Chapter Thirty-Five: Sesame Open Door
A new week has begun, rushing to update with an additional chapter
When Du Wei woke up, he felt that his head was resting on something soft. He felt sore all over his body, as if it had been torn apart by some force, and every muscle and joint ached quietly.
Du Wei struggled to open his eyes.
What relieved him first was that those two female companions were still by his side.
Duvie rested his head on Joanna's lap, while Vivian lay in Duvie's arms, her head against his chin.
Du Wei woke up at the same time as two female companions who were also drowsily opening their eyes.
"Where are we... have we been swallowed by a monster?" Joanna rubbed her head hard, then she suddenly realized that Du Wei was on her lap and shouted loudly: "What are you doing! Get out!"
After finishing speaking, Joanna flipped her body with force, and Du Wei immediately rolled down.
Du Wei finally managed to get up with great effort, rubbing his legs which felt like they were splitting in pain... This feeling was really unbearable, just like the taste of a muscle strain.
"What's the big deal? I didn't do it on purpose." Du Wei glanced at Joana, who sat up and ignored him, instead pulling Vivian up first.
Poor little Vivian still looked a bit dazed.
Three people were all wet and their hair was stuck together in clumps, Du Wei was okay. The two girls looked a bit disheveled.
Joanna was lucky, she had that hollowed-out magic-enhanced armor on her. Poor Vivian was not so fortunate. The outer magical robe she wore had been torn to shreds during the days they spent on the deserted island and later Duwei took it apart to use as strips of cloth for the wooden raft's ropes. At this moment, Vivian only had a thin undergarment on her.
This piece of clothing is usually nothing special, but after being soaked in seawater, it reveals a few points of inappropriateness.
It's clear that this garment is a bit too thin... and what's even more deadly is that in this world, it seems that women are missing one very important thing compared to the women in Duwei's past life.
After being soaked in seawater, Vivian's thin shirt clung to her body, easily outlining her slender figure... especially the upper half of the female magician's body.
Du Wei couldn't help but get a little distracted after just one glance.
It's obvious that this female magician's demeanor is a bit too naive, with a somewhat childish appearance... but her body already has a certain feminine charm. Her moderately-sized breasts, the clear outline of her nipples visible under her clothes, and what's even more deadly is that Vivian's dress just so happens to be light-colored... If Duwei stares for another two seconds, he might even catch a glimpse of those two raised points.
Although in a precarious situation, Du Wei couldn't help but indulge in a few flights of fancy, looking at Vivian's dazed little face, and sighed: Alas... what a pity...
"What are you staring at!" After all, Joanna was a bit older than Vivian and was more cautious in discovering Du Wei's line of sight. She let out a heavy hum, pulled her sister over, and glared fiercely at Du Wei: "You sour little noble! If you keep staring, I'll dig out your eyes!"
Du Wei didn't argue with her either, but instead turned his head around and carefully observed the surrounding environment.
This is obviously a cave.
Just two steps away from where they had just woken up and lay down, it was the sea water... From this point of view, Du Wei thinks that they were likely in an underwater cave. Because of the special terrain, there was no seawater in the cave.
On the wall of the cave, a faint light seemed to be flashing weakly, which allowed Du Wei and others to see the surrounding environment clearly.
Du Wei reached out and touched the wall of the cave, but instead of feeling smooth stone, he felt a patch of coarse, uneven grains. And within those grains, there were some tiny, sand-like particles that were naturally emitting a faint glow.
"Night Pearl? No, it's so small, should be called Night Sand." Du Wei withdrew his hand.
Du Wei's past knowledge told him that these self-luminous crystals or minerals were actually harmful radiation, and had no benefits to humans.
"What's wrong?" Joanna asked from behind him.
"Observing the terrain." Du Wei replied: "We should be grateful that we're not dead. Just now, we must have been attacked by that strange beast... but I don't understand how we ended up in this place."
"I think I might know a little." Vivian spoke up timidly, her face seemingly flushed with shyness, she didn't dare to look directly at Du Wei... perhaps, although simple-minded, but after all, a girl in her teens could more or less read the kind of gaze that Du Wei had glanced at her chest earlier.
Du Wei looked at Vivian, and Joanna immediately coughed loudly. Before Du Wei could speak, she said, "What do you know?"
"Whirlpool, whirlpool." Vivian said with repeated gestures: "Just now, I felt like we were being swept in here by a submarine whirlpool."
Du Wei furrowed his brow: "Is it just a coincidence? The whirlpool just happened to wrap around us, didn't go anywhere else, and accurately sent us into this cave without letting us drown?" His face was somewhat complex: "I don't believe this is any coincidence..."
