Chapter 1: Green Green Hills of Home

  Act 1: Discovery

  Between Robotnik's expanding empire and the great Mindor Forest, there rests lush, green hills almost as far as the eye can see. As a group of Freedom Fighters hide behind a hill, one of them stares at the empire with his binoculars.

  Fang the Sniper: 56

  Fang: Route's clear. Others did their job well, it seems. I'll keep it clear from here.

  Fang picks up his sniper rifle and aims it at the empire.

  Fang: Sally-girl, you can lead 'em in.

  Sally Acorn: 13

  Sally: (Get in. Get the tech. Get out) Roger!

  Sally leads her small group over the hill.

  Sonic the Hedgehog: 12

  Sonic: Ya mind if we move a little faster, babe? I'm ready to smash some steel!

  Sally: I'm not your “Babe,” Sonic. And, there won't be any smashing. The others already handled-

  Sonic: All of the bots along the path. 'Less they got all the bots in the city, I'm gonna get something to smash with!

  Sally: Fine! Find a weapon, but don't use it.

  Sonic: Good by me... *Yawn* You know what? I'm gonna go on ahead. Make sure the bots are really dead.

  Sally: Sonic, no.

  He runs past her.

  Sally: Sonic!

  Miles “Tails” Prower: 9

  Tails: I'll catch up to him!

  Tails runs after Sonic.

  Sally: Tails! Ugh! Can Anybody Take This Mission Seriously?!

  Bunnie “Rabbot” Nicholson: 12

  Bun: I'm with ya, sugar. But, these two gotta make their own mistakes now.

  Sally: I was never This brash.

  Bun: Y'all keep telling yourself that.

  Tails barely keeps up with Sonic.

  Tails: Hey! Slow down!

  Sonic starts running backwards.

  Sonic: See Ya Later, Tails!

  While running backwards, Sonic trips on a bunker door that's in the ground and he falls on his back.

  Sonic: Ah, Geez!

  Tails runs up to him and helps him up.

  Tails: You okay, Sonic?

  Sonic: Just a little slip. What tripped me anyhow?

  Tails: Looks like a weird door. What if Robotnik has a secret robot in there?

  Sonic: Then, let's see what 'Buttnik's up to.

  Sonic opens the door upward and starts climbing down a ladder.

  Tails: But! What if it's dangerous?!

  Sonic: Then, you'd better come save me!

  Tails: A-Alright.

  Tails descends down the ladder with Sonic. The two find themselves in some sort of abandoned control room that still has its lights on.

  Sonic: What the heck is this?

  Tails: Um... I dunno.

  Sonic: There anything you Do know?

  Tails: I haven't seen this stuff before.

  Sonic: Yup! Doesn't look like robo-tech to me. Where do you think that door goes?

  A shutter door rests at the back of the room with a button next to it.

  Tails: To a big robot.

  Sonic: Yeah! Let's open it!

  Tails: O-Okay.

  Sonic pushes the button, opening the door. Behind it, there's a room that has the green Chaos Emerald resting in a pedestal in the center.

  Tails: Ooo. Cool.

  Sonic: Way Past Cool! Let's take that thing back to the others. It can be the jewel on my wedding ring for Sally.

  Tails: I don't think it'd fit too well.

  Sonic: That's what we call a “Joke,” my extra-limbed fellow.

  Tails: Oh.

  Sonic grabs the Chaos Emerald and it shocks him onto his back.

  Tails: Sonic!

  Tails grabs Sonic.

  Sonic: H-Holy Christmas lights, tail-man.

  Sonic passes out.

  Tails: But, I don't understand. How did...

  Tails carefully touches the Emerald and gets shocked too.

  Tails: AAAH!!!

  He passes out as the other Freedom Fighters step down the ladder. Sally and Bunnie walk into the Emerald's chamber.

  Sally: My gosh. That's a Chaos Emerald.

  Bun: Watch it, sugar. Looks like it shocked 'em real good. Allow me.

  Bunnie picks up the Emerald with her robotic arm as Sally takes out a communicator.

  Sally: This is princess Sally Acorn. I'm calling off the mission. We won't be needing that tech anymore. We have something far better now.
