“One cannot change one’s identity, just as one cannot blow out the sun.” - Averick Tellings
Chapter Sixteen:
I opened my eyes. Somehow, I had not died. Perhaps the bullet had somehow missed me. Yet, who was that man? How did that man even exist? Everything existed within The Room, as the entire world is The Room. How then did that man come out of the wall, and even exist? Was there perhaps more beyond The Room? No, impossible. Or is it? I looked around The Room, searching for the man. I couldn’t see anything, everything was bck. “What the heck? Why can’t I see? Did the lights turn off?” I said aloud.
‘Wait, am I perhaps dead?’ I thought grimly.
Suddenly, the world turned bright, and as my vision recovered, I realized that I was still within The Room. There were a few irregurities though. On the floor, in front of my feet, sat the gun that the man had been holding. The man was nowhere to be seen. And most worrisome of all, was the me that was sleeping in my bed.
