Chapter 8: THE LIGHTNESS OF LAUGHTER

Before setting off for distant planets, the two friends visited the rising moon that orbited the world with its shimmering rainbows. As soon as they set foot on its surface, they glanced back at the planet, now floating in all its splendor on the horizon.

The landscape of the moon was marked by gentle hills and towering mountains. Small, round fruits and colorful flower petals floated through the air, playfully dancing in the warm breeze, filling it with their sweet scent. Everywhere they looked, green plants, pink blossoms, and fluffy clouds created a dreamlike setting.

Two monkey-like creatures with soft, shiny fur and pointed ears were giggling on a rocky ledge. As Artemis and Helios explored the moon in wonderment, the friendly Kenoyms peered down at them with curious eyes.

The larger, blue Kenoym leapt skillfully from its perch and landed gracefully in front of the two visitors, leaving behind a small cloud of swirling leaves. With a playful grin, it asked, “Are you looking for a reason to laugh?”

Helios responded thoughtfully, “Actually, we’re trying to learn more about life. But who knows, maybe humor is an important part of it.”

The Kenoym chuckled. “Oh, most certainly! The meaning of life lies in the joyful moments we share with each other. Fun and humor strengthen the bonds between our hearts and allow us to see the wonderful sides of life.”

The smaller, pink Kenoym, who had also approached them full of curiosity, added, “Laughter is like the sun after a storm. It brings joy, even after the darkest days. And have you noticed how contagious it is? They say it spreads like the flying fruits here on our moon, reaching all corners of the cosmos.”

Artemis and Helios listened intently. Soon, the air was filled with cheerful stories, bringing the friends even closer together.

“My great-grandmother loved to tell jokes,” said Artemis, smiling as she remembered all the stories they had shared. “One of her favorite jokes went like this: Two snails are sitting on the back of a turtle. One turns to the other and says, ‘Hold on tight, Fred. Here we go.’”

The Kenoyms looked at each other in confusion, not knowing what snails were. But when they heard Helios chuckling, they couldn’t help but join in the laughter.

Suddenly, fruits sailed past them, carried by the breeze. With a playful grin, the larger Kenoym grabbed one and held it out to the turtle. “Warai fruits constantly change their flavor. Sometimes they’re sweet, sometimes bitter, sometimes salty. It’s always a surprise,” it explained.

Cautiously, Artemis took a small bite. “It tastes sour!” she exclaimed, scrunching up her face.

The smaller creature laughed joyfully and clapped its hands. “See, you never know what to expect, just like with life itself.”

As the sun slowly set, bathing the moon in a gentle twilight, they said their goodbyes. Artemis and Helios felt lighthearted and relaxed, as if the Kenoyms had given a little bit of their carefree spirit to them.

On the Kensho stone, delicate, pulsating patterns appeared, capturing the memories of this precious time. They served as a reminder of how important it was to keep a sense of humor, even in difficult situations.

With smiles on their faces and another valuable insight in their hearts, the two friends continued their journey through the universe, determined to explore it with joy.
