1.5. Story Of The Dragonkin Royals (Lore)

The Quetin royal family derives it's name from their progenitor, Quetinauraus, who was a draconic scholar once hailed as the dragon god.

As the descendents of the "dragon god", they were hailed by the masses as royalty through manipulation by the Dragon Cult, and were thrust into the position of royalty, beginning their rise to status and power. Unsure as to what to do with their newfound power, they got ready to do what they knew best; fight. The royal family trained, bolstered and equipped their army with Dragonflame before becoming the spearhead of conquest in the world, defeating king after king all in an effort to gain the approval of their progenitor, conquering territory after territory until there were none left to be conquered. With a continent to themselves, and an archives worth of information on history, magic, weapons, techniques, architecture, and more, they gradually became a family of scholarly war mages, but with nobody left to fight, they turned upon themselves, infighting until stopped by the words of the dragon scholar. "Fight not amongst yourselves, lest you incite a turmoil you are unable to resolve." With the words of the wise now spoken, the violent scuffles came to an abrupt stop, politics, however, became much more competitive, cementing the scholarly nature of the royals even more.

With their newfound peace, the royals put their all into developing their techniques, empire, and even a school of magic that would come to be known as the best in the world at one point. The Quetin, wanting a powerful empire with people strong enough to be able to train with, decided to develop their empire with the power they already had, so as to make it a place for the strong to gather, and the weak to grow, be it in mind or body. And so came to be the legendary

But there are always parts of history not told to or by anyone but the royals themselves, one such example is the , a dark time of historical adversity within the royal family, as they strengthened the "chain" that was their empire by getting rid of the weak links one region at a time, this continued unnoticed by the masses, even after the nearly perfect chain that would continue be refined over time, came to be. But this particular point in time was purposely overlooked by the dragon scholar, it is unknown why he disregarded the culling.

Another such example in hidden history is when the Quetin decided to rewrite history, to make themselves appear eternal, as if no other royal family had ever existed before them. And so began the , a time of great change for the "history of the world", changed to suit the needs of the Quetin, to prevent animosity toward the family in ages to come, and to erase the atrocities only known by a select few, who came to be titled as True Scholars by the royal family.

Many atrocities came to pass throughout the ages, and the the dragon scholar decidedly left the castle. Although the thoughts of the Dragon scholar were unknown, it was thought to be to better understand the world and the laws that govern it. Quetinauraus, leaving nothing but a key upon his departure, the Lord's Key, so it was once called. Dissapearing across the álas Sea, bordering the Fotiális Continental Empire, never to be seen again, it would seem. Over time, the Lord's Key came to use as the key to the Royal Castle's vault. Having many enchantments, and it's use only being known by the King, it came to be known by another name, the Antiquated Key.

With the departure of the dragon scholar began the infighting tradition of the Royal Family, so as to purify the bloodline, and never become weak. Another tradition also came about during this time, the patriarch had to be the strongest (note that dragons don't have a "gender" before you complain about the use of that word), and as such, only by defeating the previous patriarch could a new one be crowned king. Such traditions didn't come about before the departure of the dragon scholar as he had prevented such things previously, but had now disappeared across the sea. As time passed, the royal family became smaller, but more concentrated in it's power, those under the rule of the Quetin knew not where they had obtained their power, only that they were strong, even as their numbers decreased. The traditions of old still held strong, as such, they became even more powerful, and cemented within their position. The Quetins came to be the only leader anyone ever knew, with their once nigh unstoppable fighting ability, perfect aptitude, and plentiful resources.
