The melancholy and reflection of our actions

  Day 69

I've already been discharged from the Arnunk hospital. I arrived home very tired; I'm gonna try to cook something for Iris, I know she has been worrying about me a lot, she must be more tired than me.

  Day 70

I'm completely better. That fog appeared again while I was sleeping with my wife, but for some reason it didn't attack her. I'm fully healed, and Iris has become stronger, maybe because of the fog.

  Day 74

I was in a meeting with other commanders and generals. We discussed the creation of exploration teams, new X.K. schools, and new "" fungus farms. There's also a rumor about the discovery of a lake or ocean.

I proposed to be the leader of the first exploration division. Anoker said he will be part of my team, and I will also have the help of 25 more warriors. I will show the details of the 5 teams:

Zathor Khan, First General of the Fleet. Leader of the first exploration division and Master of X.K. Hark 5, along with King Anoker Yggdrasil.

Benqher Auton, Second General of the Fleet. Leader of the second exploration division and leader of site 2 of Allopelyis Anicillium plantations, along with Nosk Previk, First Commander.

Ingun Olank, Second Commander. Leader of the third exploration division and leader of site 1 of plantations, along with Kardec Pasoner, Third Commander.

Adonis Khan, First Commander. Leader of the fourth exploration division and leader of site 3 of farm, along with Hadno Bando, First Captain of Adonis' division.

Yigg Derton, Third General of the Fleet. Leader of the fifth exploration division, along with Khainan Pasoner, Third Captain of Yigg's division.

We will go to the rumored lake tomorrow morning. Anoker sent us home to rest.

  Day 75

I couldn't sleep. I had another strange dream.

I was in front of a lake with crystal blue water, sitting on a green yard. There was no fog, no obelisks, no Black Demons, only peace. While I was sat there, feeling the wind, the ground began to shake. From the water, a gigantic creature emerged; it had no shape, it was just a bright glowing light. Then, it slowly approached me and said in a velvety and comforting voice:

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

"You do not belong to this world, Zathor. You came from a distant place, but now you have found one you can call home. I will give you 5 days to prove to me that I should not destroy this land you live on. But, before you return, I will grant you the right to ask three questions."

I thought for a moment. Then I asked,

"How should I refer to you?"

"I am the one who owns everything, the strongest, the light in the darkness, the love in hatred. I am everything everywhere at the same time. I am you, I am íris, I am Anoker, I am Ornak, I am Adonis, I am Benqher, I am Ingun, I am Kardec, I am Nosk, I am Yigg, I am Khainan, and I am Hadno. I am the flesh obelisks, I am the Black Demons, I am the fog that blinds you, I am everything in this universe. I am what you call

  God

I was surprised by such an answer, why is God talking to me? Why especifically me?

but I kept thinking. "What is my purpose?" I asked reluctantly.

"You create your purpose by solving the dilemmas of your life. If I told you your purpose, what purpose would you have after knowing such information?"

I thought for what seemed like days, then I asked what I most feared to know.

"What will my death be like?"

God, somehow, touched my forehead and I saw. I saw when and how I will die. God told me never to proclaim nor mention what I saw, or there would be incomprehensible consequences.

He says "you will only remember my challenge, after the morning. What you saw here will be extinguished and cannot be stored in your memory. You can only write this conversation on your diary, nothing more."

The dream I had kept me awake; I still had many doubts in my head.

I will leave when the sun rises.

  Day 80

We arrived at the lake. All the exploration teams came with us. I volunteered to enter the lake. The water is thick, dark, and smelly. I took off my clothes and jumped into the water.

I swam to the bottom and found a kind of glowing crystal. It seemed to radiate an energy; it was almost palpable. I picked it up and swam to the surface. I showed it to the leaders, and when Hadno touched it, he began to convulse. He fell to the ground shaking, vomiting the corrosive blood of the Black Demons. He transformed into one of the infernal creatures. I hated myself for having to kill him, but I did what needed to be done.

When we return to the city of Arnunk, we will store this crystal, named "Inc Demonic," in a secret place, hidden from the people.

  Day 85

We arrived safely in the city and held a proper funeral for Hadno Bando, First Captain of Adonis' division. His relatives and family were there; all the commanders, generals, and captains were present as well.

I was promoted to "Master of X.K. Hark 6."

Today was a melancholic day, as we lost one of our best warriors. I understand the reader's confusion for knowing almost nothing about Hadno, but he was a brave and determined man, the most disciplined in the royal guard. He gave me great advices when I didn't know what to do and teached me what I didn't know. Losing a soldier has never been easy. I've been mourning since the day I saw the warriors die in the invasion on Day 10. The lesson I want to convey today is: it doesn't matter if we don't know who died, we should not ignore the lives of people even if they are not part of ours. If you were to die one day, your family would mourn for a long time, but would it only be them? Wouldn't there be anyone besides the people you know who would cry for your death? We should remember all the people that die every day, because, the next one can be someone you know.
