Before we entered Alex stops us and introduces a new guest who’s participating in just this ruin run due to their knowledge on ruins. She explained she asked him to join us on this run a few hours before bringing us here due to his knowledge on everything.
Alex, “Everyone meet Zakk. He owns a Tavern in the town and has joined us today wanting to find some artifacts that’ll help with his information on ruins. He’s also an awakened so be sure to work together and get along.”
Entire team in unison, “Nice to meet you.”
Zakk and I made eye contact and he gives me a concerned look, almost like as if he knew what had happened to me. Shortly after, we walk into the ruin. This one was quiet, sort of like it was empty. I kept my eyes on a swivel as the entire team walked together and spoke about the ruin. Suddenly, we reach a room that had nothing but diamonds and emeralds in it, shining bright. We stop and the team starts collecting it, but I get uneasy. I feel dark energy, it was faint at the beginning but now it feels stronger. As if it’s getting closer. The shining light from diamonds and emeralds suddenly lose it’s light. I tell Alex to stand up and be wary, she looks at me confused but then trusts my gut feeling.
A shadowy figure comes out of one of the team members shadows, but we see the figure drain the energy of the members power. Killing that member, still unknown what him draining the power does for himself. Zakk stands in disbelief, eyes wide open and turns to us.
Zakk says concerned, “I- i thought this was only a myth. We’ve entered the ruin of “The Harbinger… RUN! We have to save ourselves.”
Suddenly, it dashes towards Zakk but I toss him out the way before it’s able to touch him. Now The Harbinger and I standing eye to eye. Zakk yelling, “Get away. He’ll kill you. Alex is the only strong awakened user here, she’ll be able to have a fighting chance but it’s too risky.” Before I knew it, Harbinger threw a punch. I barely dodge it. It then roars, throwing punch after punch at me, all connecting and sending me flying into a wall. It seems like the gem's power gave me more durability, it barely even hurt and I am able to stand up like nothing happened.
I say, “Alex, keep Zakk safe. I’ll handle this. Trust me.”
Alex replies anxious, “O-okay.”

I run towards the Harbinger, dodging its first set of punches and throwing an uppercut that connects, sending it into the sky. I jump and connect another punch as he falls, but after connecting that punch he disappears into my shadow. I try to stay vigilant but suddenly he appears out of my shadow, landing a hit on me that sends me into the ground. Angered, a purple aura starts spewing out of me, I feel lighter and begin to stand up. Harbinger taking a step back felt the pressure of my aura, knowing this fight's momentum may just change. Harbinger runs at me, throwing a punch but throws a punch at the air. Not realizing I’m already behind him, landing a powerful punch on his back that sends him flying into a wall. He takes the opportunity to hide in my shadows but when he comes out, the next thing he saw was my hand grip his face and slam him into the ground.
Out of desperation, Harbinger fires a spell that hits me dead on. Alex looks in disbelief and says, “That was his spell, that was my team member's spell.”
Zakk says, “It seems like that’s not a myth either, the Harbinger is known to drain the powers of it’s enemies and make it it’s own.”
I stare and laugh after getting up, “Making me the best match for it, because I don’t know any spells yet. All I can do is throw hands.”
After I made that statement, I connect a punch to Harbinger's face, then connecting one too his chest. He tries to punch me back, but I dodge both punches yet I wasn’t able to see the move he did next, sending an energy blast at me that hits me on my side. I fall to the ground, holding my side as blood drips. I start standing up slowly, refusing to give up and suddenly feel a warm aura touching my side, it’s Alex, she’s healing me. Harbinger see’s this and tries to attack her, I stop this by grabbing his face and slamming him into the ground. I pull my first back in anger, noticing a purple aura surround my first, landing the punch on his chest. Alex then fires a shot of magic at the Harbinger, hitting him and causing a roar from it. Her aid just now set me up for my next set of punches. My last punch connected straight to it’s chest, we hear a crack. It was an amulet, energy started roaming rampant then fusing with the Harbinger. We notice it’s increase in power but also hear echos of screams coming from the energy roaming rampant. The cries grew louder and louder, making the air feel depressing. Suddenly, the cries leave, nothing but silence left in the area.
Once all the energy fused with Harbinger, the ground trembled, shadowy figures began to emerge from the ground. These monsters not only dark and menacing, but also resemble the Harbinger. Once these monsters rose, the Harbingers energy stabilized. His aura now darker and more powerful than ever.
