Bzzzz… Bzzzzzz…. Bzzzzz…. The vibration that produces a fraction between silicon rubber and wood that has been polished in such a way, that is the thing that always wakes me up every time the day begins, before the sun shows itself on the eastern horizon, my eyes open, wide, I see a small spot on the ceiling of my room once again, I observe it carefully, every time before and after I fall asleep I see it as if the spot is the only sleeping companion I have. I take more time this time to observe it, hoping the spot will double into two, my body is still sinking into the softness of the foam mattress that I trust, the slightly stiff pillow still supports my head, my eyes are still fixed on the ceiling.

After taking a deep breath, I decided to move my hand to the source of the vibration that woke me up earlier, I took the plate object from the top of my small cupboard, then I channeled a little power into my right thumb that had already landed on the lock button, the light produced from the screen did not make my eyes comfortable which had adapted to the darkness for tonight, blinking several times until finally I reduced the intensity of the light, I looked at the large writing displayed on the screen.

"04:46" The writing said, then my eyes moved slightly below the large writing, where the smaller writing was.

"Tuesday, March 25, 20X5." I took a deep breath once again after reading the small writing, two more days, two more days I will be 22 years old, I am getting older, time cannot be compromised, it's time to move, a long day awaits.

I got up from my bed, the sound of foam and fractions between the blanket and the sheets accompanied my awakening, my feet touched the ceramics that had been cooled by the night, I then stepped towards the door of my room, the plain black door from the inside but white from the outside. In this house I am not alone, I live with one of my cousins, a woman who is two years older than me, she is studying for her doctorate at the faculty of agriculture and animal husbandry. Even though we live under the same roof, I rarely chat with her, it's not her fault, my cousin is a very active social person, easy to get along with anyone and the scope of her conversations is wide, this is my fault, I put a high and thick barrier from everyone, even though until we were in junior high school my cousin and I still often chatted together, but once I started to observe the dynamics of the relationships around me, I started to limit everything.

I always wake up this early so I can be ready before my cousin wakes up, I avoid my cousin. As usual, making instant black coffee without sugar, taking a shower while waiting for the coffee to warm up, taking a slice of bread from the fridge, spreading it with butter then enjoying it with bitter coffee, as my fuel until noon today. After finishing my breakfast, I went back to my room, put on my office uniform, and took my backpack, the contents of my backpack are always the same, a laptop, a mouse, a charger for my laptop and a spare charger for my cellphone, oh and one thing I can't forget is the black rhodium ring that I always wear on my left little finger.

Everything is ready, my white door from the outside clicks, I turn the key that is stuck in the keyhole, one click, two clicks, then go down to the ground floor, where a large door awaits, in front of the door is my shoe rack, I take my safety shoes that I usually wear, put on socks before putting my feet in the stiff shoes. Once installed, the meeting between the soles of my shoes and the ceramic floor produced a thumping sound, a sound that came out every time I took a step, I opened the big door, then I closed it again when I got out, one click, two clicks and I left the house. I headed to the nearest bus stop, where at 05:30 the bus would come to take me to my office.

The cool temperature of the early morning pierced my skin, even with a jacket covering my work uniform, sometimes there was a wind that brought a colder temperature, but that was what I liked about the early morning, the calm, the coolness, and the friendliness, and most importantly the cool and still clear air entered through my nose filling my lungs like aromatherapy, making me occasionally shout to myself during the trip.

"Good morning world!" I dared to shout it above my usual voice because I knew no one was listening. Once again I shouted, hoping that this time the world would reply.

  "Good morning world!"

This morning was not my usual morning, I had just arrived in front of the gate of my new campus, I looked up at the gate, a large writing was displayed on it, welcoming people like me.

"Edgeview State Polytechnic." The gate said as if welcoming, when my eyes focused on the gate the sun in the east began to rise, its golden orange light dazzled my eyes when the light finished its journey and chose to land on my face through the gaps in the leaves that were firmly attached to the trees around the entrance path behind this gate.

