Epilogue: B-G

During their conversation outside, Freya didn’t learn until after the party that she wasn’t the only one who was willing to confess their love in front of the whole world.

“I, Guinevere Pendragon, confess my undying love to Reighley Summers!” Guinevere shouted.

Shortly before… Guinevere had walked outside after being kicked out of the party. Waiting there for her was Donald who was driving the van the two had rode together in.

“Care for a ride Madam Guinevere?” Donald asked. To his surprise, this was the first time he had ever seen Guinevere smile.

“Yeah… but before we go I need your help getting something set up,” Guinevere asked.

“As you wish Madam Guinevere.” Donald nodded.

Back to the present… Guinevere had Donald help her salvage the remains of their equipment in the van so she could broadcast to the whole world her feelings for Reighley. She hijacked the stream once again and as The Wise Dragon of Wind Valley, she revealed herself to be Guinevere all along in dramatic fashion.

Jericho had just gotten home from work. She turned on the TV, to the Social Light channel and sat down on the couch. Morgana hopped onto her lap. She was grateful that she could still make it to see valuable moments in her children's lives, even if it wasn’t in person. As the screen turned on, it showed Reighley and Freya slowly dancing together. The two were as close as could be. It looked like to them, the rest of the world didn’t exist.

“Good for you.” Jericho smiled. The mother who was worried about her child having his youth stolen away, was finally put to rest. Her son was, for the first time in his life, just being a teenager and enjoying himself like one. She couldn’t have been more happy with the result. It reminded her of the first time she met the father of her children.

She then saw the stream show Isabelle who was hosting alongside Destiny.

“Alright, you two love birds get a room!” Isabelle yelled.

“Yeah, Loverboy. Don’t you know this stream is rated TV-14!?” Destiny shouted.

Jericho let out a laugh and made a mental note to punish Reighley for letting Isabelle have exposure to the world when he got home.

Matilda Key watched the entire stream of the party and she was envious. She was staying over with Yula at Samira’s house and the three stayed up and watched the whole thing. Ash Fjord inevitably showed up on the stream during the dance and the Zombie run. They watched her sacrifice herself for Reighley and Freya. Later she was dancing with Freya, Destiny, and Isabelle who they didn’t recognize. They appeared to be having the time of their lives.

“Wow. Ash looks like she’s having a good time….” Yula said.

“Yeah, she sure does….” Samira agreed.

“I don’t see what’s all that great about the party,” Matilda remarked snarkily. “But… we should see if we can go next time.”

“Then we need to apologize to Freya about how we’ve been treating her lately. She’s obviously changed for the better thanks to him.” Samira said. The three girls looked at Reighley who was on screen and nodded in unison and individually sent unprompted “Happy Birthday” messages to Freya.

After the party began to die down Lily and Ulysses sat outside on a bench. The two were holding hands while Lily was resting her head on Ulysses’s arm.

“Where do you want to go?” Lily asked.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

“You mean on our date?” Ulysses answered flustered.

  “Yeah,” Lily replied.

“How about I cook you ramen for dinner?” Ulysses answered.

“Yes please!” Lily acted as if she was entranced by the thought of eating Ramen.

“By all means, you're more than welcome to stick around afterward,” Kokeisha said. She walked up to the two of them smoking a cigarette. She was wearing a fur coat, a wool felt dress, a party hat, and sunglasses.

  “Mom!?” Ulysses flipped out.

“Oh, hush now dear. You act like you haven’t seen me in ages. Is that any way to treat your mother after being apart for half a year?” Kokeisha asked.

“Umm… Hello, Mrs. Cinder.” Lily greeted. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

“Oh, aren't you a proper one?” Kokeisha leaned in close on Lily. “I know where you’re coming from. I married my husband because he can cook. Make sure you treat my boy well.”

  Epilogue: F

Standing by the refreshment table, Jim and Prismarine were snacking on hors d'oeuvres.

  “Marine?” Jim asked.

“Yes, my darling husband?” Prismarine answered.

“I’m sorry love. I once promised you the world, but while I was out to get it, I didn’t bring you with me.” Jim apologized.

“I forgive you,” Prismarine replied. “But now you have to go and get me two worlds since you messed up.”

“Anything for you Marine,” Jim replied. “Speaking of work, I’ve decided to change my schedule around so I have two days off a month that I can spend with you and Freya. I also plan to be home by dinner time during the evenings when I'm still in town.”

  “It's about time.” Prismarine scorned.

“You seemed pleased. How about a toast to celebrate then?” Jim suggested.

“Heh, I would, but I think I should cut back on the drinking from now on,” Prismarine said.

“Oh, one little glass won't hurt, will it?” Jim attempted to persuade her, by pouring wine in her cup.

“If I recall… You said that exact thing the night we had Freya.”

“You’re enabling me!” Prismarine laughed as she took the glass and the two indulged in liquor.

Sarah Bellum was on her way home. Because she altered the course of fate she was overly cautious during her commute. She knew that something bad was bound to happen to equalize the misfortune she altered. Using Presage, she peered into the nearby future, and to her surprise, it was only ten seconds ahead at the traffic lights she was approaching. The sound of sirens went off behind her as a police vehicle pulled out of an alleyway.

“Gosh dang it Lai! I can’t afford another ticket.” Sarah sobbed. Soon after Sarah pulled over and was approached by a police officer.

“Ma’am, do you have any idea how slow you were driving back there?” Officer Templeton asked.

“Uh, yes of course sir, I was just making sure to be safe.” Sarah awkwardly replied.

“License and registration please. You do realize that you have a tail light out right?” Templeton asked.

“Yeah. I just found out about it.” Sarah explained. After getting everything situated, Templeton handed her paperwork back to Sarah.

“Is everything okay at home?” Templeton asked with concern.

“Yeah, I just fell down the stairs,” Sarah said.

“Wow… things must be rough back at home,” Templeton thought. Concerned, he handed her a detective card. “Well if you ever want to talk about it, feel free to call this number.” Templeton got a closer look at the bruises on the nervous-looking Sarah and realized she probably had a tough night.

“I’ll let you off with a warning Ma’am. Drive safe, but not that safe okay? Holding up traffic could cause an accident. Oh, and make sure to get that light fixed alright?” He decided to let her off easy.

  End of Epilogues…

Thank you so much for reading! I know this book is rough around the edges, but if you made it to this point, I just wanted to say I hope you enjoyed this book. I spent eleven months writing it and even longer editing it. I plan on releasing more things in the future. Including a sequel to this book. I had a lot to learn as a writer and I’ve grown a tremendous amount since I began. I wonder if you can see that too. It was a genuine endeavor, but to anyone who reads this, know that you can make it. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Don’t quit. No matter how hard things get, I’ve learned you can do anything you set your mind to if you take things one step at a time.

Don’t forget to ask for help either. I couldn’t have done anything without my friend and editor R.J.T. as well as my family’s support. Without R.J.T.’s help, I definitely would have given up a long time ago. If you enjoyed this book, feel free to support me. However, I plan on continuing to write regardless, because it’s something I love. I hope that whoever reads this may one day also be encouraged to chase after their dreams.

If you are curious about my plans for the future, well let me tell you. Almost Everything is only one of many series I wish to write. In fact, it was at the bottom of the list of stories I wanted to tell. So I hope you look forward to future book releases! I also wanted to give a special thanks to my friend J. Cooper, who was the first person to read my book through its entirety. Having someone read your work and wanting more chapters each week, really pushed me towards the final stretch of finishing this book. You’re a true friend.

That all being said… Thanks again!
