Chapter Fifteen: Bodhi
"What's wrong?" Pang Bo's voice entered Ye Fan's ears as he shook his shoulders vigorously.
Ye Fan was like a dream come true, where there were no Buddhist sounds, no Zen chanting, the ancient temple remained the same, with a thick layer of dust accumulated, while others seemed to have not heard anything.
"Is it really the Dairen Temple?" He muttered to himself, what he had heard and seen just now, although brief, but why was it so real? This made him dazed for a moment, thinking carefully.
Ye Fan stared at the bronze ancient lamp in his hand, but he no longer had any special feeling. There were some floral patterns engraved on it, which looked simple and natural, dull and unremarkable, without any unusual place.
"Rice straw mat!" A male classmate retrieved an old rice straw mat from a pile of ashes, and the years had not been able to erase it.
Before long, another female classmate dug out a purple sandalwood rosary from the thick dust, which was not damaged at all in the wear and tear of time. After blowing off the dust, it still had a faint luster.
At the same time, Kade found a half-broken wooden fish in the dust in front of the stone Buddha, with three Bodhisattvas engraved on it, either majestic or compassionate, vivid and lifelike.
At this moment, Ye Fan's thoughts were a thousand miles away. If this was indeed the legendary Dalai Temple, then it would be a place abandoned by the gods, and all the artifacts unearthed here should be extraordinary!
"when"
Wang Ziwen's foot seemed to have kicked something, emitting a metallic vibration sound. The dust and dirt in that corner were scraped away, revealing a broken copper bell about the size of a palm, with one side missing, its style ancient.
"As he...” He shook the bronze bell, and immediately a melodious bell sound was emitted, as if the Buddha's voice was lingering, making people's minds calm.
Ye Fan's train of thought was interrupted, and he couldn't help but look at the bronze bell, on which were engraved flowing cloud patterns, with a rustic yet Zen-like simplicity, and a hint of Buddhist flavor.
Pang Bo muttered a sentence in a low voice and entered the ancient temple first, but he didn't find anything and could only say that his luck was bad.
Almost at the same time, Li Xiaoman found a half-piece of jade Ruyi under the feet of the stone Buddha, and after wiping off the dust, the crystal-clear residual jade suddenly flowed out with sparkling light.
The old temple seemed empty, but several people found objects under the dust, and others quickly followed suit, searching in a flurry.
Ye Fan didn't pay attention to those objects, the only one in the ancient temple that was spotless, intact and undiminished was the bronze ancient lamp in his hand, other objects were clearly incomparable to it.
"I don't believe anything can't be found..." muttered Pang Bo.
"Look carefully here, and whatever objects you find, pick them up." Ye Fan handed the ancient lamp to Pang Bo, letting him search with the light. Although he couldn't see anything extraordinary about these broken Buddhist artifacts for the time being, he knew that if there were really gods in the world, these things must be unusual!
Ye Fan handed the copper lamp to Pang Bo temporarily, and he himself walked out of the ancient temple, towards the Bodhi tree in front of the temple. At this time, he had already gotten rid of his original thinking pattern, and temporarily made himself believe that gods really existed.
Since the ancient temple is the Great Thunder Sound Temple, how can the Bodhi tree next to it be missed? If there is a Buddha in the world, that withered old tree must be extraordinary!
The Bodhi Tree is a sacred tree in Buddhism. According to the "Records of the Western Regions During the Tang Dynasty", the Buddha once told Ananda that there are three objects in the world that should be worshiped: the Buddha's relics, the Buddha's image and the Bodhi Tree.
Because the Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, seeing the Bodhi tree is like seeing the Buddha.
Before my eyes, this withered ancient tree is as sturdy as a dragon, six or seven people can't encircle it, the main trunk is hollow, only one branch hangs down to two or three meters above the ground, with six green leaves hanging on it, shining brightly like green jade.
Let's put aside whether this ancient tree is related to the Buddha or not, just those six leaves like green jade are enough to show its uniqueness.
Ye Fan came under the tree to carefully examine the ancient Bodhi tree, its massive branches almost completely pressing down on the ancient temple above, as if hanging with leaves, one can imagine the scene of covering the sky and blocking the sun.
