Chapter 41: Assault! The Devils Gate (Part 2)

Chapter 41: Sudden Attack! The Devil's Gate (2)

What is the most frustrating situation for a commander when two armies are facing each other? Is it low morale? Exhaustion of supplies? Troop chaos? Or total defeat?

None of that, what's most infuriating is that when you have an absolute advantage, your main force hasn't accomplished anything, no merit or achievement to speak of, purely just consuming supplies and slacking off. Just as you're considering whether to take these idle guys out for some sun, they get annihilated by the enemy in a carefully planned attack.

The gray-headed and earth-faced Cao Chengxiang on the surface of the Yangtze River can bear witness.

Luo Sa naturally couldn't have known the great general who almost unified the world, but now he could deeply understand Old Cao's terrible mood when he looked at the fleet turning into a sea of flames.

"When will our next wave of troops arrive?!" Furious Losa slammed his hand on the table, where a roughly drawn map of the underground world's terrain had been placed, and it instantly turned into fragments scattered all over the sky.

"Two hours left, milord!" a demonic-looking aide-de-camp hastily replied.

"Go down and cast a soul spell on the organization, mobilize all forces, and hold it up for me!"

  "Adults, this line is taboo..."

Luosa ignored the deputy officer's complaints, picked up the weapon placed on one side and walked out: "I'll take my personal guard to the transmission gate now. The front will be handed over to you. I have a bad feeling in my heart, as if something is going to happen."

"Yes, sir. Please leave it to me!"

  I am a divider line

"How long have they been inside?" Eriol asked Grey Wing while observing the battle from a high place.

"It's been about an hour and a half, I think," replied Grey Wing. "Don't worry, we're launching such a fierce attack on the front lines that the demons won't notice them."

"I hope so." Eriol nodded, "Now the devils' cannon fodder is not enough, if they don't use the undead magic then they must have been kicked in the head by a donkey. Inform Uncle Alhan to prepare for the attack, Grey Wing Auntie."

Hui Ling hastily stepped forward and grabbed Xiao Luo Li's face: "It's sister! Say, you did it on purpose, didn't you?"

  "Is Poka's house discovered?"

The grey feathers were ruffled, and two claws stretched out to rub and knead the little loli's face for a long time, until her cheeks turned red and she started apologizing before it let her go and flew away.

"Phew... I thought my face was going to be ruined. After all, Lori makes a living with this face." Eliysha rubbed her small cheeks and looked up at the chaotic battlefield, muttering to herself, "I guess it's about time to start?"

A soul-stirring wave of magical power suddenly swept across the entire battlefield, leaving many Allied soldiers momentarily stunned. Then, skeletons emerged from the ground and corpses, waving their weapons while shaking off putrid flesh, began searching for people to peddle high-calcium tablets on themselves. The Allied officers who had received advance instructions from Eriol began to retreat in an orderly manner, although they didn't know what this meant, but because of that previous fire, everyone trusted this loli.

Hordes…… Sorry, perhaps it's more fitting to describe the number of undead creatures released by the demons as a "sea". Apart from the skeletal warriors with calcium supplements and the Ghoul who would be banned from TV for not wearing a mosaic over its face, this time's undead also included the most fragile wizard in history wielding a staff. These guys, full of apocalyptic atmosphere and avant-garde body art style, along with numerous bizarre elements, covered the entire land like locusts and charged towards the Allied Forces—— Of course, given their slender legs or stiff muscles, it was only natural that the Allied Forces took first place in this race.

"The devils' plan is to use these cannon fodders to consume the Allied Forces and buy time to wait for reinforcements, what a good calculation. Since that's the case, I certainly can't let you have your way, today I'll let you clearly understand the true meaning of the word 'cannon fodder'! Open wide your dog eyes and take a good look!"

A sci-fi flavored, pink-colored half-body mech suit appeared on Eriolihya's body, covering her limbs and lower abdomen. A pair of massive mechanical arms resembling wings stretched out behind her back, which was the mounting platform for two main ship cannons and numerous close-range defense guns, with a portable Thunder God's Hammer that looked like a fire god cannon hanging at the bottom for the pilot to use. Countless floating guns and linked missile launchers whirled around Little Lori in dazzling arcs, almost occupying the entire sky——okay, I admit it's not suitable to use the word "sky" since we're underground.

