County Town Chapter 18: Four Sides Embankment
Yi Tianxing sat dazedly outside the operating room, his face occasionally flashing with an inexplicable expression. His hands, placed on his knees, clenched into fists, sometimes tightening and sometimes loosening as he subconsciously stroked the edge of the hospital's long wooden chair. He glanced at the brightly lit operating room lights and slowly closed his eyes.
He had never felt so guilty in his life, all because of his relationship, and yet that cheerful girl suffered so much. It was from this night on that Yi Tianxing learned something - to be direct and ruthless towards one's enemies, to eliminate the possibility before they could harm him. This point remained true even when he faced unimaginable opponents in places beyond ordinary people's imagination.
Lailai was injured in the accident. Fortunately, when the small truck crashed over, Yitian Xing blocked Lailai's front and bore most of the force. Later, when the car passed by, Lailai did not suffer further injuries. The doctor's previous examination showed that she had a comminuted fracture of the fibula and was also in shock. As for whether there were any other problems, it would take some time to observe.
After a while, Zou Laoshi and Auntie Pang, who had been called out of bed, also rushed over with anxious faces. Yi Tianxing stood up with a guilty conscience to greet them.
Unexpectedly, the two kind and lovely adults not only did not blame him but instead comforted him a few words when they saw the tears in his eyes and that unremovable deep remorse.
It wasn't until much later that Laila was finally wheeled out of the operating room, still under anesthesia and fast asleep.
The police officer on duty at the hospital finally had time to take a statement from Yi Tianxing. Earlier, when this young policeman wanted to ask Yi Tianxing questions, he found that this student was emitting a chilling aura all over his body, and it was as if he was like a small leopard, terrifying.
Yitian casually responded to the police with a few sentences. He didn't want to tell the whole story, because if he did, he would have to explain the holes in the truck and the explosion. So he simply fabricated a common traffic accident that often occurred in the county town.
After finishing all these things, he told Zhou Lele's parents to go buy some food for Lele and then walked out of the hospital building.
He picked up a phone in the porter's room at the hospital entrance.
"Hello, is this Uncle Hu? Is Hu Yun there?"
"Who is this? It's already so late." A middle-aged man's voice came from the receiver, his tone laced with fatigue.
Yi Tianxing suddenly realized it was almost 1 am and said with a hint of apology, "I'm his classmate. I have some questions about an assignment that's very important. Sorry to bother you."
"Oh, wait a minute, I'll go call him over." Then came the sound of scolding.
Hu Yun, who was in a sweet dream, was woken up by his father, and as soon as he picked up the phone on his bedside table, he heard a chilling sentence from Yi Tian Xing.
"Where does Xue San'er live?"
Hu Yun was taken aback for a moment, and the fatigue in his mind instantly disappeared. After thinking for a while, he said, "What do you want to do?"
"It's nothing, it's just a bit of trouble finding him." Yi Tianxing said calmly into the receiver.
Hu Yun furrowed his brow on the other end of the receiver and said, "I'm just passing on a message, I really don't know."
"Don't fool me, otherwise the consequences will be severe."
Hu Yun heard the naked threat and thought for a moment before saying, "What's going on? He's the big boss of the East Gate gang, don't mess with him."
"Mind your own business."
"What's going on?" Hu Yun said stubbornly: "Although I don't like you, you know that too, but after all, we're classmates, and I don't want you to go get yourself killed."
Yitian Xing smiled slightly into the microphone, thought for a moment, and still decided to tell this classmate who didn't take a liking to him.
"He yelled at someone to hit me with a car, I'm fine, but... Lere is still in the hospital."
"Are you with Lere?" A hint of sourness rose from the depths of Hu Yun's heart, but was immediately stirred up by the murderous intent in those words. "...Originally, I wouldn't have any reason to care even if you went to send yourself to death. But...you'd better not go and cause trouble, do you want my dad to step out and talk to him?"
"Speak." Yi Tianxing dropped a crisp word.
……
……
"It's in Si Fang Wei Xiaoqu, but I really don't know where the address is."
"Thank you."
