Champion Tide – Season 2
Chapter 7: The price of success
The night before the big relay race, the Monta?a Azul team was in their rooms. Although the atmosphere seemed calm, there was a mixture of tension, anxiety and... something else.
?
Moments of calm before the storm
Talión was sitting on the bed in his room, looking out the window when he felt someone approaching him.
It was Luz, dressed in a tight T-shirt that showed her thick legs and that prominent butt that was already part of her natural charm.
"Are you okay?" Luz asked, sitting next to him.
"Tomorrow is important..." Talion murmured. I want everything to be perfect.
Luz came closer, resting her head on Talión's shoulder.
"What happens tomorrow doesn't matter... we are the best team that exists.
Talion smiled and wrapped his arm around Luz's waist.
"Do you know what relaxes me?" he murmured.
Luz looked at him with a mischievous smile.
"Are you telling me that you want... a little "therapy"?"
No more was needed. What happened next was between shadows, sighs and burning skin, but it was enough for both of them to forget about the pressure and concentrate on what they loved most: being together.
?
The day of the great race
The Blue Mountain team was ready.
?? Bruno would open the competition.
?? Jocelyn would take the second talt.
?? Azrat would be the third to launch.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
?? Luz would take the fourth relief.
?? Talión would close the competition as the last swimmer.
The atmosphere was full of tension. Aurora, as always, was the one who kept the group firm.
"Don't forget this... We're not just friends... We're a family." And today we are going to show that no one messes with Monta?a Azul.
The team looked at each other confidently. They were ready.
?
The race begins
?? Bruno opened with an explosion of speed. He didn't have the neatest technique, but his strokes were strong and effective. He touched the wall just half of his body behind the Korean rival.
?? Jocelyn entered the water with fury. Although her Japanese rival Mizuki tried to overtake her, Jocelyn launched a last impulse that allowed her to pass the advantage to Azrat.
?? Azrat launched himself like lightning, taking advantage of his incredible speed. Although the Norwegian Erik Thorsen was difficult to reach, Azrat managed to keep the difference to a minimum.
?? Luz threw herself into the water with everything. His body moved gracefully, and although his rival tried to provoke him before the race, Luz made it clear that he not only had confidence, but also the ability to dominate the pool.
?? Talion jumped into the water when they were still at a disadvantage of almost a full body.
"Come on... you can't lose..." Aurora murmured from the shore.
?
The roar of the orca
While swimming, Talión felt that the world was going out. All that existed was water... and the memory of her three ocean friends: Flippy, Storm and Blaze.
"Water is not your enemy... water is your ally..."
Suddenly, Talion was not only swimming... he was flying into the water.
The orcas he imagined next to him became his very essence. His body broke the surface with such power that in just 20 seconds he had already reached his rival.
In the last meters, Talión accelerated so much that he reached the finish line with a full body advantage.
The audience exploded in screams of euphoria. Monta?a Azul had just written a new legend.
?
New friends were born
At the end of the race, the rivals approached one by one to congratulate Monta?a Azul.
"Today you were better," Kwan Ji-Hoon admitted.
"But get ready... the World Tournament will be another story." Erik added, laughing.
"It was an honor to compete with you," Wei Fang said, bowing his head.
Even Alexandre Duvier shook their hands.
—Blue Mountain... today they made history.
?
A change in the team
The following days, Talión began training with the other elite swimmers. He spent a lot of time with Kwan Ji-Hoon, Erik, Wei Fang and Alexandre. They even formed a group where they participated in a friendly tournament... but this time, Talión did not win.
In that competition, it was Erik Thorsen who took first place.
When the Blue Mountain team found out, some felt a slight pang of sadness... not because Talión had lost, but because they realized that their captain, his friend... was moving away little by little.
Aurora, although she understood that Talión needed to grow, also saw how the team began to feel that their bond was weakening.
"Talion is looking to be the best in the world... and for that he has to learn from the best." Aurora said to reassure them.
Luz, however, knew that something else was happening.
"No matter how far away he goes... I will always bring him back." -he thought.
