Kwangsun was an orphan who grew up in an abusive orphanage, constantly bearing scars and bruises from mistreatment. School wasn't any better, as he was bullied relentlessly. At 18, he left the orphanage, only to struggle with making ends meet. His landlord was pressuring him to pay rent or face eviction.
One day, as he walked down the road burdened by his troubles, he was arrested for a murder he didn't commit. Despite his pleas of innocence, the police ignored him and tortured him, knowing he had no means to fight back or anyone to support him.
In court, Kwangsun insisted he had only spoken to Ji-Yeong and didn't kill him. The judge, finding no evidence, scolded the police and released him. With sore feet and bleeding limbs, Kwangsun slept on the streets. The next morning, he used his saved rent money to treat his injuries at the hospital.
