Chapter 3: Metallic Madness

  Act 3: Rule Of Nature

  Sonic stares at the broken Emerald in shock.

  Sonic: But, Why?!

  Metal: You are faster. You would have taken it. We cannot allow for that. Now-

  Metal throws Amy down the steel road.

  Metal: Shall we dance?

  Sonic: Yeah. Take My Hand!

  Sonic tries to punch Metal, but is met with a mirrored hit of equal strength. Sonic keeps throwing forth hits and kicks and Metal keeps perfectly matching them. Before long, the two grapple onto each-other's hands and headbutt one-another.

  Sonic: Heh! You might know everything I'm going to do, but that's not going to help you, Since I Know Everything You're Going To Do!!

  They slam their heads against each-other.

  Sonic: Strange, Isn't It?!

  Metal: With such a weak mind, you are not worthy as my opponent. Flash!

  Metal's eyes flash a bright light for a moment, staggering Sonic.

  Metal: Scum.

  Metal boosts his arm into Sonic's chin with a powerful uppercut, sending him onto his back. Metal then walks up to his head and puts its robotic foot above his skull.

  Metal: Rest in peace.

  Just then, Amy pounds Metal's head with a huge hammer so hard that it turns to its back. As Sonic gets up and stands near her, Metal turns its head the right way.

  Sonic: Thanks, girl.

  Amy: H-He's Still Up!

  Metal: So, you do have the Piko-Piko Hammer. Now, I'm a little motivated. Flash!

  The two close their eyes as it flashes its light. As it steps towards them, Sonic starts fighting it.

  Sonic: This is Our fight!

  Metal: Begone.

  As Metal punches Sonic's chest, Amy jumps up and swings down her hammer on its head, making it crunch down into its body.

  Metal: You... Will not... Forget... This robot's... Power.....

  The back of Metal's head pops open as it falls to the floor on its face.

  Sonic: Nice work.

  Amy: Th-Thank you, sir.

  Sonic: “Sir?” That won't do. You can call me “Sonic, the Hedgehog.”

  Amy: I-I'm Amy Rose. Thank you for saving me.

  She bursts into tears, hugs him, and puts her head on his shoulder.

  Sonic: Hey, we saved each-other. No need for thanks...

  After a moment, he puts an arm around her.

  Sonic: I'll get you through it.

  Tails runs up to the two of them.

  Tails: Hey! How'd you beat him without the Emerald?

  Sonic: Amy's got this sweet hammer. Say, where'd it go?

  Amy: I-I can make it go away.

  Tails: A disappearing hammer? Sounds like some kind of old magic. Anyway, where is the Emerald?

  Sonic: It's that red pile over there.

  Tails: What?! No, no, No!

  Tails scoops up all of the pieces of the Chaos Emerald and they meld themselves together to reform the Emerald.

  Tails: What the... Yes! It can mend itself! We still have a chance against Robotnik!

  Sonic: Good. 'Cause, I've got plenty of motivation to bring him down.
