Chapter 3: Shocking Dream
Xiaoyu gently pulled out a silver hairpin from her hair, with a pink pearl inlaid on it. The silver pin was made into the shape of a ordinary phoenix, holding the pearl in its mouth. Xiaoyu tossed the silver pin upwards, and Bai Qi only saw a pink glow flying forward, dispersing the fog and rushing ahead.
"Xiao Bai Ge, stay close, it's easy to get lost here."
"How did you know there was something down here?"
Xiao Yu smiled lightly and pointed at the flying silver hairpin: "It's not that I know, it's that it knows."
Bai Qi didn't dare ask again, and could only follow closely, taking light steps. The ground was slippery, with the sound of running water, and water falling from above, making a dripping sound.
It only took a moment, and Xiaoyu reached out to recall the silver hairpin in front of her. The light instantly disappeared. She turned around and grabbed Bai Qi's hand, whispering: "Later, no matter what you see, don't make a sound, I'm not a match for those monks."
Bai Qi naturally didn't dare say that everything was up to his standards, Xiao Yu was a monster, and his swordsmanship wasn't even Innate, in the Great Jin Dynasty he wouldn't be considered a top expert.
Ahead, there is already a bright light, which is the crevice of the rock. Squeezing out from this crack, it has left the cave and entered a wonderful space. The surrounding rocks are high and suspended, encircling a large pit in the sky. In the pit, there are red walls and green tiles, with Buddhist chanting sounds lingering around.
"This is the Red Lotus Temple, those outside are just added decorations." Xiaoyu said this and signaled to Baiqi not to make a sound. She led her young master, winding their way, to a place beneath a cliff. On this cliff was carved a gigantic Buddha statue, with a majestic appearance, its feet stepping on a lotus pedestal, holding a demon-subduing pestle in its hand.
The starlight couldn't shine in, and the rain slipped into a natural cave on the side of the lotus pedestal of the Buddha statue. Before long, the rain came out with an extra package in hand.
The package was very heavy, and Xiaoyu had it slung over her back, tied tightly with ropes.
"Is that it?" Bai Qi couldn't help but ask, he thought there would be more excitement, but unexpectedly they just arrived at a remote courtyard and rummaged through an unguarded cave.
Xiao Yu patted the bundle on his back and said, "Little White Brother, we didn't come here to cause trouble. However, if you want to take a look, we can find a nearby monk and let you see."
Bai Qi nodded in agreement, and the small rain led him around several courtyards to the outside of a large hall. This hall was built extremely high, and Bai Qi knew that its height exceeded the specifications for buildings in this world. The hall was even taller than the palaces in the imperial palace, with glazed tiles and the scent of agarwood wafting from afar.
The hall was brightly lit, with people's shadows swaying back and forth. Two figures leaned in close together, peering inward from the base of the window.
On the window was a silver-red gauze, and the small rain had taken away the root of the silver needle. It pierced through a little, letting Bai Qi learn from it. Bai Qi felt refreshed by this action, which seemed like something out of a legendary novel about a heroic figure in the pugilistic world.
With some tension in his heart, Bai Qi saw Xiao Yu's face suddenly turn bright red, and he couldn't help but also use his eyes to stick to the small hole of the window screen, peeking out.
Bai Qi saw the scene inside the great hall, and his blood rushed to his head. In the center of the hall was only a monk's bed, on which a tall, fat white monk was entwined with two beautiful young girls. The girls were making low moaning sounds, as if they were crying.
Behind the couch is a huge copper mirror, which reflects all the lights in the hall onto the couch, showing every detail.
Bai Qi saw that the monk's tongue was like a saw, and it drew blood marks on the girl's face. He could no longer bear it, and suddenly shouted: "Good thief bald!"
He drew out his short sword and charged into the great hall, this one sword carrying a fierce and powerful energy that shattered the windows in front of him into powder, sending splinters flying everywhere.
A light rain shocked everyone, Bai Qi was nowhere to be found, so she pulled out the silver hairpin from her head and also rushed into the grand hall.
The stout monk saw a black-haired youth rush in with a sword, kicking open two girls, his face flushed with deep red blood, and shouted: "Who is the young master, dare to ruin Buddha's good deeds!"
In the time it took for the monk to shout, a steel knife had already appeared in his hand, and he chopped down at Bai Qi with a backhand.
The monk's long knife emitted a crimson glow, and Bai Qi felt the aura on his short sword bursting out of control. On that long knife, red lotus flowers bloomed, and he seemed to be in the midst of a fiery inferno.
Sorcery!
It's hard to wake up from a dark path, biting her tongue tip, wanting to make herself sober.
At this time, Bai Qi felt a pain in his waist and heard the sound of Xia Yu.
"Little white brother, run away quickly!"
A great force acted on Bai Qi's waist, his short sword fell out of his hand, and he flew out of the main hall. It was only then that he escaped from the illusion, and his whole body had lost half of its strength.
Xiao Yu grabbed Bai Qi's waistband and leaped into the air, now with an additional ferocious dragon.
That white and fat monk chased out of the temple, saw the enemy flying up, and under the monk's feet appeared a lotus platform, also hovering in mid-air, pouncing on the two men.
The little rain flew up to the high sky, rushing towards a patch of dark clouds. The monk was relentless in his pursuit, chasing after him. Little Rain had no choice but to turn around and fling his silver hairpin. The monk's long sword only managed to block it once, feeling as if he had touched a thunderbolt in his palm. The evil long sword was knocked off by the silver hairpin.
