Rai was standing in front of the wooden fence that circles the entire village; to be exact, this is the part of the fence that was near my home.
The fence was made to be sturdy to keep the wild beast out of our farm; it's wide enough for one of his legs to step in comfortably.
This is the first idea of his new training regiment.
He will walk on the wooden fence as my balance training.
Doing it while opening his eyes as a test, he started walking on it; the result is he cleared it easily.
Okay, the test is done now for the real thing. Coming back to the starting place, Rai closed my eyes and took one step forward.
One step, two steps, three... and he falls down.
Even though the fence is not that tall, losing your footing can really make you surprised like no other.
Smiling as he gets up, Rai starts to climb the fence once again.
“Hmm.” He gathers my strength and takes one step forward.
Walking on a fence, while not a crime, is definitely not something that you usually do. That is why he is doing it when the sun is almost down, as the villagers are already in their homes at this time.
Rai walked with his arms spread wide to the side, like a bird ready to fly in the sky.
“Hmm hmm hmm-hmm-ack…”
Falling once again, he returned to the starting point and started walking once again.
…
After falling off the fence once again, Rai realized it is nighttime already, time for him to return back home; he patted his body to remove the dirt out of his clothes.
Closing his eyes, he sharpened his senses and put his leg forward, one at a time, toward my home.
Getting up in the morning, Rai got up from his bed and began the second idea that he got from watching a cat.
He sat and spread his leg, trying to touch the end of his foot with his hand. I stretch it as far as my body allows it.
Cats are flexible creatures; there must be a reason for that, right? Maybe it was needed to balance itself out.
His second idea is born from that kind of thinking, and now Rai adds stretching to his schedule to make himself as flexible as a cat.
Thankfully, this is his rest day, so that means he can continue doing this without worrying about farming work.
Stretching is kind of easier than he thought it would be.
Is this normal?

Hmm...
Better not think too much about that. If I am flexible, then isn’t that good enough?
That was what Rai thought as he made his way to my backyard where his shooting target was located.
Rai archery is getting better and better; he can get some headshots from the scarecrow 4 out of 10 shots, and today as well, he will continue getting better and better...
Washing his face after shooting training, he went to get the food for the livestock.
Today is Rai's rest day, but it didn’t let him skip feeding the animal.
Watching them while feeding, Rai gets closer to the cow and touches its udder before starting to milk the cow.
Drinking the fresh cow milk is the only good thing I know of about being a farmer!
Between my training and my farming work, I continue to pass my days
... But the content of my training is still the same as ever.
Thankfully, my balance training bore fruit because instead of walking like a drunken blind person, now I can walk like a normal person while closing my eyes.
With that I can finish most of the training, but that is also the time when Cain made the training harder.
He tied a piece of meat in front of a dog and made the dog run after it.
While the dog is running after it, Cain told me to get the dog with my eyes closed.
He also hid more than twenty pieces of meatball all over the forest and asked me to find all of them, with my eyes closed, of course.
But the worst part of all, he told me to search for a ball of yarn that he casually tossed into a river.
Diving while searching for it was a nightmare, especially since I still needed to close my eyes while looking for it.
I failed multiple times before succeeding.
The reason was because I have finally adapted to my super hearing; combined with my improved sense of smell, I managed to barely recover the yarn that I failed multiple times to get.
It was amazing how much a human can do if they put their mind into something.
When I finally finished that test, Cain finally said that I was done with training my sense of smell, and I can stop drinking that cursed potion.
Oh, how glad I am that I can finally stop drinking that cursed thing. They said that you can become used to anything if you do it long enough.
But it seems I still have not tasted that cursed thing long enough, as I still can’t get used to the rotten egg-like flavor …
But now it’s over; I can raise my hand in celebration, and at the same time as I completed my sense training, I also completed my archery training and proved to Cain that I am a capable archer.
You know there is a clear difference between shooting an inanimate object and shooting a living thing.
The most obvious one is the inanimate object is not moving while the living one ... moves a lot.
That doesn't matter to me, of course, as I shoot them dead all the same.
All things are equally dead when I am done with them... heh, that sure sounds cool in my head.
But, you know... this is getting really boring!
You know the feeling of everything being just the way you want it without any problem.
Yeah, it's what I feel right now.
With my archery ability already proven good enough, Cain just let me hunt to my heart's content, and the result just spoke for itself.
A mountain of meat and fur
While Cain looked at my job, I started to think
Maybe, just maybe, I can do some blind shots, you know, shooting with your eyes closed.
I already train like that a lot, so why not take it all the way and do some blind shooting?
The prey won't even see it coming... because I can't either, hahahaha.
So while Cain is packing all the meat and fur into the bag, I close my eyes and draw my bow.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
Clearly, Cain senses what I am about to do as his instinct warns him about something about to go wrong.
But too late, 'Father.' This shot is about to get its first prey; whether it's a tree or some rabbit did not matter.
Let the arrow of unknown fate fly free...
"Stop that!"
A dull thump resonated in my ear as my 'prey' that I did not know had already gotten shot
"What did I get!"
"Huh?! How!'
Ohh, from the sound of it, I succeeded on my first try. I opened my eyes and looked in the direction of the bloody smell.
My first prey that I got with my blind shot was a small bird; now its lifeless body lay on the ground.
Now that is what I call a surprise shot.
This is going to be my favorite shot of all time.
Rai smiled as he thought of all the things he would do in the future with this new kind of archery.
