Chapter Ten: The Soul-Breaking Cave
Wang Long felt that all around him, in front of and behind him, to his left and right, there were people rushing about, and he was now surrounded.
Wang Long carefully avoided contact with others in the thick fog, turning left and right without knowing how many turns he had made. Wang Long only felt that the front suddenly lit up, and the dense fog suddenly became very thin. The scenery in front was clearly visible, and Wang Long shouted with joy, running forward.
He hadn't run three hundred meters when Wang Long stopped, because he suddenly felt something was off. In front of him was a pitch-black cave, the cave was extremely tall and large, just like a monster with its bloody mouth wide open waiting for him.
Moreover, there is another very strange thing: although the entrance of the cave is very large, it is only five meters inside that you can't see a single ray of light anymore, and it's just pitch black.
The two sides of the cave entrance are steep rocky slopes, and it is impossible to climb up with my current ability. There is no other way but to enter the cave.
Wang Long saw the situation ahead was so perilous, he wanted to turn back. Just as he turned around, he saw Ah Qi leading twenty or so men rushing out of the dense fog forest, with Yi Pu and his two subordinates closely following behind. This is the end, Wang Long muttered to himself, now that there's no way forward and pursuers behind, what choice did he have?
As he watched the thirty people closing in, Wang Long quickly made a decision and ran towards the black hole to hide. Yipu seemed to have seen through Wang Long's thoughts and shouted from behind: "Young man, ahead of you is our Miao tribe's forbidden land 'Duanhun Cave', once you enter, your soul will be scattered. Don't blame me for not warning you."
Wang Long was shocked, but thought that Yipu was intentionally deceiving him, and turned to head towards the cave. Yipu shouted again from behind: "Kid, don't think I'm cheating you, for thousands of years, no one has entered the cave and come out alive, going in is a dead end."
Wang Long steeled himself and stepped into the black hole with a resolute face. Just then, a loud cry came from behind: "Adan, don't!" It sounded like Uncle Misan's voice.
Just then Wang Long had already stepped into the pitch-black cave, and immediately felt a wave of dizziness and blurred vision, as if he was swept away by an extremely strong airflow, and lost consciousness.
Misang rushed to the cave mentioned by Wang Long, only to find that Aili had already been transferred by Yipu, leaving him empty-handed. He followed the pursuers and hurriedly came to find Wang Long. When he arrived here, he found that Wang Long was about to enter the Miao tribe's forbidden land "Duanhun Cave". Unfortunately, it was still a step late. At the same time as his shout, Wang Long had already disappeared in front of everyone. Misang only felt a heartache and suddenly burst into tears.
When he saw Wang Long disappear into the "Soul-Breaking Cave", he also thought that he was bound to die, but instead turned around to comfort Mi San, patted Mi San's shoulder and said: "Mi San leader, don't be sad, let it go, such a person is not worth your sorrow. It can be considered as getting what he deserved."
"Is he a good man? You're driving him to death like this, how can you be at peace with yourselves?" Mr. Mi was heartbroken and knew that even if he spoke the truth, no one would believe him. He decided to wait until he found evidence to clear Wang Long's name, he couldn't let him die unjustly.
Mi San gave Yi Pu a vicious glare, Yi Pu was startled and quickly turned his head around. Mi San loudly said to Yi Pu: "You little brat, you just wait, you will get what's coming to you." Yi Pu only closely followed his two subordinates, not daring to provoke Mi San again. The group of people stood silently at the entrance of the cave for half a day, finally, Yi Pu and Ah Qi led their subordinates away.
Misang uncle found a wooden sign at the entrance of the cave, piled up a mound of earth and stones beside it, and inserted the wooden sign with Adan's name into the mound. Misang stood there and muttered: "Adan, you can rest assured that I will let your grievances be redressed, I will avenge you, child."
Mi San shed a few turbid tears and continued, "Ah Dan, do you know that I have always regarded you as my own son? You are so kind-hearted. Heaven, why are you so unfair? Why do good people never live long? Why didn't I die instead? If possible, I would rather it be me who died than for Ah Dan to meet with an accident. Ah Dan, child, go down first and wait for me to avenge your death, then I'll come down to accompany you." It wasn't until the sky had completely darkened that Mi San finally turned around and left "Duanhun Cave".
Wang Long slowly regained some consciousness, his fingers moved slightly, and he barely opened his eyes to find himself in a metallic world, where everything was made of copper, aluminum, lead, zinc, tin, gold, silver, platinum, palladium, indium, tin, cadmium, titanium, silicon, germanium, stainless steel, iron alloy...
