The dragonaught (Chapter 2)

'WHAT?!' I screamed, startling Max  'Y-yeah did you not know that?' replied max unsure if Brody was ok or not. 'No I'm not ok, I just learned that most of my kin are stuck at common or uncommon, is it really that rare?'

'For most races no the chances of each Rarity in order from common to mythic is (55%) (25%) (10%) (7%) (2.5%) (0.5%)

however for dragon kin since they already have such potential the chances for them are (80%) (15%) (2.5%) (2%) (0.49%) (0.01%)

Due to this strange occurrence the power that each rarity give's wich by the way is how fast you gain exp and how many stat points you get for each level is doubled so since common is a 1x boost all dragon-kin have at least a 2x boost'. Max explained

'Okay' I said. 'So what is the usual boost each Rarity gets'       Max responded. 'Each boost is slightly different for each species but only by a maximum of 1/100th of the total boosts but to awnser your query directly (1x) (2x) (4x) (8x) (16x) (32x)' 'Well then that means even as an epic I can match the power of a legendary is there any way to increase your rarity?'

'Not in any safe way if you manage to complete it or find a non dangerous way to do it'people will pay you good money and it's legal, somehow I don't know who thought it was a good idea to make it legal. But it is.' responded Max

'Alright do you know any way to increase the rarity at all' I prodded

'No and we should probably start walking now if we want to get to the village anytime soon' 'alright Max'

Three boring hours later and a lot of walking I have relised that the forest has slowly grown quiet over time so I asked 'Hey Max have you noticed that the forest has grown quiet?' Max responded in a much quieter tone 'yeah I have, and it's not a good thing, we need to stay quiet' I just nodded as I herd a quiet rustling from around a tree about 30 ft away.

Then on of the largest freaks of nature I have ever seen rounds the tree. It was an ugly mix of a black bear and a turtle In a way that makes me want to vomit... and it looked straight at me, and started approaching us.

I panicked and quickly turned towards Max and asked 'What do we do!?!?!' And Max looked at me then he said to me 'you are larger than it with claws that could gore it with little issue so aim for the throat!' And by the time I could process what he just said the creatively named turtbear was within 5 feet of me I swung claws out and herd somthing disgustingly similar to fabric tearing and a somewhat viscous warm liquid coating my claws as a sickly unsetling and inherently evil joy filled me when I saw the light fade from the turtbears freakish eyes a notification appeared

  'Well leveling up is good'

'It is' Max replied 'and you got 16 skillpoints, right?'

  I responded 'No I got 32'

'Oh right you're a dragon-kin, lucky bastard' Max grumbled to himself.'So anyway what are you going to spend them on' max continued

'Hmm' I thought back to the days I could spend t hours everyday playing videogames and remembered that I often went for heavy melee builds or tank builds but the only thing I could think of at the moment was my favorite Villan "juggernaut" and then I had a very bad Great idea so I thought of my status screen and it appeared

While I was observingmy status screen Max had starting butchering the armored bear. 'I'm not a big fan of this whole thrill of the kill thing'

'I'm sorry, what?' Max worryingly questioned as he stopw butchering to look at me with a face riddled with concern.

'I have an affliction called thrill of the kill,' I responded

'Oh. Sh#t, well, that's bad,' he casually said with a look of deep concern.

'Why is it bad?' Max didn't respond.'Why is it bad!' I repeated in a worried tone

'If you get hooked on the feeling/ affliction'thrill of the kill,' it could lead you down a very bad path involving the harm of many innocent people'

'Oh... Oh, that's not good,' I said, worrying over who I could become deciding it would be better to focus on other things right now. I go back to the status screen and add 16 points to both

I still have the sickening joy, which is rather nice, but now that I know what could happen, it seems a lot less so

'By the way Max how and when does one unlock their class and/or subclass'

'Well brody, most people get their class around Level 15 and subclass at 30.' Max responded.

  'Thanks.'

'Yeah, no problem, brody, but you have some weird gaps in knowledge, you know that?' Said Max.

  '... Yeah, I know,' I said

Well, anyway, we should get on our way', Max aid as he finally finished butchering the carcass.

  'Alright' I agreed