The aircraft, which looked exceptionally cool and only lacked a "main character exclusive" label on it, did not attract the attention of the Allied soldiers. After all, there were so many people using their bodies to perform street dance with such enthusiasm on the opposite side.

But soon the little loli became the most eye-catching existence on the battlefield.

When the vast army of vengeful spirits from afar, stretching across the horizon like a tidal wave, was reduced to scattered smoke and flames under the relentless barrage of artillery fire, beams of light, and particle bombardment, as well as the dense swarm of missiles that rained down like a hive of bees, the expressions on the faces of the Allied soldiers were no longer those of stupidity, but rather of awe-stricken terror, as if they had witnessed divine retribution.

Fengwu Jiji is Ailisiya's last trump card, which was only played now and immediately produced a miraculous effect. The ground in the distance has become no different from the surface of Mars at this moment, even the low-level demons behind the undead creatures have been affected to some extent, almost annihilating the already scarce ones. What remains are only a few stupid devils. These 4th and 5th level demon middle commanders haven't recovered yet, but Ailisiya has already flown her mech to the top of the Allied Army:

"Zhuo Er Li Wen Bi Sheng! Warriors, now is the time to welcome our victory! Charge!!"

Alhan still thought that Eriol was going to let her own people disperse the formation of the undead, and was preparing to charge with his men. But before they could even get into position, the enemy had already been reduced to a small remnant. This left Alhan shaking his head in dismay, while also being deeply shocked and intimidated by Eriol's strength.

All he saw was Alhan raising his war spear high and shouting to his own troops: "Our charge is forever unstoppable! All enemies will be crushed under our iron hooves! Centaurs, advance!!"

The centaurs led the allied forces in a charge against the demon army, and what's more, without any artillery support from their opponents.

This time, the demons also tasted the experience of being overwhelmed by a sea of people.

Under the dynamic light wave of Evil Eye King and his subordinates, Erihlya threw a large pile of miscellaneous explosives at the panicked demons below - military experts called it saturation bombing - thoroughly crushing their formation. In order to force out the magic of the demon tribe's spirits, a lot of time had been wasted, and the next wave of reinforcements could emerge from the transmission gate at any time. The little loli squad that was sent in to destroy the transmission gate had not contacted her yet, making her anxious.

Because there were her friends and mentors in that small team.

  I am a divider line

Several dozen minutes ago, in a remote area of the plain where the Demon Portal was located, far away from the main battlefield, an elite commando team composed of coalition forces was secretly infiltrating the rear of the demon army.

This team is led by Kris, with main members including: Husky, Mercury Lamp, Moller, Peacock Dance, Granna, Li Huayin, Ilya and Michelle. They were airdropped here by a team of harpy girls, their mission being to bypass the devil's warning line, throw the two large packages of magic crystal bombs exchanged by Eriol onto the transmission gate and detonate them. The battle was handled by everyone except the last three, as for those last three people - Li Huayin and Ilya were in charge of carrying C4, while Michelle was the only one who could heal. This little bandit team is very powerful, except for the healer and the person in charge of carrying packages being a bit fragile, the tank and DPS are incredibly fierce...

Cough cough, just pretend you didn't see the last sentence.

The commando squad hid in a clump of bushes, waiting for Granna, who was responsible for scouting ahead, to return.

"Can't you stop biting on that thing?" Shuǐyín dēng said to Hú Yè, his eyes twitching at the corners.

The lollipop that was being bitten into with a crisp sound, suddenly stopped and pulled out the lolita-only divine instrument from her mouth: "How about I bite you?"

"Come on and try it out, you little lizard who hasn't even changed teeth yet."

"That's enough, you two." Chris interrupted, "We're not here to play, put away the lollipops and stuff - by the way, why did that annoying little loli put this kind of sweets in the space ring? With her personality, shouldn't it be full of prank items and joke traps instead? Lollipops don't match her at all!"