These metals are mixed together, emitting a colorful metallic luster. This is a world made up of metal, with a mountain entirely composed of aluminum, a bridge made of gold, houses made of iron alloy... and so on. Mountains, rivers, all things in the world are all made up of metal.
Wang Long climbed up and stood on a gold block the size of a stone table, constantly marveling in his heart that if he could bring this gold to the real world, he would instantly become a billionaire. After indulging in fantasy for a moment, the key now was to figure out where he actually was. Why was it that except for metal, there was nothing else here?
Wang Long stepped forward, walking on the metal ground, and came to a huge silver river. To his surprise, there were many metals flowing inside the river. In the sky, a copper bird flew by, completely bewildering Wang Long. He only felt extremely hungry at this moment, what to do? It's impossible to go eat gold, right? Wang Long looked at the golden ground all around him, not having any desire for it, and just wanted to find something to fill his stomach as soon as possible.
Suddenly, Wang Long heard a loud "boom" coming from the other side of the river, and quickly turned around to see a huge iron rhinoceros as big as a house charging into the river. Several fish jumped out of the water. The iron rhinoceros moved swiftly in the river, and was about to climb up to Wang Long's shore. Wang Long was shocked. Looking at the iron rhinoceros' fierce appearance, it didn't seem like it meant any good for him.
Wang Long quickly ran towards the dense forest ahead, at least in the forest, he could find something to cover himself, and the iron rhinoceros's body was too large, it must not be so convenient to move around in the forest.
That iron rhinoceros seemed to have a vendetta against Wang Long, seeing him running in front and also opening his legs to chase after him relentlessly. Wang Long was suddenly furious, he himself was being chased by them and had nowhere to run before entering this cave, now he was being chased by an iron rhinoceros in this completely unfamiliar metal world. He really had a terrible time lately.
Found a tree with a trunk as wide as a bowl, Wang Long quickly hid behind it, turned around and looked, scared to the point of being out of breath. The huge iron rhinoceros was pushing down the trees in front of him like dominoes, making a "ka-la-ka-la" sound, and was about to push them right in front of himself. Wang Long didn't have time to think about what was happening, so he just kept running for his life.
After running for half a day, Wang Long finally ran out of the forest, but he didn't dare to relax because the iron rhinoceros behind him was still chasing closely, and the ground kept making loud "rumbling" sounds.
Suddenly, Wang Long felt a dazzling metallic glow emanating from the front, as if it was a volcanic eruption composed of various metals, and the soaring flames pierced Wang Long's eyes with a sharp pain, but he couldn't feel any heat.
Wang Long continued to run forward, and the scene in front of him became clearer. The place where flames were bursting into the sky was actually a cliff, with a huge dividing line spanning between heaven and earth. There was no way to go forward anymore.
Wang Long hastily stopped, but the iron rhinoceros was rushing towards him without stopping. Wang Long quickly gathered his strength and struck the iron rhinoceros's head with a loud "bang". The iron rhinoceros's head instantly had a fist-sized black hole punched out of it. Meanwhile, Wang Long was also knocked flying by the iron rhinoceros's massive impact force, landing at the bottom of the cliff where flames were erupting.
Wang Long shouted loudly and was instantly engulfed in a soaring metal flame. However, he didn't feel the slightest heat, only feeling as if his body had fallen onto steel.
The iron rhinoceros saw Wang Long being knocked into the flames by himself, and a triumphant smile emerged from his red eyes. He stood there watching Wang Long completely disappear under the cliff before turning around and running back to where he came from.
Wang Long only felt that his entire body was surrounded by flames of various metals, and his whole body swelled up like it was about to explode. A surge of metal flowed rapidly into the meridians in his body through millions of pores all over his skin, emitting a seven-colored metallic glow from his entire body. Wang Long seemed to be able to see inside his own body clearly, with various metals darting back and forth within his meridians.
Under extreme pain in his brain, Wang Long let out a loud roar and fainted.
When Wang Long slowly came to, he felt as if his entire body had been infused with infinite power. In the blood flowing through his veins, a metallic thread seemed to be faintly visible.
Wang Long opened his eyes to find himself lying in a world entirely composed of green trees: coral trees, ginkgoes, oak trees, stinky sumac, magnolia, yew plum, Chinese angelica, tea oil camellia, blue sandalwood, mulberry, weeping willow, locust tree, silver birch, willow, and coconut palm... The myriad plants of the world were all there, a dazzling array that seemed to have everything.
Wang Long felt as if he had arrived at the world's largest botanical garden. All of these plants emitted a faint, pale green glow.
When this soft light shone on his body, Wang Long felt that his whole body was filled with a huge vitality, extremely comfortable.
