Chapter 77: Trap

Volume 1 Chapter 78 Trap Without Worries

  Hamilton suburb, Canada.

A centuries-old, dimly lit castle. There are no vines crawling up the walls, nor is there a thick layer of dust on the window sills. It's clear that someone has been taking care of this seemingly ancient building.

Carrie, dressed in a purple long gown, was pacing back and forth in a tidy room with some anxiety. She had always disliked dresses, preferring jeans and shirts, and would rather go naked than wear a skirt. But now she was wearing a purple long gown that complemented her slightly wild wheat-colored skin and slender figure.

"Miss Carrie, your breakfast!" A maid entered the room with a silver tray, giving off an air of medieval European nobility. "Will you be dining here or going down to the grand hall?"

Cary ignored the maid, which was very much in line with her usual temperament - cold and arrogant, unwilling to easily get along with others.

The maid seemed to be used to this treatment as well, and simply placed the plate on a small table inside the room before politely exiting.

"I knew you wouldn't want to have breakfast with me today either. So... I brought my breakfast too... and we can eat together!" A young man in a black tailcoat carefully walked over to the small table, carrying a silver plate, and sat down gingerly on the wooden stool.

He looked like he was just in his early twenties, with a head of golden hair, brown eyes, and a clean-shaven face that presented a healthy rosy complexion rather than a sickly pale one. It couldn't be denied that this was an elegant and handsome man.

On his silver platter, aside from a glass of dark red wine, there was also a piece of beef that didn't look very well done.

The young man raised his glass and was about to take a sip when he saw Carrie staring intently at the cup in his hand, and he immediately realized what had happened.

"Miss Kelly, this is not human blood, just red wine. I simply like things of this color. You should know that a count's clan does not need to rely on human blood to survive. I can go one hundred years without tasting a drop of blood and won't starve to death!" The young man said, gently swaying his wine glass, releasing a pure fragrance of red wine that filled the room.

He put down the wine glass, and the young earl picked up his knife and fork to cut off a piece of beef and send it into his mouth. However, he found that Kelly was staring at him coldly, so he put down his knife and fork again.

"Miss Kelly, it seems you don't like seeing me eat rare beef, but Miss Lisa's roasted bread is something you really should try!" The young earl pointed to the delicious-looking bread on Kelly's plate and then picked up his own plate, ready to leave.

"What do you want?" Carrie finally spoke up as the young earl walked to the door.

"We've discussed this issue on the first day you came, and I'll give you the same answer: I want to marry you!" The young earl turned around, tilting his head to look at Kelly.

"I told you, I won't agree to it! Are you planning on keeping me locked up for the rest of my life?" Carrie shouted at the young earl, her voice loud and clear. It seemed that from childhood to adulthood, she had never spoken to anyone like this before; she had always been a quiet girl.

"No, you will see! Believe me!" The young count smiled and shook his head.

"You killed William, Kirsten and Yi, you think I'll agree to marry you?" Carrie shook her head resolutely, "I'd rather die than marry you!"

"And there's another Ye Feng, isn't there?" The young earl raised an eyebrow with a smile.

"You... you won't find him!" Carrie wasn't very confident about what she had just said.

"I don't need to find him, he's already come knocking on his own!" The young earl winked at Kelly.

"What? How is this possible?" Carrie still didn't understand what was going on.

"Do you know why I went out twice?" The young earl casually placed the plate in his hand on the cabinet at the door, and then walked step by step towards Kelly. "It was to give you time to inform him!"

"You're doing this on purpose..." Carrie covered her own mouth, clearly shocked by the news. "You're using me..."

"No, I just gave you complete freedom. In fact, it's nothing that you sent him a message in front of me, I won't blame you, because I know he is your friend! Now the only one!" The young count's smile on his face carried some inexplicable meaning.

"Yefeng won't come, I've already let him escape. If you're angry, just kill me directly!" Carrie finally couldn't help but tell the truth, which was also a comfort to herself, because she had no idea what state Yefeng was in now.

"Oh, unfortunately I have to tell you, he didn't get away!" The young earl still wore a smile. "He's coming, he's come to rescue you, and he's now in Hamilton..."

"This isn't true!" Carrie's pupils suddenly constricted, she had never thought that her good intentions would lead to bad consequences. If she hadn't sent that message, Ye Feng might still be unaware of what was happening in China. It was her own message that let him know the team was in trouble, letting him track them down and putting him in mortal danger.

"It doesn't need any proof, you know whether I'm telling the truth or not!" The young earl stretched out his hand and gently touched Kelly's face with the back of his hand. "Marry me, and I won't kill him!"

Cary hesitated for a moment, lowered her head and remained silent for a while before speaking out in a low voice, "Give me some time to think..."

"No problem, take your time and enjoy it!" The young earl left with a pleasant mood.

Cary sat on the edge of the bed and took a few deep breaths, sorting out her thoughts. "No way, I have to tell Ye Feng that this is a trap, I have to get him to leave here immediately!"

She quietly walked to the door of the house, looked around left and right, didn't see anyone's movement, then stepped lightly on tiptoes and slipped into the study.

Turned on the computer in the study room, quickly entered the Hunter's webpage, and then pressed Enter.

"I forgot to tell you, I pulled out the network cable......" The young earl stood at the door of the study and knocked on the door, "But there are many movies in the computer, if you're bored, you can take a look!"

I have something to attend to this afternoon and I'm not sure when I'll be back. The chapter for this afternoon may be posted a bit later than usual.
