Morning soon rose on the horizon for the city of Los Angeles, in the year 2203, Ty “Turbo” Knight was eager to wake up from his slumber. The entire room chimed in with a loud alarm waking him up.
“Greetings Master Tyler Knight” said the computerized AI voice.
The computer AI system was always ready and waiting to get Tyler up for the morning. Ty soon stretched as he got up out of his bed.
“Morning already, but I was having the coolest dream,” said Ty.
“Another time traveling mission with Commander Horace Ruslan, or perhaps with Sato Taiyou sir?” asked the computerized AI.
“Nah, this dream was different” said Ty as he placed on his clothes.
“Oh, how different sir?” asked the computerized AI voice.
“Ever get the feeling that you are missing something in life?” asked Ty, “You know, something that you could cuddle up to?”
“Are you speaking of a pet sir?” asked the computerized AI voice.
“Yes” replied Ty.
“Ah yes, a pet, one of every young person’s dream” continued the computerized AI voice, “what sort of an animal would you like? A dog, a cat or perhaps a robotic versions of the animals in question?”
“I don’t know if we have anyone here who is allergic, so I’ll go with the robot versions of the animals” said Ty.

“Very good sir” said the computerized AI voice, “I’ll inform your parents when they get up.”
For the rest of the Knight household, which was shared by the Lennox family, Ty couldn’t wait to ask his parents for a pet. As he headed out of his room, he spotted Charlotte Lennox emerging from her room.
“Charlotte, curious what are your thoughts of me getting a robotic pet?” asked Ty.
“I don’t know, I would prefer the actual animal,” said Charlotte.
Charlotte was still getting use to the 22nd Century, since she was originally from the 18th Century when the British were occupying the young United States. She couldn’t believe the concept of owning a robotic pet. As the other members of the family gathered for breakfast – Dee and Dave were both supportive of Ty owning a pet.
“That’s a huge responsibility” said Dave, “you better run this with mom and dad.”
“Yea, we might say yes, but I don’t know if they will” added Dee.
Excel and Marian soon arrived at the dinning table with Reginald Lennox. It was going to be a good old fashion British breakfast. The three adults could hear the commotion coming from the dinning room area of the apartment.
“What’s this about a pet?” asked Reginald.
“I hope you’ll clean after it” added Marian.
Excel felt this would be a good lesson for his son Tyler to learn.
“Perhaps we should let him choose a pet” said Excel.
“I’m not so sure that’s the right decision” said Reginald.
Reginald was shaken in his boots over what sort of animals would be considered as pets in this century. He couldn’t believe the strange excitement in Ty’s eyes. Marian would hate herself for agreeing with her husband over siding with Tyler on owning a pet.
“Okay dear, maybe Ty will learn responsibility” said Marian, “but I am not sure the Department of Relativity would allow the pet on any time traveling mission.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll have to think of something,” said Ty.
Ty was pleased he was going to get a robotic pet. It would be a dream come true, or perhaps an uncertain nightmare.