Xiaoyu wanted to recall the silver hairpin, but the monk spat out a lotus flower. A 72-petaled snow-white lotus flower wrapped around Xiaoyu's silver hairpin and swallowed it back into the monk's belly.
The little rain cried out in surprise, but didn't dare go back to retrieve the silver hairpin, and could only urge on the grass dragon, continuing to fly higher.
That monk swallowed the silver hairpin and swung it in mid-air, causing the lotus platform under his feet to become somewhat unstable.
"Hmm?" The monk sensed a familiar aura on the silver hairpin and stopped chasing. He asked suspiciously: "The disciple of the Demon King? How could you come to my Red Lotus Temple?! My Red Lotus Pure Land Sect has no conflict with the Demon King, subduing demons and monsters won't harm their lives, but rather convert them. Those who are converted can live thousands of years longer than ordinary demons."
The monk hesitated for a moment, and Xiaobai had already flown tens of miles away with the little rain.
He spat out the silver hairpin, examined it carefully, and a fierce expression appeared on his face. Even if he was the apprentice of the Demon King, he would have to pay with his life for ruining his own cultivation!
Xiao Yu flew far with a white robe, complaining in her mouth: "Xiao Bai Ge, what have you done! My silver hairpin is lost, and my mother will scold me!"
"That licentious monk has brought ruin to good families..."
"What a good family, those are two heavenly demons summoned from the Heavenly Demon Mirror, and they are cultivating." Xiaoyu was furious. Baiqi didn't understand anything, but he actually wanted to go save the heavenly demons. The Heavenly Demon Mirror was also a famous artifact of the Red Lotus Temple, which could be used to repel enemies or assist in the cultivation of the Red Lotus Pure Land Sect.
"What...Tianmo?"
"You wouldn't understand even if I told you, how annoying. That monk is chasing after us now. You've ruined my cultivation and probably hurt my foundation too, this is terrible." Xiaoyu hastily urged the grass dragon to move faster, but no matter what, its speed couldn't compare to the lotus platform artifact of the Honglian Jingtu Sect. Only then did Xiaoyu start to regret not controlling Bai Qi's temper when watching the monk fight against Tianmo.
The monk chased after him, getting closer and closer, until he was within ten yards. The monk then took out a string of prayer beads from his hand, each bead engraved with golden swastikas.
The little rain seemed to be the eyes of the brain, seeing this string of beads, recognizing that it was a Buddhist instrument, which was equivalent to the Taoist instrument. He was shocked and shouted: "Monk, you dare to hurt me!"
The monk sneered: "Why don't you dare!"
As he spoke, Bai Chui's rosary in his hand had already been cast, turning into a bloody cloud in the air, covering Xiaoyu and Bai Qi's grass dragon.
Xiao Yu gritted her teeth, and a pale yellow bangle flew out from her wrist. Convinced that she was doomed, with one hand she pushed Bai Qi down the grassy slope, thinking to herself: This is just his soul; even if he's frightened, as long as his mother is here, Bai Qi won't die.
"Hmph, you little Buddhist monk, how dare you hurt my child!" A thunderous voice boomed from the sky, like a crack of thunder.
Xiao Yu's face was suddenly covered with tears, and she looked up and cried out "Mother".
A sword light came from top to bottom, with the power of thunder, cutting through the red cloud, and landed right on the head of that white fat monk.
Bai Qi fell from the grass dragon, not knowing why the small rain was pushing himself, but also clear that if he was hit by the monk, he would definitely die. His body plummeted down, with a loud wind sound in his ears, but he continued to fall for an unknown distance without seeing the ground.
Ah!
Bai Qi suddenly sat up, opened his eyes, and found himself still in the water pavilion at home. The colorful-clad girls were scattered around him, sleeping on the ground, just like when he had left.
"Xiao Yu!" Bai Qi shouted, he only saw Xiao Yu lying beside him, eyes tightly closed, unknown whether alive or dead.
Bai Qi regretted it too late, why bother with so much trouble, just to see what kind of monk. That Red Lotus Temple that harbors demons is definitely not a good place. However, how did he end up falling from the sky and landing here, was it all just a dream?
Thinking of this, Bai Qi violently shook Xiao Yu's body, and didn't dare to speak loudly, fearing that he would wake up the people around him.
"Xiao Bai Ge, if you keep shaking, I'll throw up." Xiaoyu slowly opened her eyes at this time and forced a smile towards Bai Qi.
"Little Rain, don't wake them up!" A gentle voice sounded, but Little Rain's body trembled with some panic.
"Mother?" Bai Qi recognized this voice, it was his own wet nurse, Xiaoyu's mother. It seemed that just now in the dream, the loud shout in the high air was also Mother!
"Get out, it's none of your business. Go back and rest. I didn't call you, don't leave the house." Bai Qi's wet nurse spoke like this, which would be overstepping in someone else's home, but Bai Qi didn't dare to argue. He glanced at Xiao Yu, who slightly shook her head, telling him to go back.
He quietly got up and walked along the lake shore, passing by the garden, and slipped back into his own residence.
In the pavilion, a gentle rain fell, and in front of her, at some point, appeared a middle-aged beautiful woman. This woman was born with a seductive appearance, but her expression was stern and unapproachable. Her attire was simple, yet it was impossible to tell that she was a servant. Just the jade bangle on her hand alone couldn't be bought for three to five thousand taels of silver.
"Mother..." Xiaoyu's voice trembled softly, like heavenly music. If a man were to hear it, he would surely be charmed and weakened.