"Nothing wrong with it, at least she's willing to treat me to this."

In fact, the lollipop is "Dragon Food Experimental Type No. 1" that Eriol made with her own blood after seeing Roronoa Zoro's loli form... She herself would not normally eat this thing unless she was intentionally acting cute.

The mercury lamp didn't care much about what was in its master's bracelet anymore. After the reward point exchange mechanism was activated, even if a little loli pulled out an initial mobile suit from there and started trampling people everywhere, she wouldn't find it strange. In her opinion, that bracelet was just like the pocket on the belly of a certain all-blue robot cat with white spherical hands - pulling out a few sticks of rock candy or something was simply too easy - the crystal bomb on Li Hua's back could attest to this.

Everyone fell into silence. The situation where enemies were everywhere was really too oppressive, and Müller, who was used to fighting head-on, was restless, almost pulling out his own mustache.

  Fortunately, Granada returned soon.

"The situation ahead is a bit strange." Granna took a sip of water and composed herself, "I found a cave that should have been used by the demons as a command center, but there wasn't a single person inside, not even any guards nearby. And I saw a teleportation gate from afar, it's not a natural teleportation gate formed by the dimensional portal on the Despair Land, but rather... man-made."

Artificial! Everyone who understood the meaning of this sentence was shocked.

It is well-known that the craftsmanship of demons is extremely poor, and their weapons and armor are as if made of scrap metal. Not to mention ships or buildings. The quality of these constructed buildings can make any illegal builder on earth worship them as gods, they are absolutely masters at saving budgets, taking kickbacks, and cutting corners. Just like the mechanical products of goblins will eventually explode, the buildings of demons will always collapse halfway through construction.

But now Granna says that portal is man-made!?! When did the demons also get certified? By the way, wasn't that certificate really bought from the "certificate office" on the ground or wall?

Looking at the crowd's skeptical expressions, Granna knew no one believed her. She sighed and said, "Never mind, anyway you'll all see soon enough. Then you'll know whether I'm right or not."

"Since there's no danger ahead, let's set off! Who cares if it's man-made or not? We'll blow it to smithereens!" Kris exclaimed, clapping her hands.

Everyone got up and started making preparations for departure, such as taking out a chocolate bar to nibble on, waking up Ilya and Michelle who were sleeping together, pulling out the lollipop from Chu Ye's mouth (only the chairman had the guts to do that), pulling up Li Hua Yin who was staring at Michelle with tears in her eyes and refusing to move, smoothing out their hair (Moller and Kong Que Wu were doing this)……Gelana's eyes and mouth corners were about to cramp from watching.

It's better for this world to be destroyed!!

I naturally still haven't planned on finishing this book for now...

At the cave entrance where Granna said was used for command, everyone gazed at the transmission gate from a distance. It was indeed man-made, because nature wouldn't be stupid enough to carve purely decorative patterns on the rocky door frame without any magical purpose. The specific situation couldn't be discerned due to the great distance and the presence of some thin devils wrapped in strange cloaks guarding the transmission gate.

But soon everyone would know: further ahead was the core area near the transmission gate, and the demons had cleaned up the surroundings, not to mention hiding plants, even large stones were gone. This situation could no longer be hidden from the public eye, they could only choose to launch a strong attack.

Kris summoned several giant stone elemental puppets, with the blue big one leading the way. They formed a line and charged towards the defending army, causing the ground to shake. Morley followed closely behind, gripping his war hammer tightly, but even if he let out a fierce roar, no one would notice him amidst the puppets' footsteps and the sound of their bodies moving. Granna entered stealth mode, lurking at the edge, ready to launch a sneak attack. Kongque Dance was like a hovering dive bomber, ready to swoop down and deliver a fatal blow at any moment. The two trump cards, Hu Ye and Shui Yin Deng, stood still, guarding the nanny and C4 transport duo.

But the reaction of the other side was really beyond everyone's expectation. Logically, at this time, the demons should have approached each other to form small teams to delay time and wait for reinforcements, but these guys with cloaks and roughly the same size as ordinary adult humans were all fearless and seemingly hot-blooded, collectively launching a counterattack against everyone.

