A/N: Hey everyone! Firstly, thank you for the kind support and I’m relieved to see people enjoying what I write. This is just some basic information regarding the rules of ABO in this story. Initially, I wrote this story for fun to enjoy with my friends, but it wasn’t until ter I decided to upload it on AO3 and SH. I took ideas from different sources to set up the ABO world in this fiction.

  I should’ve done this earlier since not everyone is familiar with the concept of omegaverse, but oh well! There’s some extra information to understand the characters.

  ALPHA RACE | 20% PoputionPhysique: Both male and female alphas are stronger and taller compared to the same primary gender as themselves. They have a charming appearance that appeals to omegas and betas.

  Personality: They are born natural leaders with strong personalities. They have positive qualities such as being assertive, feisty, having high self-esteem, and having pride. On the other hand, they also have strong negative qualities, such as being arrogant, stubborn, abusive, and tending to be control freaks.

  Pheromones: There’s a corretion between their scents and the alpha’s innate personality. Their scent is usually quite heavy or nature-like.

  Partner Choice: Because of pheromone attractions and instincts, both male and female alphas prefer to choose an omega as their partner. Their personalities complement each other very well, which makes them great partners. The next common pairing is A/B, which is less than A/O, but it is quite common to see an alpha with a beta. It depends on each alpha’s preference. Lastly, the A/A pair is quite rare due to cshes between alpha’s assertive personalities.

  Known Alpha(s):

  Duke Cedric Albrecht: smoked deerskin—a dominating yet protective presence that makes others and animals drawn to him, reflecting his selfless and protective nature.Marquis Hugh Chevalier: leather—a pungent yet smooth scent.Stel Albrecht: smoked pinewood—a warm, cozy presence like being around the campfire, which effectively affects omegas and alphas. Even though betas may not smell, they can feel her warm presence, reflecting her warm and candid personality.Theo Chevalier: whisky—strong alcoholic air that can put those around you in a state of drowsiness or intoxication, especially omegas. Alphas and betas would feel intimidated and may experience headaches from prolonged exposure. This reflected his borderline-abusive personality.Matteo Chevalier: river water—musky, fishy, and soil-like, like being next to the flowing river, which makes animals easily drawn to him, reflecting his observant personality.

  BETA RACE | 60% popution Physique: They look like average males and females.

  Personality: Mutable and compromising personalities with high adaptability. They have a good bance between alpha’s and omega’s personalities, which often makes them likable to both secondary genders.

  Pheromones: They don’t have a distinctive scent like an alpha or omega, and it is often subtle and too light to be noticeable at the beginning. They are less sensitive when it comes to scents unless the scent is amplified by heat, rut, or strong emotions.

  Partner Choice: Due to their flexibility, it makes them able to settle down with an alpha, beta, or omega. Most betas prefer to choose another beta because they share simir personalities, and they don’t have to be concerned over pheromone issues, unlike A/B and B/O pairs. The next common pairing is A/B, which is more than A/O pairs, but it is quite common to see a beta with an alpha. It depends on each beta’s preference. Lastly, the B/O pair is the least common because betas are not as assertive compared to alphas, and most omegas prefer a dominant personality.

  Anthony Albrecht: Stel’s and Bke’s older brother and the eldest son of Duke Cedric and Duchess Yvette (1st wife).Eleanor Chevalier: Ophelia’s younger sister by a few months, second daughter of Marquis Chevalier with Baroness Florence (2nd wife).Countess Alicia Valens: Stel’s mother and Duke Cedric’s second wife. She used to be an elite knight in the Northnd Reconnaissance Division.   OMEGA RACE | 20% PoputionPhysique: For males, they have smaller and thinner bodies. For females, they look identical to a beta woman.

  Personality: They have gentle and heartwarming personalities and are born natural caregivers. They have positive qualities such as being selfless, empathetic, sensitive, and conscientious. On the other hand, they also have strong negative qualities such as being too selfless, submissive, and having low self-esteem.

  Pheromones: There’s a corretion between their scents and the omega’s innate personality. Their scent is sweet, fruity, or flowery, which gives off a soothing, calm, and airy feeling.

  Partner Choice: Both male and female omegas prefer to choose an alpha as their partner due to pheromone attractions and their instincts. Their personalities complement each other very well, which makes them great partners. The next common pairing is B/O, which is less than A/O, but it is quite common to see an omega with a beta. It depends on each omega’s preference. Lastly, the O/O pair is quite rare, as it is in omega’s nature to desire a protector, like alpha. The attraction between omegas was yet to be understood in society. They prefer to find alphas as their mating partners due to pheromone attractions, but it is also common to see omegas married to their beta lovers too.

