Chapter 5 Born Genius
Nina clearly remembered that when Lin Feng was born from her own abdomen, he didn't cry or make a fuss, but quietly looked at the maid who delivered him, not moving at all. When Nina didn't hear her child's crying voice, a huge despair immediately surged up in her heart - could it be that my child is born an idiot?
Fortunately, the maid quietly placed Lin Feng on Nina's bed head, looking at the little guy's calm eyes, Nina's heart unknowingly rose with a sense of relief, as if her child was a genius and would grow up to change her tragic fate.
And just as Nina thought, Lin Feng had been very quiet since he was a child and could speak in less than two months. Although the little guy still had unclear pronunciation, Nina was delighted to find that what came out of his mouth was "mother".
In less than five months, Lin Feng was already able to walk crookedly, although he still stumbled a bit, but this was something that would never happen with ordinary children. However, she discovered that her son seemed to be deliberately hiding it from others, and in front of other people, he would still quietly lie in his mother's arms, only when he was alone with his mother would he struggle out of her arms and take a few steps for himself to see.
Apart from these two points, Nina also found that her child rarely wets the bed. When he wants to pee, he will shake the small bell on the bedside very cleverly.
Moreover, the child's daily routine is extremely regular. Every morning at a fixed time, they wake up on their own and sleep when the sun sets without needing anyone to urge them. When hungry, they ring the small bell once; when wanting to use the restroom, they ring it twice; and when waking up in the morning, they ring it three times.
All signs indicate that Lin Feng is simply a genius!
However, due to his illegitimate status, Lin Feng could not enjoy the identity and treatment that a marquis's son should have had. Except for free accommodation, he even had to pay out of his own pocket for food and drink.
At the age of eight, Lin Feng's mother had spent all her savings on him, and from then on, they would have to face an empty stomach every day.
Under Nina's repeated pleas to the old butler, Shili, he finally agreed to give them three dry breads every day, considering Lin Feng's face - after all, even if Nina's status was lowly, her son Lin Feng was still a marquis' son!
For three free dry breads every day, Nina was already very content. She was a woman of simple means and an ordinary person who had no ability to earn money at all. The only thing she felt guilty about in her heart was her son Lin Feng.
But Lin Feng was very obedient. Every day, he would only eat one of the three dry breads, and no matter how Nina coaxed him, Lin Feng refused to open his mouth for the remaining two.
So, after two years of simmering, the old butler Shiri finally refused to give Nina and her mother even three dry breads, because in these ten years, he had not seen a single word of inquiry about Nina and her mother from Marquis Carson's letters.
Even the three Marchioness who were being neglected, Marquis Carson would occasionally mention them from time to time, but as for Nina and her mother... Old Hili knew that the Marquis had already forgotten about them.
It was then that Nina and Lin Feng were finally driven out of the Marquis's mansion by old butler Hili, just as Lin Feng had turned ten years old.
Nina had mentally prepared for this outcome, so when the old steward asked her to take Lin Feng and leave, Nina did not show any dissatisfaction, and calmly took Lin Feng away from the Marquis's mansion.
However, Nina couldn't help but feel a sense of despair in her heart. An ordinary woman with a ten-year-old child, how could she continue to survive in this world?
"Afterwards, I brought my son to the bar, and what happened afterwards, you already know..."
As Nina finished her last sentence, the great magician finally nodded his head and understood why he saw a noble temperament in Nina. It was natural that the marquis's personal maid would have to undergo some professional training.
But what Nina said was not what the great magician wanted to know, he looked at Lin Feng who suddenly fell silent and continued to say to Nina: "Respected Nina, first of all I express my sympathy for you and your son, but I also want to ask Miss Nina a question..."
Nina let out a sigh: "Please ask, sir. My son's and my lives were both saved by you. I will tell you everything I know, honestly."
"I'd like to ask, before the little guy could remember things, didn't he encounter some strange experiences? That's why the little guy has some unusual abilities that are different from ordinary people?"
The great magician's eyes had already lit up with a spark, looking at Nina with anticipation, wanting to sense something from her expression.
But the great magician was soon disappointed, for Nina first furrowed her brow, thought seriously for a moment, and then a bewildered expression floated onto her beautiful face, as if she didn't quite understand the great magician's question: "The things you said, sir, I don't quite understand. My son has never left my side since he was born, and I have always lived in the Marquis' mansion. There has never been anything like an adventure happening to him."
"Oh, you're saying that for these ten years, you've all been living very peacefully?"
The great magician's face showed a look of disappointment, but he couldn't help asking one more question.
"Yes."
Nina first honestly admitted, but seeing the disappointed expression on the great magician's face, she couldn't help but feel anxious and hurriedly continued: "Sir, my son is a genius, he has never cried since childhood, even when learning to walk and falling down, he didn't complain at all..."
"Alright, I know now, your son is indeed a genius!"
This time, the great magician interrupted Nina's chatter, but couldn't help but praise Lin Feng. Then, he stood up again and continued to say to Nina: "Respected Nina, now I think I need to have a good talk with your son. You can choose to go out to the lawn and sit for a while."
Nina seemed to have something more to say, but hearing the great magician's order to leave, she could only sigh and turn around to go out. As she was leaving, she took a serious look at her son, and on Lin Feng's childish face, Nina clearly saw a gaze of "concern" cast upon herself.