As they ran, the hood of one of them, with its blood-red earth and black sun emblem, fell away in the turmoil, revealing a face twisted into a mad grimace - a human face! These cloaked figures were all humans!

"The darkness of order will prevail over the rotten light!"

These brainwashed humans took out a suspicious opaque glass bottle, pulled out the stopper and fanatically welcomed Chris's puppet. Then, the bottle triggered a huge explosion. One person may not be able to stop the puppets' advance, but when this number reaches a certain value, Chris clearly felt the pressure.

What's it like to have a bunch of guys with explosives strapped to their bodies keep coming at you and blowing up into a bloody mess right in front of you? A normal person would be intimidated, but the puppets don't have emotions, they won't back down because of the enemy's craziness. The puppets continue to push forward through the smoke and flames until they're blocked by a group of high-ranking demons.

Such a big commotion here should have been noticed by anyone. Losa brought his men over quickly.

After seeing the devil, these humans became even more fanatical, but Kris couldn't find any trace of mind control magic on them, which means they were all sober at this moment! This was simply terrifying.

A man wearing a specially made cloak unlike any other appeared before the towering Losa: "Our great Dark Lord, the devout followers of the Cursed Faith humbly welcome your arrival."

But Losa didn't reason with him, instead casting his gaze towards a group of infiltrators not far away who were cautiously on guard: "Was the unease in my heart because of you guys? When will you weak and ignorant yet naive guys who insist on maintaining your ridiculous honor choose to launch a sneak attack?"

Everyone in the surprise attack team suddenly had Eliya's figure appear in their minds. Of course, no one would say it out loud.

"It doesn't matter if you don't say anything." Losa waved his hand and the Imperial Guard behind him immediately charged forward.

Kris wanted to manipulate the puppet to attack, but saw that the hooded man with an unclear face stepped forward and pointed at Kris loudly saying: "Your opponent is me!" Before the words fell, a huge magic array suddenly appeared on the ground, and several hellfires with flames all over their bodies quickly drilled out of the magic array.

"Hmm, a 4th-level Flame Mage?!" Kris spat out the chocolate bar in her mouth, "You're a human being, why are you assisting demons?!"

"This world has rotted too severely and must be reborn! The Demon Clan is the order in darkness that we have always believed in, they will destroy all injustice!" The man charged at Chris with a crazed look on his face, swinging the flames of hell, "Remember my name, I am Laizel Gaia, the representative of the Great Cursed Church! Woman, be proud to die by my hands!"

"You little brat is getting too cocky over there!!" Chris yelled as she commanded the puppet to charge forward.

On the other side, however, the vanguard line consisting of Moller, Peacock Dance and Granna had already been surrounded by Losa's personal guard. If it weren't for Moller's thick skin, as well as Peacock Dance's swift protection in mid-air and Granna's occasional harassment, this small team would have probably fallen long ago. Even so, the situation was extremely unfavorable, with defeat being only a matter of time.

As for Losa, he directly came to the front of the remaining five people. Just as he felt that two of them had crystal bombs in their backpacks and hadn't taken any action yet, Losa saw a black-haired loli walk out of the line and come before him, her small mouth open, taking a deep breath:

  "ROAR!!!!!!"

Someone spat on him, this was Losa's first thought.

Long breath is not saliva, nor is it leftover food from overnight, please remember...

"So that's how it is, you're a giant dragon." Losa emerged from the rolling sea of flames with his body flashing with purple battle aura armor, "Well, I have just the right toy for you here."

Luo Sa said, taking out a small piece of white bone and tossing it into the air. A huge, pure black magic array with an evil yet exceptionally beautiful aura appeared. A giant white skeleton emerged from the empty eye sockets, burning with a greenish-blue soul fire, and unfolded its wings formed by bony wings and a pale blue light membrane in between. It let out a defiant roar towards the sky, instantly drawing everyone's attention.

A roar like thunder on a summer night.

  This is a skeleton dragon.
