Chapter 22: Is There Anything You Don’t Dare to Do?

The arm was originally set for seven, but Shi Muxi just couldn’t get up. In the end, they had to sprint over to avoid being te.

"What floor?" Su Yumian gnced at her and asked.

"Second floor." Compared to Su Yumian’s calm demeanor, Shi Muxi, who had run without a care for her appearance, bit her lip in frustration.

They stepped out of the elevator together. Noticing the exam prep materials in Su Yumian’s hands, Shi Muxi’s expression turned odd. "You’re here to study too? Don’t tell me you’re preparing for the graduate entrance exam?"

Su Yumian said nothing, her expression indifferent.

Shi Muxi muttered to herself, "Plenty of university students can’t even pass. You, who graduated years ago—do you seriously think you can make it?"

Su Yumian spoke lightly, "Whether I pass or not is another matter. The university students you’re talking about who can’t pass—are you referring to yourself?"

Shi Muxi almost lost her composure.

She was in her third year of university and had no pns to work yet. She had just started preparing for the exam and wasn’t in a rush, with a whole year ahead of her.

Some of her roommates had already made detailed study pns, but she had skated by in university, thinking that if she passed, great—if not, Jiang Yihuai would have her back.

Su Yumian’s words had hit her right where it hurt.

"You think everyone is like you? Whether I pass or not doesn’t matter to me. He said that anything I want, he’ll pce right in front of me."

Su Yumian had no interest in arguing. "Is that so? Well, I hope you’ll always have that confidence."

With that, she caught up with He Songcheng, who had already walked ahead with the crowd.

A roommate watched Su Yumian leave, then turned to Shi Muxi, who was fuming. Her eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Muxi, who is she?"

Shi Muxi brushed it off. "Just someone I’ve seen twice. Let’s go, we need to grab good seats."

Halfway there, she suddenly thought of something and asked, "Do you know how to make millet porridge?"

"Huh? Never made it before. But there are plenty of tutorials online. Just look it up."

Shi Muxi immediately downloaded a cooking app and found detailed step-by-step instructions.

Once she found a seat, she focused entirely on studying the recipe, spending the whole morning on it.

Her roommate noticed that she hadn’t even opened her study materials and thought about saying something, but then reconsidered. After all, she was dating a rich second-generation heir—her future was secure. Why bother giving advice?

By noon, after leaving the library, Shi Muxi went straight to the supermarket and came back with a pile of cookware and millet.

  Her roommate: "?"

Shi Muxi: "Starting today, I’m going to learn to be a virtuous girlfriend."

As if Su Yumian was the only one who could make porridge!

  Her roommate: "……"

  —

The moon was high, and the city lights never dimmed.

Jiang Yihuai finished work, exhausted. The driver dropped him off at his vil. As soon as he stepped out, a familiar figure rushed toward him enthusiastically.

"Baby, I’ve been waiting for you forever! You’re finally home!"

Jiang Yihuai had to take two steps back to steady himself. He gestured for the driver to leave. "When did you get here?"

"I came in the afternoon. Do you always work this te? That must be so tiring. Let me give you a massage!" She reached out, but he subtly dodged.

"I’m not tired. Did you come here for something?"

Shi Muxi pursed her lips, then turned to pick up a thermal bag beside her feet. She took out a bowl of millet porridge.

"You said before that you wanted to drink millet porridge. I made this for you. Try it and see how it tastes."

Jiang Yihuai frowned slightly, unlocked the door with his fingerprint, and gnced back at her. "Come inside."

This was the first time since they started dating that Shi Muxi had been allowed inside this vil. Her heart pounded wildly. She took a deep breath before following him in. She knew the vil was rge, spacious, and bright, but standing inside for the first time was something else entirely.

The American-style décor featured muted tones of gray, brown, bck, and white—low-key yet exuding luxury in every detail.

Shi Muxi had taken an art appreciation css in her second year and immediately recognized the paintings on the walls as Qi Baishi’s. The furnishings were even more extravagant. Even a seemingly ordinary trash bin had an "LV" logo on it.

Beyond the living room was a meticulously maintained indoor garden. There was also a private theater, a gym, and a corner with an expensive set of golf clubs. She had heard that this vil community had its own golf course.

  Shi Muxi clenched her palm.

Before she met Jiang Yihuai, the most luxurious thing she had ever seen was a cssmate’s limited-edition Hermès crocodile-skin Kelly bag, valued at 300,000 yuan in the second-hand market—enough to buy a three-bedroom apartment in her hometown.

Yet here, the prestigious "H" logo was everywhere—the keychain, the mahjong set, the lighter…

If she could stay by Jiang Yihuai’s side forever, marry him, and bear his children, wouldn’t that mean she could have all of this too?

A grand vil, designer bags, a driver at her beck and call, maids to serve her…

Jiang Yihuai didn’t notice her distraction.

The millet porridge was thick, but after taking just one sip, he set the spoon down.

Shi Muxi blinked. "Why aren’t you drinking? Is it not good?"

Jiang Yihuai: "I just ate after work. I’m not that hungry yet. I’ll have it ter."

"Oh, okay. If you said it was bad, I’d be heartbroken," Shi Muxi pouted, resting her face in her hands. "It’s my first time cooking. You should cut me some sck."

Jiang Yihuai gently ruffled her hair. "No csses today? You had time to cook?"

"It’s almost finals, so there aren’t many csses. And I’m pnning to take the graduate exam, so I spent the day studying at the library before coming over."

Thinking about her earlier encounter with Su Yumian, Shi Muxi’s gaze flickered. She changed the subject.

"The news said there’s going to be a meteor shower soon. Let’s find time to watch it together, okay?"

Jiang Yihuai responded with a soft "Mm," showing no impatience, but the way he loosened his tie carried a hint of irritation. "The news these days—it’s hard to tell what’s real. We’ll see when the time comes."

Shi Muxi took the hint and didn’t press further.

"It’s te," he stood up. "I’ll take you back to your dorm."

Shi Muxi bit her lip, thinking about how she had deliberately changed into a low-cut dress before coming.

She smiled and wrapped her arms around his, her chest brushing against him ever so lightly. "You’re in such a hurry to send me away?"

Her pyful tone, paired with her innocent smile, made her seem as sweet as melting candy. The air itself seemed to carry a sugary scent.

Jiang Yihuai’s lips curled slightly. "My self-control is terrible. I don’t dare keep you here."

"You? Is there anything you don’t dare to do?" She looked up, a blend of innocence and seduction in her gaze.

  "There is," he chuckled.

  "Brother Yihuai, actually, I…"

"Let’s go," Jiang Yihuai cut her off before she could finish. He picked up his car keys. "If you get back too te, won’t your dorm supervisor scold you again?"

Shi Muxi stuck out her tongue and followed him out.

At the door, she suddenly paused.

"Brother Yihuai, you say there are things you don’t dare to do. What if I give you another challenge? Would you dare?"
