he and Carter went to a nearby store to take some materials to fix the car, he got it. It took an hour and a half to finish the breakdown. They went to the hotel it was dark outside no one was outside. They easily found the back door entry, luckily Scoot had his keys to his room. Carter entered the hotel, it’s silence was unsettling as they stepped inside. The smell of old wood and dust, Carter’s boots made soft, echoing sounds as they walked through the corridor. Scott followed closely, his mind still buzzing with the discoveries from earlier. The list of names had shaken them both, but something about the atmosphere here felt off. More than haunted.

  "Let's keep moving," Scott said quietly, breaking the stillness. "The longer we stay here, the more I feel like we're being watched." They made their way to the stairs, but before either of them could press the button, a sudden cold gust of air swept through the hall. Carter froze. "Did you feel that?"

  Scott didn't reply immediately, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the hallway around them. It was as if the wind had come from nowhere, Kane told them to move on and do not bother about the wind. Scott went up to 7th floor, but while passing they saw a luxurious room. Kane told them to open the door, they opened the door, they were all shocked.
