Sitting in class like usual, nothing weird. "HEY ALICE! Don't fall asleep in my class." "ACK!" That scared me, I jolted up, Realizing I almost fell asleep in class. "Just because you're the school's top student doesn't mean you can just doze off in class. Come up and solve this problem." Mr. Li said, handing me the piece of chalk.
Piece of cake. I found studying to be one of my favorite hobbies. Though people wondered why I did. Tap, Tap screech. "There I finished. x = 16.26." I say. I put the piece of chalk down and started heading back to my seat. "Ok, smarty pants not all of us need someone bragging about how their soo good at everything." I heard coming from across the classroom. Though I usually don't care what other people say, I'm still the top topic for gossip because I'm so "mysterious" and shit.
"Ok thank you. But still, just people you're the top student doesn't mean you can just fall asleep. This is still important stuff to know." Mr. Li had always gotten on my nerves. But today, he seemed more stingy I don't know how to explain it.
After class
"Omg did you see that? Xynai slept the whole class period and Mr. Li didn't do anything but he still picked on Alice." Someone had said. It was probably that blondie who was always gossiping about me. No matter how hard I try to keep things a secret, they just always know what's going on. "Oh yeahh he's so sexist like who the hell's even gonna pick on someone who just barely even put their head down for a second let alone someone who has been sleeping the whole time?"
"Well I mean, she kinda deserves it, she has no friends and all she does is study study study, her uniform she wears is falling apart maybe that's why ________ ________ _____"

I could just feel myself dozing off again, but no I can't, exams are coming up soon and I need to study. I pack up my stuff. Notebook, pencil case, folder, yep I got everything. As I get up, I feel a sense of dizziness. Looks like I got up too quickly. I head out the door.
I wish I was like others. A nice desk, bed, food on the table every day, but then there's me. I have to sleep on the floor and there's trash everywhere at my house. My mother is always somewhere I have no idea where but she's always coming home drunk. And when she does, bruises, scratches, and scars appear across my skin. I try my best to avoid being home as much as possible. Which is why I go to this abandoned house in the forest.
I walk along the pathway. I opened the door and there it was. A perfectly clean desk. There's even a loft with a bed and- HUH?? WHAT. "AHHHHH" I screamed so loud that the person who was sleeping on the bed woke up. I thought this was completely abandoned. I've been coming here for over a month and this whole time someone was here?
I could see him sit up straight. His black hair was messy and I could see the tired eyes with eyebags. Oh. It was Xynai. "What are you doing here?" Xynai asked in a soft, deep tone.
"I'm sorry, sorry I thought this was completely abandoned I just needed to study here in a quiet area," I say rushing my words. Trying to pack everything up. How am I supposed to study now?
"Woah I didn't mean to just kick you out I don't own this place." He fixed up his hair and started down the stairs. "Listen here dumbass, we can share the place. I just need the upstairs and you can have the desk. I won't be loud and you shouldn't either. I just want to sleep." He said grabbing a drink of water from the kitchen. This house isn't even that to begin with.
"Oh. I guess that works.." I say as I glance off my shoulder to see him going back up and lying the on bed. I just started setting up my books and papers as quietly as I could. "You don't need to try to be quiet I can sleep through anything even Mr. Li's lectures." Well, that was unexpected. "Just sleep," I say.
After a while
"Oh and by the way, don't stay here for too long, it's pretty far from the city and it gets dark after 8." He says. "Come on, get up now. You're going back to your house. Go."
"Yeah," I say. I could feel the weight of my eyes as they fell shut as I lay my head on the desk.