  Known omega(s):

  Ophelia Chevalier: vender—a delicate combination of floral and herbal that reminds me of a morning spring.Bke Albrecht: jasmine—a soft combination of honey and spice with a sensual touch.Linda Lemaire: peach—a fresh and vibrant scent that reminds me of summertime.Mabel Chevalier: vanil—sweet, rich, and syrupy, which is very alluring.Duchess Yvette Albrecht: caramel—a deep, rich, dense, and sickly-sweet scent with warm, buttery tones.Marchioness Shannon Chevalier: apple—fruity, fresh, and slightly acidic.

  PHEROMONES [Alpha/Omega only] It is the signature scent of each alpha and omega that corretes with the individual’s personality. How each person would respond to a pheromone depends on their secondary gender. If both sides have the same secondary gender, such as between alphas and omegas, both parties may have a neutral reaction or express strong dislike or discomfort. They might’ve felt challenged in another person’s presence. If both sides have a different secondary gender, such as between alpha and omega, they would find each other’s scent alluring and sweet. If they are exposed to each other’s pheromones in a moderate amount, it could trigger them to enter heat (for omega) or rut (for alpha).

  Usually, betas are not sensitive to pheromones and would only smell them when they are stronger than usual. In such instances as during omega’s heat, alpha’s rut, or when someone is having an intense emotion, it is evident that emotions can change the fragrance of their pheromones, as follows:

  Positive emotions (delighted, happy, like, love) = sweet or alluring scentNegative emotions (angry, hatred, annoyed, sad) = bitter, dulled, or rotten scent

  Marking and Bond [Temporary and Permanent]Temporary: It is a light bite on the neck that sts for a month. This is not considered to be forming a bond with their partner. This generally indicates that the person that is marked is taken, or they are currently in a retionship. It’s more common for alphas to mark their omega partners due to their dominating nature, and some alphas are open to being marked by their omega partners.

  Permanent: It is a deeper bite into the omega’s scent gnd, and this is considered to form the bond. The pheromones in the alpha’s saliva will mix with the omega, changing their scent permanently. After the bond is established, the omega’s pheromones will no longer affect other alphas and can’t mate with anyone else (both beta and alpha) except their bond partner. Forming a bond is usually consensual, but there were instances where some omegas were forced to form a bond with another omega that wasn’t their lover due to unfortunate circumstances. Thus, all omegas must be careful not to wander outside by themselves or go near any alpha in a rut.

  HEAT [Omega only]Heat cycles come every three months and st about a week. They’ll be in a state of euphoria or arousal, their most fertile state. They would release an intense quantity of pheromones to attract alphas and have strong cravings for their presence and pheromones.

  The ways for omegas to suppress or subside their heat are by (1) taking heat suppressant medications or (2) using alpha’s pheromones to subside it.

  Their pheromones are stronger than usual, and the alpha of their interest can go into a rut if exposed too much. If they were to mate during this period, there would be a high chance of a successful pregnancy without protection. Both male and female omegas would produce slick, which is a translucent substance that functions as a lubricant, much more than usual. It’s known to have a sweet taste with a tint of that omega’s pheromones. They may develop a nesting behavior, which involves building a small fort consisting of scents (from family members or loved ones) to soothe their heat cycles.

  RUT [Alpha only]Alpha’s energy level naturally builds up over time, and once they reach their limit, that’s when they can go into a rut. They could easily decrease it through strenuous physical activities or other various methods, so they do not have any pent-up energy. It is often encouraged that all alphas partake in some form of physical activity, such as fencing, to release stress without relying on suppressants like omegas.

  Alpha would enter rut if they were (1) exposed to omega’s heat, (2) had pent-up energy, or (3) stimuted by certain drugs such as aphrodisiacs.

  During the rut, they are in a state where it’s extremely difficult for them to control themselves. They will become notably aggressive, feral, and possessive of their omega mate. Their desire to mate with an omega in heat is amplified, and they might form a bond unintentionally. During emergency situations where they were near an omega in heat, alphas could use suppressant medication to suppress their rut.

  During mating, they can form a knot, which is the swelling at the base of the penis when they’re intensely stimuted, with the purpose of locking in their mate and securing the pregnancy. Alphas often knot their omega partners because it generally brings pain and discomfort to their beta partners.

  HEAT AND RUT SUPPRESSANTS [Alpha/Omega only]It’s more common for omegas to use heat suppressants so they can function in their daily lives normally without being hindered. Omegas generally exhibited no side effects from using the suppressants, but some may.

  Alphas generally don’t require rut suppressants and are often used in emergencies.

  SOULMATEEvery alpha and omega have only one soulmate, and they would be able to tell the instant they met each other. Soulmates are perfectly compatible in every way, whether it is their personality, spirituality, or physicality. They are each other’s best mating partners to produce strong offspring with the best genes. However, it is a matter of whether an alpha or omega will meet their soulmate within their lifetime or not.

  In Northnd’s society, soulmates are accepted despite the differences in two individuals’ social statuses. It is part of their belief that soulmates are destined to be together by divine beings, as they were born to become each other’s true partners only.