I exhaled, not long but strong enough to roll marbles, then started to take steps, my casual black shoes did not even make any sound when rubbing against the concrete road I was walking on, formal black cloth pants hid black socks underneath, complementing my all-black bottoms, but in contrast to my bottoms, my top, a new shirt that was still neat, pure white without stains, a mandatory uniform for new students, my head with all my hair shaved off completing my identity as a new student, plus the ID card that I put in my shirt pocket so that it would not swing everywhere while I was walking.

This morning, was not to my liking, my nose was not working optimally, the oxygen supply to my lungs was not optimal, not only my nose, all my sensory organs were not working optimally, I don't know why, whether because I was nervous because this was the first day, or I was anxious because there were so many people around me. My two hands that were plain without accessories except for the watch wrapped around my wrist dived deep into my pants pockets, indicating that they did not want to be shaken. My gaze was fixed on the concrete beneath me that guided my way to the campus auditorium, I watched the pattern of the concrete lines, it seemed to be made to provide a grip, reduce fractions, or drain water.

Occasionally my right ear was filled with the rumbling of wheels interacting with the fine lines on the concrete that I was observing, the rumbling sound when passing immediately hit the dissonant sound that filled the air, the dissonant sound contained the chatter of the new students who were also walking around me, some sentences that were repeated often I heard.

"Nice to meet you, my name is ...."

  "What school are you from?"

  "What major?"

  "What group?"

All the murmurs were not directed at me but still filled my ears, my gaze was still fixed on the lines on the concrete road that I was stepping on, every time my feet gave a kinetic push, the lines moved behind me, as if I was reading a book. My focus on these often ignored lines was finally broken when I heard the call.

"Group A, please line up here!" Waking me back to this morning that seemed to be walking slowly, the sun in the east had not left its place too far, its light was still golden orange. I took the ID card in my shirt pocket, brought it closer to my face, my eyes moved to find the word "Group", finally I found it, "Group: A", meaning that was my row. I then walked towards the place where several students with the same attributes as me had lined up, two rows, one row of men and one row of women, each row was estimated to be around ten to twelve students, meaning each group ranged from 20-24 students, 24 students, 24 who were in the same group as me.

I finally arrived at the row, taking the back seat in the row, in front of me, several heads were enough to block my view to see how big the auditorium I was going to enter was. I had taken 270 steps from the gate to this field, each step gave a displacement of 60 centimeters, meaning 162 meters of distance between the gate and the gathering point field.

I turned towards the direction I came from, it seemed like the new students from there were getting fewer, meaning almost all of them were already on this field, when only one or two new students were left running towards the field, the voice that shouted before shouted once again.

“Alright New Students, welcome to Edgeview State Polytechnic, this is the first day of orientation and introduction to the campus environment, all day long you will be in this auditorium.” Said the shouting voice I couldn’t see the gestures and the person he gave because of the sea of ??heads in front of me, The voice then continued again. “In the auditorium you will be provided with all the information about this campus, but before entering the auditorium I want all of you to introduce your names, majors and study programs, starting from Group A, those who have introduced themselves please move into the auditorium!” The shouting voice exclaimed.

Instantly, the oscillations of my heart increased, my fingers in my pocket which were not wearing any rings cooled, one by one the students in front of me moved, the line got thinner, the further I advanced to the front of the field, until finally I could see the figure of the voice calling out, a girl, a senior who was a year ahead of me, her brown hair tied in a simple ponytail, her body covered in our campus alma mater, the black alma mater typical of this campus which has the nickname black campus. As soon as I was in front, her eyes locked onto mine, her gaze seemed to command before her mouth did it.

"Next you! Introduce your name, major, and study program!" She said to me in a commanding tone.

I took a deep breath, besides my internal panic, my posture and face were flat, stoic, my mouth moved, making a loud sound that I had never made before.

"My name is Easir Seiven! Department of Electrical Engineering! Diploma Three Study Program in Electronic Engineering!" I said, then turned back to him, my face still blank. I saw her nod, then signaled me to move into the auditorium.
