Chapter 12: The Black Armors Soul

Chapter 12: The Dark Armor's Soul (Fiercely Seeking Recommendations)

The dense and numerous undead completely surrounded the small squad of black armored soldiers, the eerie glow flickering in the eyes of the charging skulls, the rotting flesh hanging from the zombies' bodies like dripping glue, all impacting their nerves.

"Kill!" The big Han roared, his muscular arms bulging, the broad blade in his hand slicing out a cold gleam, chopping the two zombies at the front into two pieces.

"Kill! Kill! Kill!" The remaining nine black-armored soldiers followed one after another, shouting fiercely as they hacked down the vengeful spirits that were pouncing on them.

The marrow of the skull scattered at the time, the rotting flesh and corpse liquid on the zombie's body splashed onto the faces of ten black armored soldiers.

Even if the black armored soldiers were fully armed, their faces and hands were exposed. These highly toxic and disgusting things not only corroded their armor with a sizzling sound, but also instantly melted their skin, causing it to burst open.

But none of the Black Armor soldiers cried out in pain; they only returned with even more ferocious chopping.

However, people are not machines after all, and over time they will become tired, and fatigue will lead to mistakes.

At this time, one of the black armored soldiers was a little slower in drawing his sword, and his arm was grabbed by the zombie in front of him and pulled hard.

The soldier let out a blood-curdling scream as his arm was ripped from his body, but he didn't collapse. Instead, he kicked the zombie's head into pulp and then charged forward with the skull-tipped bone spear lodged in his chest, his remaining hand thrust deep into the skull's eye socket.

The red glow in the skull's pupils dissipated, and the soldier was also torn to pieces by the surging spirits.

"Little Fei!" The remaining nine Black Armor soldiers cried out in unison.

"Everyone, hold your ground and fight these damned spirits to the death!" The burly captain roared, knowing that Xiaofei could have retreated into the safety zone, but he chose to fight to the end because he knew that losing his combat effectiveness would drag down the entire team. Now he knew even more that they were surrounded by a horde of spirits and might not be able to return, nor wait for reinforcements still fifty miles away.

"Get out of here!" Ironhead chopped down at the zombie's neck with his knife, but the zombie's neck was as hard as steel, and the blade only made it halfway in before getting stuck.

The zombie's forehead was a greenish hue, clearly an intermediate undead creature. It let out a few fierce roars from its throat and a pair of iron claws flashed like lightning, stabbing straight into the heart of the Iron Head.

His eyes narrowed, he couldn't retreat, one retreat and the formation would be in disarray, the entire team would be annihilated in an instant.

Just then, a soldier beside Tie Tou stepped forward and blocked his way. In the instant when the zombie's sharp claws were about to burst his heart, a heavy fist hit the back of the knife stuck in the zombie's neck.

The zombie's head rolled off, but the black-armored soldier stood upright and leaned against the zombie's headless corpse, as if they were embracing each other.

"Barbarian, ah......" Tie Tou completely went berserk, ignoring a skull that swung a bone knife at his head, and directly smashed its hard skull to pieces.

With a "clang", the iron-headed helmet was chopped in two, but the skull's bone knife slashed on his smooth scalp left only a shallow mark.

Iron-headed as if mad, only knowing how to slaughter, completely ignoring the attacks of the undead.

"Hey Ironhead, snap out of it!" The big man pulled Ironhead back from the attacks of several vengeful spirits, but not without gaining a few more wounds on his body.

"Captain, I want revenge, I'm going to annihilate these damned undead!" Ironhead bellowed.

"Shut up! We, the Black Armor Army, will maintain our formation even if only two of us are left. It's only worth it if we kill more undead. You died like this, what a waste, fill in the empty spot for me!" The big man shouted loudly.

Tie Tou regained consciousness, no longer speaking, his eyes bulging with anger, silently wielding the knife in his hand.

Tie Xuan had been with the Black Armor Army for only a month, and had followed this battalion to the Mountains of the Dead to replace another battalion of the Black Armor Army just ten days ago. He was previously an elite soldier in another legion, selected through layers of screening to enter the Black Armor Army.

He had always thought that the Black Armor Army was able to stand at the top of the military because of its strong individual strength, but now he realized how wrong he was. The Black Armor Army's reputation was not just due to its individual strength, but more importantly, it was due to its team spirit and the willingness to die for one's comrades in arms.

The barbarian's teammate from just now, normally didn't get along with him, but just now he firmly blocked in front of himself, and went to die in his place.

Ten Black Armor soldiers, having fought until now with half already fallen in battle, only five Black Armor soldiers remain like small rocks in the waves, even knowing they will be smashed to pieces, they refuse to retreat.

The remaining five Black Armor soldiers were all injured, the corpse poison had spread throughout their bodies, and even if they hadn't been torn apart by the undead, they would still die from the poison.

"Blazing Slash!" The burly captain roared, his large sword emitting a flame that sliced through the waists of five undead spirits in front of him. However, he seemed to be out of breath and stood frozen in place, as several more undead spirits charged towards him.

"Captain!" Ironhead rushed forward and blocked in front of the captain. He was finally going to die gloriously for his teammates too.

At this moment, a golden light flashed by, and more than ten ghostly heads in front of Tie Tou separated.

A youth dressed in a long, female-style robe appeared like a ghost, wielding a black sword that sent out layers of golden energy, instantly opening up a gap in the crowd of undead.

"What's wrong with you, still standing there? Run!" Qi Bei shouted loudly.

The five surviving Black Armor soldiers were like waking up from a dream, supporting each other as they rushed out of the encirclement of vengeful spirits, while Qi Bei stayed behind to cover their retreat.

Five Black Armor soldiers stumbled and staggered out for two or three miles before finally stopping to take out the antidotes they had prepared in advance, which would temporarily suppress the corpse poison, allowing them to survive once they returned to camp.

"Captain, who is that expert?" a soldier asked the big man who was deep in thought.

"I don't know if I'm seeing things, but he looks just like Nord's younger brother, Qi Bei." The big man said, and after finishing his sentence, he shook his head as if feeling it was unrealistic.

"It's impossible! The younger brother of the leader has no strength to bind a chicken, how can he be so fierce?" Tie Tou said.

"That must be my eyes playing tricks on me." The big man didn't say anything more.

"Alas, our five brothers are now all gone... their corpses can't even be found..." Tie Tou said in a low and mournful tone, his eyes gleaming with tears.

The rest of them fell silent for a long time, and the big Han spoke up: "Since joining the army, we have all been prepared to die in battle. Being wrapped in horse hide is our glory."

"Captain, the expert who saved us has arrived."

Dahan looked back and saw that Qi Bei was running towards him with a large bundle of things on his back, tied up with tree bark straps, at an incredible speed.

It wasn't until they got closer that they discovered Qi Bei was dragging five suits of armor and the dismembered remains of dead soldiers.

"This is all I can find, they are all good men, I admire them, and this is all I can do." Qi Bei sighed and gently put these things down.