"Don't panic, listen to me..."
Yi Tianhang hung up the phone and handed it to the old man in the delivery room who was yawning, gave him 50 cents, and walked out of the hospital gate.
………………………………
Si Fang Wei residential area is a somewhat strange place in Gaoyang County, although the housing prices are not cheap, but truly wealthy people disdain to live here. The location is not biased, and truly honest people dare not live here either, so the remaining ones are those who make a fortune by unconventional means. People living inside do not know who is a retired thief or who is a notorious big thief. In such a place where dragons and snakes are mixed together, Xue Saner's notorious reputation on the road over the years is naturally known to everyone.
Yitian Xing easily obtained Xue Saner's door number from the doorman. He bent the guest registration pen into two pieces with his fingers, then gently pinched the doorman's index finger and whispered: "Where does Xue Saner live?"
"Building 4, Block E." The security guard stared at his own index finger in shock, unable to comprehend how the young man in front of him could move so quickly.
"Don't think about shouting anything out, otherwise if Xue San'er finds out that you told the Qiu family his door number, your future days will be difficult."
Yitian Xing finished speaking and slipped into the dense black night of the residential area.
He had the tips of his toes on the ground, and with a speed that ordinary people could not achieve, he floated forward, approaching the floor painted with a large A. He used his fingers to dig into the gaps in the wall, walking upwards as freely as a gecko.
Yi Tian Xing climbed to the third floor, looked up at the still lit lights on the fourth floor, frowned slightly, and with a push of his toes against the wall, he floated over to the left. Just as his body was about to drop, his right index finger hooked onto the downspout outside the balcony.
He flexed his forearm, and the muscles contracted like a bundle of silk threads. His entire body was lifted by just this slender index finger, drawing an arc as he floated gently onto the balcony of that brightly lit room.
The moon in the sky had long since disappeared, and in the thick night, the county town was quieter than quiet, with only him standing on the balcony of that room.
He gently pushed the wooden door of the balcony, found it locked inside, so he tightly grasped the door handle, used a bit of brute force, hummed softly, and pushed forward.
The thin iron bolt on the door creaked and was brutally broken off.
The door was wide open, and the bright yellow light spilled out, shining on the night sky of the residential area.
………………………………
The gangsters who were fighting around the mahjong table finally came to their senses.
"You little thief with no eyes!" Someone rushed over and punched him.
Yi Tianxing stared straight into his eyes, his gaze calm. Just as the punch was about to hit his face, he suddenly dodged to one side with incredible speed, and in that instant, the punch that had been thrown with full force hit empty air, making a cracking sound, and astonishingly, it dislocated.
Yi Tian Xing's eyes flashed with a cold intent, his right hand formed a fist and shot up, heavily hitting the empty armpit of that person.
He knows this place best.
He just wants this group of people to know pain.
That man let out a mournful cry of "Ah"!
The crowd, stunned by his punch, shouted and rushed up. Yi Tianxing swung his fists at an extremely fast speed, walking among the crowd. Yi Tianxing's neural response speed was too fast, far beyond the normal person's imagination, so in the fight, all the opponent's movements seemed to be slowed down, like a slow-moving plane graph presented in front of him, giving him enough time to dodge and strike.
He was just a young student, he had never killed anyone and didn't want to kill anyone, so his fists weren't used with full force. But occasionally one punch would land on the opponent's body, with hundreds of kilograms of power accompanied by a whistling sound, each punch sending someone tumbling down. The room still echoed with the sound of bones shattering, mournful wails.
……
……
Before long, he was the only one left standing in the room.
The rest of the people were lying on the ground, gasping for breath, with blood or white foam oozing from their lips, staring at the young man in front of them with a frightened expression as if they had seen a ghost.
Yi Tian Xing pulled down the cloth pad on the mahjong table, wiped his blood-stained right hand, and swept a glance at the faces of the people lying on the ground in the house. He was somewhat disappointed that he didn't see Xue San Er's figure.
He then politely asked those Daoist brothers who were beaten like dead dogs:
"Hello, is Xue San'er at home?"