The cave is neither big nor small, it's like an upside-down bowl shape, and the surrounding walls don't have any entrance or exit, it's completely sealed. Probably the only entrance and exit is the sea tunnel next to it.
"I think that if we want to get out, we probably have to jump into this waterway first and swim out with the seawater." Du Weide concluded.
"I'd rather have stayed on the island!" Joanna observed for a moment, came to the same conclusion as Du Wei, and couldn't help but get annoyed: "At least on the island there was water to drink and roots to eat. What's here? Only rocks!"
"It's not necessarily so. At least there is still oxygen here, we haven't been suffocated to death, which means that there are still openings leading outside, it's just that we can't find them." Du Wei shook his head.
"Oxygen? What's oxygen?" Joanna frowned.
Du Wei couldn't help but get tongue-tied. After all, explaining the chemical principles of oxygen to people in this magical world was indeed a bit too difficult. Du Wei stuttered for two sentences before quickly changing the subject: "We need to think of a way... can your magic be used?"
The two female magicians shook their heads, letting Du Wei dispel his last bit of thought.
"What should we do now?"
The questioner was Joanna.
It was as if unconsciously, over the past few days on the island, both women had somehow taken Du Wei, the youngest, as the leader of the three. Even Joanna couldn't help but feel a sense of reliance on this young boy. After all, among the three, Du Wei had always been the calmest one, making plans to escape, finding food and water, and doing all the important things, also taking care of the two women intentionally or unintentionally.
What's wrong?
Du Wei is really helpless now.
He's not a god! Being locked up in such a place that is neither heaven nor earth, what can he do?
Du Wei felt that he couldn't even force a wry smile anymore. He actually wanted to let out a few loud cries to vent, after all, his heart was also feeling stifled.
However, seeing the two women staring at him, especially Vivian's wide eyes with a hint of inexplicable trust... Du Wei sighed.
Qiang Lu smiled and comforted the two women with soothing words: "Don't worry... Since heaven didn't let us die and brought us to this place, our lives are destined not to be lost here. There must be a way!"
Du Wei let out a quiet sigh, walked to the side of the cave wall, and gently touched it with his hand. He smiled and said: "We need to rest for a bit and recover some energy first. Then..." Du Wei paused for a moment: "...then we'll figure something out... Hey, does anyone want to hear a story?"
Joanna pursed her lips, she was not as simple as Vivian, and she also saw that in this desperate situation, Du Wei probably had no way out. However, looking at the trembling Vivian beside her, Joanna sighed silently.
If I really have to die here... then so be it! The obsession that has been weighing on my heart for too long, perhaps it's also a kind of liberation.
Joanna didn't say a word, lost in her own thoughts. Vivian had already quietly stepped two steps away from her side and looked at Du Wei with hope: "What story?"
"The story... " Du Wei smiled slightly and said: "I... once heard a story about a bandit and a treasure, it's said that a young man named Ali Baba..."
Du Wei slowly told the story of the famous "Forty Great Thieves" from that previous life world, and finally laughed while pointing at the cave wall in front of him, saying: "You see, maybe the gods will grant us a miracle! Maybe you touch it, then shout 'Sesame open door', and this cave wall will reveal a door to let us out!"
Vivian hung her head for a while, she was silent, and when she raised her head, the female magician had already shed tears in her eyes, saying softly: "Du Wei, you, comfort me, is it?"
Du Wei didn't say a word, in this situation, he could only silently and gently stroke Vivian's hair.
Vivian suddenly raised a smiling face, she was trying hard to smile, and stuttered: "Du Wei said there's a way... then, it must be, there is a way! We can try one by one! We'll definitely find a way! Let's start with this 'Sesame Open Door' first!"
Xiao Sha Niang's face revealed a lovely smile, although her eyes were filled with tears. Then she really raised her hand and gently knocked on the wall several times, then carefully recited in her sweet and crisp voice:
Sesame, open sesame, open door...
Du Wei suddenly felt a pang of sadness... such a lovely little girl, also going to die here?
But... it seems like heaven has destined me to play with him!
Just before Du Wei's tears fell...
Just as Vivian finished saying "Sesame open door" ...
In front of him, the cave wall suddenly rippled slightly... Yes, the hard cave wall suddenly became like a water wave and surged open!
A withered hand suddenly protruded from the cave wall, revealing itself to Du Wei and others! Just as the three of them were about to pop their eyeballs out, a hoarse, weak voice that seemed to be on its last breath came from within the cave wall:
"Finally... we have guests arriving... please come in..."
