Hello all,

  I apologize. My life has been changing since I dropped the last chapter back in December 2024. Starting this new job has dramatically reduced the time and space I have to write. It has also been very draining to make any significant strides in the story because most of my energy is spent on my job. Although I am late in giving you an update, know that I have not forgotten about you.

  Despite my time constraints and fatigue, the moments I do find to write have been eye-opening. I've written roughly three new chapters since December, none of which have been reviewed and edited, and I refuse to give you anything but my best. With that same desire, I reread the first eight chapters and have come to the conclusion that the story has not been expressed in the way I see it going in my mind. Realizing this, I have taken strides to dive more into the lore of The Severed God. Along with the new three chapters, world-building tales and backstories are being written to help ground the characters and the world they live in. I want Elysia, Ishh, Xoital, and all other characters to be fully realized people in the world, and coming up with it as I write is fun, but can lead to inconsistency and plot holes - and that is the last thing you or I want.

  So, the Hiatus will unfortunately continue for a little while longer, and here is the plan:

  - I will continue to build the world and lore of The Severed God

  - The first eight chapters will be rewritten and released all at once

  - New chapters will be released a month after the first 8, and will be scheduled to release on a weekly basis until the first book is complete.

  As of writing this, I don't have a timeline for you, but I will do my best to continue making progress and keeping you all updated. I truly hope you are all doing well and keeping yourselves safe and happy :)
