So, as most of you know, I sent out book 1 of Tiny Dungeon to different publishers. I am happy to announce that Moonquill Publishing has accepted Tiny Dungeon! We are in the midst of editing Book 1, and I will be giving you more information as we go along about the status of the book. With that being said, I am also in the midst of rewriting Book 2 to better fit the changes I made in Book 1. Those changes had larger ramifications for the story than I had intended, but it also gives me the opportunity to fix some continuity errors and add in more detail about the world and Valterra's place in it.
Spoilers below for those who want to know what is changing.
So here is the gist of the changes, so you can be as excited about them as I am about implementing them. There will be a larger gap of time between the beginning of the book and when Valterra meets with his niece. It may end up being the end of the book, in fact. The gap will be filled in by a proper cementing of Valterra's Dungeon and a bit more exposition on the creatures and floors so they are fleshed out more, especially the guardians. The battle for the locations of power will be explored further, as well as the increase they provide to Valterra. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, we will see more of Calavor via the memories he has shared with his son. This was something I had wanted to emphasize, but didn't get around to, and that kind of bumbed me out a bit. It will also explore more of the outside world through the eyes of Natalia and her party as they head north into the forest.
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Book 3 will then start with a full delve by the party, where they face the aforementioned guardians, and ends with Natalia becoming a priest of Valterra just in time for other people to begin arriving, just as he falls asleep to Ascend. The back half of Book 3 will then be different POVs from Dungeon creatures and others. I look forward to writing it.
That being said, it is going to take a while, and I ask for your patience as I embark on this journey. The hope is that I can transition to writing as a full-time job with this first book as my impetus. Thank you all for sticking around and for enjoying this book.