At this moment, Ye Fan's heart moved, and he found that the six crystal-like green leaves had a faintly visible green mist emanating from them, with a small portion drifting towards the direction of the distant Five-Colored Altar, while the majority sank into the roots of the tree.
Green sparkles, shaped like silk, constantly overflowing from the six green leaves, making people feel a breath of life, with endless vitality flowing.
Ye Fan crouched down to dig away the mud at the base of the tree, wanting to see what was below that could condense the green aura overflowing from the Bodhi leaf.
Under the muddy ground, he didn't see anything divine or unusual, only a Bodhi seed that was dull in color and unremarkable, without any luster or aura surrounding it, to the point where if one wasn't paying attention, they might mistake it for a clod of dirt.
The only special thing about it is its size. Ordinary bodhi seeds are only the size of a fingernail, but this dark grey one was as big as a walnut.
Ye Fan was taken aback, could it be that the green aura emanating from the Bodhi leaf was being absorbed by it? After observing for a moment, he only saw the thread-like green aura flowing down and disappearing three inches away from the Bodhi seed.
Although it has not been seen absorbing the essence of Bodhi leaves, it can almost be confirmed that it was caused by it.
Ye Fan held the Bodhi seed in his palm, carefully observing it before revealing a look of surprise. The natural texture on this dull and ordinary Bodhi seed was actually connected together to form a compassionate Buddha!
The Buddha's body is naturally formed, but it seems as if it was carefully carved.
A dim Buddha statue, simple and natural, with a hint of Zen rhyme subtly emanating from it.
"Born Buddha diagram, can it be said that two thousand five hundred years ago, Sakyamuni really didn't attain enlightenment under the Bodhi tree?"
Bodhi tree, also known as Wisdom Tree, Enlightenment Tree, Thinking Tree, is said to awaken human divinity and enlighten oneself.
Ye Fan held the Bodhi seed high above his head, facing the six green leaves above. The speed of the green aura overflowing suddenly accelerated a lot, and the vigorous vitality became even more intense, all concentrated on the Bodhi seed. Of course, the light still disappeared within three inches of it.
"Poof"
A faint sound came, a crystal clear Bodhi leaf floated out the last green halo, then shattered, turned into flying ash, and drifted down.
Up to this point, Ye Fan finally believed that Bodhi seed seemed ordinary but was actually extraordinary and carefully kept it.
At this time, he noticed that there was a lot of powder on the ground, which was almost identical to the flying ash transformed from the Bodhi leaf just now. Could it be that all the Bodhi leaves on the tree disappeared like this? This made Ye Fan quite surprised.
The Bodhi seed from the Tiansheng Buddha statue made him feel extraordinary, and he vaguely felt that it was even more important than the ancient bronze lamp that accompanied the Stone Buddha!
There were still five green leaves on the Bodhi tree, but they didn't shine like before and had dulled a lot. Leaf Fan didn't pick them off, it was enough to have harvested one Bodhi fruit, he didn't want to draw attention to himself.
At this time, no one had yet come out of the Daluo Temple, Ye Fan left the Bodhi tree and returned to the ancient temple.
At this moment, seven or eight people found Buddhist objects of different shapes. Liu Yunzhi actually found a half golden pestle from behind the stone Buddha, although it was buried in dust for many years, but now it has been unearthed again, still shining brightly, giving people a sense of heavy and condensed, if not for one end being damaged, it can be called a perfect and powerful casting masterpiece.
This staff-like scepter has a very powerful name in Buddhism, called Vajra, which indirectly means "destroying enemies", symbolizing the invincible and indestructible wisdom and true Buddha nature, is the instrument held by all venerable saints.
If there were a Buddha in the world, this Vajra pestle would undoubtedly be a sacred object, and it must have extraordinary and unusual appearances. Even if it had the mysterious and great power of splitting mountains and rivers, it would not be surprising. However, at this moment, I couldn't see anything remarkable about it.
Liu Yunzhi swung it with force, and the half golden pestle was like a golden lightning bolt flashing by, shining brightly, the precious pestle was very majestic.
"You say, if these objects are all held by the gods, what kind of earth-shattering scene would it be if we were to discover how to use them..."
When Liu Yunzhi said this, all the people who had found the Buddhist relics were filled with a sense of longing.
