The Dominion of the outer Wills.

Verily, it is spoken in the most hallowed tongues that in the elder dawn of all makings, when the stars were naught but scattered embers upon the sable veil of the void, and the worlds yet lay formless and unborn—a god of ineffable puissance and origin, dwelling beyond the utmost firmament, from whence sang nine and ninety seraphim in endless paeans of its glory, did rend forth a shard of its boundless might. With but a gesture, whose echo did shudder the womb of the burgeoning cosmos, the god did hurl this sacred fragment into the heart of the infant deep, that it might become vassal and sentinel of the Divine Will—a Will not begotten of treachery, nor compelled by any hand but its own. And lo, unto the other gods that circled in the outer dark, those deemed false and profane, to acknowledge it was made a harrowing testament: a beast wrought not in mercy but in dominion, to be ever a remembrance of that god’s unyielding sovereignty and a herald of its wrath everlasting.

But lo, Fate would not keep her silence whilst such a dread travail unfurled. Nay, the stars themselves did tremble as the deed was wrought. And it came to pass that the gods who beheld this blasphemy did rise in defiance. Each, in turn, did cast forth their own vassals and tore fragments of their own divine will, hurling them unto the wide and yawning firmament. Thus was kindled the Great War of the Gods, a celestial strife for dominion o’er the boundless veil of creation. And in the maelstrom of that war, the god of death was struck down. Yea, the very shard of death, which bore the mantle of its dread power, was seized by the Outer Will. What befell the other gods is veiled in the mists of time. Their voices waned, and their thrones grew cold. And so it is believed they went silent, and silence was their final dominion, as indeed they were in great fear, but of what kind, nobody knows.

  And thus, it is,

The Dominion of the Outer Will spreads forth unto the whole of the universe.
