  Aazak lived at the time of Noah. He created the first portal to another world, and when the waters swallowed the Earth, he and many of his followers ventured to Erde, a world too cold to sustain human life. They forged an existence by creating the great machines, magical structures of immense size and power that would regulate Erde's climate.

  Though designed to last as long as possible, after tens of thousands of years of neglect, the great machines are breaking down.
